Danilo Cuellar 2008- Beethoven Pathetique Mvt II Danilo Cuellar 2008-09-10 | This is arguably my mother's favorite piano piece. Many of the second movements of Beethoven's sonatas are among the most mournful and wonderful in all of piano music. This is a prime example of the mesmerizing effect that Beethoven's music can have on others. In the words of Siegbert Tarrasch, one of the strongest chess players of the early 20th century, "Chess, like love, like music, has the power to make men happy."

I felt like they were with me the whole time, hanging on to every word I said, a truly delightful experience. I even inserted a few tags improvised on the spot to great success! I tried out some new jokes as usual which were a hit on the most part. Some old jokes did not get the reception I expected, perhaps because I rushed them. On the whole a very respectable performance!

I performed for only 5 minutes because I wasn't aware of how much time I had left. I will bring a timer onstage with me next time! The crowd was fairly responsive and I got to try out some new jokes so I can't complain. This was the first time I accidentally pulled the mic cord out of the mic. It made for an interesting show. Danilo Cuellar 10th Stand Up Comedy 9/9/2011 Danilo Cuellar 2011-09-13 | This crowd was noticeably more stoic and phlegmatic than my previous audiences. The laughs did not come quite so generously. Perhaps this type of crowd is a more accurate reflection of the true comedic value of a joke. I still enjoyed myself as it posed a healthy challenge for me. The laughs I did get were therefore well deserved! I hope you enjoy it.

The result was stupendous! I was fortunate to have a very receptive crowd. I guess I could have said a few more jokes since I ended 40 seconds shy of 7 minutes but I didn't want to anger the MC. I am quite happy with the result. I know you are all tired of hearing this but, I am getting better!! :-)

Sure a couple where flops but that only reflects the constant variability of stand up comedy. Some are worthy of repetition for the next performance and some are unhesitatingly thrown to the recycling bin of the mind! I look forward to my next performance with great excitement!

Not only did I feel more comfortable with doing my own original material but even though I was heckled quite a bit I stayed the course, never lost track, and did my set. Danilo Cuellar 2008- Pathetique Mvt I Danilo Cuellar 2008-09-10 | This along with the Moonlight Sonata are among the first pieces that I learned when I started piano in 1995 at the age of 12 years old. As a result they are the pieces that are most ingrained in me. One can say Beethoven was my first love. The passion and intensity he injects into his music is unparalleled and exceptional. I regard him as the first of the truly Romantic composers. In the words of Beethoven "Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of women."

Danilo Cuellar - Malaguena by Ernesto Lecuona Danilo Cuellar 2007-10-07 | This was played on a 50 year old piano we got for free from an old lady who kept it clean and polished but never played or tuned it. Please excuse the sound quality and focus on the music interpretation. I love the Castilian zest in this piece. Maybe I'll replay this piece on the 6' baby grand that has now replaced it. Another piece of beautiful Castilian flavor I would like to learn is "Souvenirs D' Andalousie" by Louis M. Gottschalk. Any comment or criticisms are invited and appreciated.

The Pathetique was one of the first pieces I learned, to the chagrin of my teacher.
