His journey begins as a child, where his people and himself are harassed constantly by the encroaching settlers. The safe haven and his childhood home is burnt to the ground, and Kaniehtí:io, his mother, perishes despite his best efforts to save her.
From here, he leaves the tribe to make a permanent change for the better. To change the world and ideals of these new people to ensure the safety of the remainder of his tribe. He fights for peace, individual liberties, and for the freedom to be left alone.
This brings him to join the Revolution on the side of the Patriots and hunt down the Templars that are pulling the strings of the British Army, and played a hand in the destruction of his home. He succeeds in this mission. His revenge against the Templars thwarts their plans to overturn the Revolutionary War, and turns the tides in America's favor. But it comes at a great personal cost to Ratonhnhaké:ton.
In this pursuit, he is beaten, bruised, hanged, imprisoned, and stabbed. He sacrifices the integrity of his body, much like his mentor Achilles before him, to reach the goals he has set for himself. And the wounds run deeper than physical harm. Connor has to kill his childhood best friend, who was tricked by the Templars into attacking Patriots, on empty promises that their people would be left alone once the conflict concluded. It is alleged that George Washington, a redcoat turned leader of the Patriot army, was the one who orchestrated the burning of his village and caused the death of his mother. And finally, he is forced to kill his own father, Haytham Kenway, and leader of the Templar Order in America.
After all the physical and mental anguish, Connor stays strong in the hopes that his labors will bear fruit and he will one day be able to return to his people. This is in vain as well. Despite his efforts to side with the "Good Guys" and beat the "Bad Guys" he returns to his home to find that his people have abandoned it. Still forced to flee despite his victories and connections with America's new leaders. He has won the war for the Patriots, but failed at his primary objective. This was inevitable, no matter what side won, his people never would have been safe. There is no path through life that is just and fair and right.
Connors' story is one of suffering, futility, and sacrifice. Yet it is also a story of hope, spirituality, and sensitivity. Connor is stoic throughout the story, polar opposites to what we had previously seen with the charismatic and charming Ezio. He is headstrong, blunt, humorless, and sometimes ignorant to the changing world around him, yet over time he is able to adapt and change for the better. He recruits more Assassin's into the fold, bringing them back from the brink of extinction. He fixes Achilles' homestead and brings in good likeminded people to settle there. He is a beacon of hope in a time with nothing but darkness.
Even after the credits role, Connor's work is not done. As he continues to expand the American Assassin's Order, he marries a woman from a nearby tribe and bears 3 children. One was born with the sight that he has, the instinct of Eagle Vision. That daughter carries on the Assassin's tradition after Connor's natural passing.
He is a symbol for the unwavering human spirit, for overcoming extreme adversity despite crushing personal loss, for self-sacrifice, and for doing what is right. We can all learn something from Connor's struggle throughout this experience.
Assassin's Creed will never come back from the changes it has seen over the last few years, and in a way that makes this games story more impactful. Connor never lost sight of who he was and was never pulled from the righteous path. The same can not be said for those that created his story.
I can't see why people don't like this game. The changes made were not impactful in any meaningful way, and the story told is one of historical accuracy mixed with reimagination. It reminds me of the liberties taken with Greek and now Norse mythology with God of War, or a Quinten Tarantino movie.
Perhaps it was Connor that was a turn-off for most of the audience. People didn't realize that Connor's lack of emotion was not a fault of the writing, but done purposefully. It fits his character and experiences, with other characters filling the roles of witty or comedic. Ubisoft could've given us another Ezio, a run of the mill, comedic, charismatic, never faltering or struggling protagonist. A modern Marvel protagonist. Instead they took a risk and told a story that divided an audience. That risk paid off, and makes the game more impactful in hindsight. Perhaps Mirage will have a new profound impact on myself, the community, and the series as a whole. But I won't be holding my breath.

*Please Note* that the entire game is not performed flawlessly in a single segment, but achieved by retrying sections through saving and quitting throughout. The only stipulation of Impossible mode is that you are not allowed to die. This causes a full reset to the beginning of the game, or will force the player to switch the difficulty to "Hard" mode. Saving and quitting does not void the Impossible difficulty stipulation.
