Royal Australian Air Force Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Stephen Chappell, DSC, CSC, OAM and Chief of the German Air Force, Lieutenant General Holger Neumann conduct an International Air Combat Exercise in a RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornet and a German Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon.

Exercise Pitch Black 26 is the Royal Australian Air Force’s premier International Air Combat Exercise, bringing together regional and allied partners across Northern Australia from 20 July to 7 August 2026 to strengthen partnerships, enhance interoperability, and improve combat readiness through integrated training.