This guide will take you through each room, hallway, optional area, and boss encounters throughout the game, and explain in detail how to survive the USG Ishimura and Aegis VII unscathed.
After the full game has been completed, I will upload the full game walkthrough as one video, as well as a no commentary run.
Something of note, is that I am playing the game and doing post-commentary and without a set script, so forgive my lack of structure and rambling during some segments. I review the footage and prepare my thoughts before recording commentary on the segments. I say the word, "so" a lot, and will be mindful of that in future recordings.
The original and the remake of Dead Space have a semi-random spawning system. As you progress through your attempts at Impossible, you may find yourself encountering different numbers of enemies in each room. Some sections are static and do not change from one playthrough to the next, but others will have variance in the number of enemies encountered, location of their spawns, etc. This is called the "Intensity Director".
While playing I do my best to make the game look as cinematic as possible through optimal camera movement, analyzing the environment, and hanging out while cutscenes play, so that the no commentary run encapsulates a full experience of the gameplay and story.
If you enjoy the video, please consider liking it, commenting down below, and subscribing to the channel for more content like this. I avoid asking for likes/subs/comments in the videos themselves, because it is a cliché that I am sick of hearing, even if that negatively impacts my ability to be noticed by YouTube's algorithm.

For those unaware, there are still staff duplication glitches present in BO3. You can use the Boomhilda to boost yourself up to Lightning Staff pieces, effectively skipping riding the tank. You can use the Self Medication Gobblegum to more easily transport staffs to and from Agartha, and also wield 2 staffs at once. This run does not use any of those strats in favor of completing all the necessary steps faster than the average bear as the developers intended. This run also utilizes a gamepad (Xbox controller), versus the keyboard and mouse counterparts, which are generally able to make inputs faster and more effectively than a sluggish controller.
What makes this run unique to me is the amount of juggling one must do in order to make the most effective use of their time, along with routing on the fly when the RNG robots present themselves.
Someday soon I would like to re-familiarize myself with the choices made in this run and explain my process so a fuller context can be reached outside reading this description.
TL:DR: This is an RNG heavy speedrun and I am proud to say I am one of few to complete it in a little over an hour - glitchless.
#origins #easteregg #speedrun
As a testament to this love, I set out to complete the Easter Egg for the first time SOLO. A lofty goal even ten years ago. After my first completion the itch hadn't been scratched. I wanted to do it again, and again, and again. And through those many runs, I found myself wanting to beat it faster and faster. This run is a testament to my progress thus far.
This run utilizes zero glitches, but does utilize all gobblegums. Unfortunately, there isn't a glitchless leaderboard on Zombie Records or Speedruns.com, otherwise this would be the 3rd fastest on Speedrun.com. My goal is a sub 1:05, which would get me in the top 3. I make a few mistakes in this run and miss out on robot cycles that would have naturally improved this time. I'm also changing strategies to utilize "Anywhere But Here" instead of "Wall Power" to cut down on travel time when upgrading staffs and delivering them to Agartha. It's a difficult balancing act though, as I still need access to a Nuke to eliminate the Templar Knights that want to disable the generators, and make me unable to complete the Easter Egg without powering them back up.
Over the next few weeks (or if I ever get an afternoon to myself ever again), I'd like to do a commentary track over this video. I can't decide if I need to script something, or if I'm so comfortable with the content that I can do a live commentary similarly to the Binding of Isaac video.
It's strange, this channel is called, "Your Game Sucks", but over time I've found myself posting simply what I want, versus straining myself and wearing myself out on bad games.
Here's the thing. This channel was inspired by Joseph Anderson, YourMovieSucks, IHateEverything, and other channels with similar content, however I continuously struggle with time. I have no time to dedicate to this hobby and still maintain my work ethic, relationship, side hustles, and other more social hobbies. Maybe some day, but unfortunately not today.
If I ever drop off the face of the earth and this hillside remains barren, just remember that Spartans never die, they're just missing in action.

I have been playing Isaac off and on for the past 10 years or so. I hopped on the bandwagon when it exploded in popularity, and have been following the game since. After picking it up again, I have found myself properly hooked, constantly watching content, learning more about the items, unlocks, secrets, and characters. My goal is 100% completion for at least one save file, which is something I have not been able to accomplish across all of my accounts and my hundreds of hours of playtime.
Through this experience, I have to admit that I love this game. The variety in content, items, secrets, enemies, bosses, unlocks, etc. is astounding. The way the 500+ items synergize and change when combined with each other is a great feat worth appreciating and experiencing for yourself.
That being said, there is a significant skill curve as you learn how to combat the many enemies, adapt to your build and the items given to you, and learn all of the items effects by sight alone. It is a fun skill curve, but Isaac does not hold your hand. It is a sink or swim experience and that type of experience is what I most frequently crave from games. I don't mind some handholding every so often, but I more frequently seek out challenges for myself to overcome. And Isaac provides those challenges.
The major downsides that I want to convey that I did not describe clearly enough in the videos are as follows:
- Armored enemies and bosses were a mistake. It removes some of the fun when your broken build suddenly becomes average at best when going up against Hush, Delirium, Ultra Greed, and Ultra Greedier. You can find more information about the needlessly convoluted armor system here: bindingofisaacrebirth.fandom.com/wiki/Damage_Scaling
- Greed Mode and Greedier Mode suck. Hard stop. The Normal mode of Isaac is where the game thrives. Greed Mode is such a blatantly jarring and awful departure from the original experience, that I have a hard time stomaching it, nevertheless enjoying it.
- The "Stop" button being in the middle of the room instead of on a wall or being a spacebar item is really bad design. Enemies can spawn all around that button, and in an instance where you have chasing enemies spawn at the top and bottom of the room, you either resort to dodging in the middle and taking damage from the "Stop" button, or getting hit by the enemies. It removes a huge area for you to work with.
- These frustrations compound when you don't get off to a good start and end up overwhelmed by enemies on Floor 1, which in turn makes Greed Mode the reset Olympics, where you hold "R" unless you find a great starting item or find the D20 in your shop, which is an item that can break Greed mode and make it trivial.
- Run ruining items, and items that provide downgrades to the player instead of upgrades get old quick. Taking a blind item on Depths II and having it be Dunce Cap, Tiny Planet, Ludovico Technique, or Anti-Gravity Tears brings one to a state of despair and loses all sense of wanting to continue. These items could be modified into having severe negatives with slight positives to balance them and not make them items that literally ruin your run and are only touched once for completions sake. Dunce Cap could decrease your tear rate significantly, making you a cross-eyed hose. Tine Planet could tighten the orbit of your tears, making it more of circle around Isaac instead of the weird oval that it currently is, etc. There is a necessity for bad items, but having some that literally turn your whole run off is a little harsh.
- Repentance expands the game a little too far for my tastes, and gets pretty far from the original concept. It was inspired by dozens of mods that completely changed the experience, and that's not a bad thing. Isaac needed to be flipped on it's head, but Repentance strays too far for my tastes, so I prefer Afterbirth+.
- Unavoidable damage such as RNG attacks (Mama Gurdy spikes, Conquest/Isaac light beams, etc) make the game much less fair when these enemies are encountered and this damage incurred.
- Enemies dealing damage right after spawning is ridiculous. This is most prevalent in Greed Mode and during the Mega Satan fight. But is also seen with enemies like the ghosts.
Overall, The Binding of Isaac is an amazing game that I would recommend to everyone. It goes on sale very frequently, so pick it up at a good price and enjoy!

As is, Chivalry 2 feels and plays like a beta. There is no story, the total number of maps is in the single digits, the fighting system is crude, rudimentary, and repetitive, and the objectives are mediocre and outdated.
At the end of the tutorial, there is a cutscene that plays based on whether you “choose” to “ally” with Agatha or Mason and explains the lore of the game. I was expecting this to be a setup for some sort of campaign, where you play on the side of Agatha or Mason and complete objectives on the multiplayer maps with a structure similar to Battlefront 2, or even just play through the multiplayer missions against bots, with some major players in the conflict directing orders and dumping exposition, but no such mode exists. It is all multiplayer.
A multiplayer-only experience is fine, especially when considering that Torn Banner is considered an indie studio with no support from major publishers or AAA studios, but in order to compete in this highly competitive market, within an already niche market of games, the game needs to innovate and deliver a unique experience. In order to do this, Chivalry 2 needed to deliver airtight gameplay, a hyper-refined combat system, and have a high skill-ceiling to reward dedicated players. As it stands though, the combat system is inconsistent and repetitive. Swing, block, swing, block, swing, block, is what a vast majority of engagements devolve to. This is due to the overall design of the combat system, and mechanics like the jab and counter not functioning unless in the rare instance of low latency.
This game gets old fast, and is far from innovation. It had an opportunity to create such a combat system, design unique weapons with varied move sets and attacks, create a story, or write characters that players could latch on to, but instead copy and pasted the previous title, with updated graphics and menus.
Games within this market like For Honor, Mordhau, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance have a cult following, consistent player base. and have taken inspiration from Chivalry. What sets them apart is their innovation in one facet of the Chivalry baseline. For Honor refined the combat system and added a basic story. Mordhau added unique game modes, horseback combat, and the lute. Kingdom Come added RPG elements in a story-driven experience. Chivalry 2 in comparison is laughably barebones, and hardly worth your time and energy. If you want a compelling medieval experience, I recommend anything in the market aside from Chiv 2. If you do want some mindless hack and slash fun, or find some value in a broken combat system, I wouldn’t spend more than $20 on it.

Flood dispersal pods begin to rain down on Chief and Arbiter as they make their way up the tower of the Control Room. The duo fight their way to the top with Spartan Laser support from Johnson, only for 343 Guilty Spark to force them to eradicate all Flood forces before allowing them into the facility.
Once inside, Chief hands off Cortana to Johnson, who uploads her into the system for the detonation process. Before Johnson is able to activate the ring, Spark demands that they wait for the construction of the ring be completed, to avoid its total destruction, as he is without purpose if he does not have a ring to oversee. He blasts Johnson with his Sentinel Beam, then follows up his bursts to Chief, lowering his shields. Chief continues to advance, only to be shot again by Spark, burning his armor and cooking his body. He gets to his feet and dodges multiple beams from Spark, his shields recharge and they begin their dual.
Johnson, regaining consciousness, shoots Spark with his Spartan Laser, damaging him and sending him scurrying to cover. Chief takes the Laser from Johnson, and delivers the killing blows to 343 Guilty Spark, destroying him.
Chief runs to Johnson's side, who is mortally wounded by the blast. In his dying breath, he tells Chief to never let her (Cortana) go, and to send him out with a bang. Chief holds Sgt. Avery Johnson as he dies in his arms, before activating the ring and escaping the control room.
As all is seemed to be lost, our heroes prepare to be engulfed and killed by the detonation of the ring.
The Arbiter speaks his condolences, "Even in death, your Sargent guides us all."
This reminds Cortana of the Forward Unto Dawn, and beckons the Chief and Arbiter to head up the cliffs, following Johnson's path.
They arrive outside the facility and find Johnson's Warthog. Spartan 117 gets behind the wheel, with fire support from Arbiter on the minigun. The two drive across the scaffoldings of the unfinished ring, racing against the clock to get to the Dawn and escape the firing of the ring. As the charging sequence ticks up, the ring begins to shake itself apart, large structures begin to topple into the middle of the ring, atomized by the extreme heat and pressure. Explosions erupt around the duo, scattering the square building blocks of this strange and foreign structure, as they tear across the landscape, dodging debris and evading the remaining Flood and Sentinel forces. They loop around a mountainside, dodging a huge collapsing pillar, and see the Dawn.
"Gun it, Chief! Jump! Floor it, right into the hangar!" -Cortana
They make the leap of faith, and slide into the hangar. The Arbiter runs to the cockpit, as Chief plugs in Cortana to a console in the open hangar. She immediately fires the engine, gunning the frigate towards the collapsing portal to home. The pull from the ring and the frigate shakes a Warthog and Scorpion free. The Warthog clips Chief, sending him toppling towards a certain death. He punches into the frigate floor, stopping him, and barely avoids being crushed by the Scorpion. He climbs back to Cortana.
"If we don't make it..." Cortana begins.
"We'll make it."
"It was an honor serving with you, John."
The detonation of the ring catches the Dawn, and all goes white.
Back on Earth, a ceremony is being held for those lost. The front section of the Frigate containing the Arbiter made it back. He survived the landing and was recovered by the UNSC. A section of the Dawn is used as a statue. There are flowers and photos of all those lost. Commander Jacob Keyes, his daughter, Miranda Keyes, and Sgt Avery Johnson amongst those lost and remembered. In the corner if the monument, hidden to most, lies three numbers etched in the metal. 117.
As the ceremony concludes. Lord Hood and the Arbiter exchange words and make peace with once another. Hood thanks him for seeing Chief to the end.
"Hard to believe he's dead."
"We're it so easy," The Arbiter reflects, before returning to the Supercarrier, and returning to his home world of Sanghelios...
The fight is over, and there is peace in the galaxy.
The Master Chief awakens to the sound of Cortana. They survived! Their section of the Dawn made it through the portal just as it collapsed, but sent them spiraling into deep space instead of sending them to Earth.
Cortana confirms the destruction of Truth, the Covenant, the ring, and the Flood. Spartan Sierra 117, the Master Chief, John, saved the universe and put an end to the Human Covenant war. He floats to a cryo-pod, hangs his assault rifle, and is finally able to rest.
"I'll miss you."
"Wake me, when you need me."
#Halo3 #MasterChief #FinishedTheFight
Now he returns to the belly of the beast, to right this wrong, save Cortana, and destroy the Flood.
As Chief presses through the passages he previously wreaked havoc in, Cortana and Gravemind contact him. Cortana has been suffering through the Logic Plague that Gravemind has set upon her. He is still trying to sap her of all of her information and corrupt her into their ranks, but she is still resisting and holding strong.
Chief rushes through the reactor room, into the Prophet's main chamber, and finds Cortana. He kept his promise, killed Truth, stopped the rings, and came back for her. Cortana, although being badly damaged and pained by the Gravemind's torture, is able to push through her anguish and return with Chief. She reveals that she still has the activation index from the first Halo ring, and will be able to use it to light this new and unfinished ring.
With Cortana back with Chief, the Gravemind, fueled with rage, sends everything he has at the duo. However, Chief is able to destabilize High Charity's main reactors and destroy the city. As he escapes through the tunnels, the duo detect a friendly contact. The Arbiter has chosen to infiltrate the city, recognizing that destroying the Flood is his fight too, and stands by the Master Chief to finish the fight alongside him. The Arbiter lays down covering fire for Chief and Cortana, as the trio escape via a Pelican.

Chief clears the beach of all Covenant troops, including a Chieftain, his honor guard, and an Anti-Air Wraith, before receiving reinforcements from Keyes. They arrive at the tower and destroy heavy reinforcements blockading the entrance. Chief pushes to the top of the tower and single-handedly dispatches another Chieftain and his honor guard before deactivating the tower.
117 overlooks the shielded valley of the Citadel and sees Tower 2 being deactivated, but Tower 3 does not fall. Johnson is unresponsive. Chief double times it to the beach, retrieves a Hornet, and destroys many Banshees, multiple Wraiths, Shade Turrets, a Phantom, and Brute ground forces from Tower 3 before pushing inside with the Arbiter and Elite reinforcements. In a time not long ago, these two species, these two beings, were at each others throats. Slaughtering each other because of the lies of the Covenant. Now they fight shoulder to shoulder into Tower 3, and are successful in deactivating it.
The barrier falls, and the Shipmasters Supercarrier pushes through to level the Citadel. Just as a lethal blow is about to be dealt to Truth's hideout, High Charity, brutally infested and completely overtaken by the Flood, slips to the Ark. A dispersal pod smashes through the Supercarrier, disabling it. Chief and the Arbiter are now forced to lead a direct assault and push into the Citadel themselves. Chief leads a ground assault, with the Arbiter taking to the skies. Chief pushes down the mountainside, demolishing the last remaining Brute reinforcements, topping off with the destruction two Scarab Tanks, before regrouping with the Arbiter and beginning the final push to Truth.
As they arrive at an elevator, a vision of Cortana floods Chief's visor. She reveals that the Gravemind is working to corrupt her, and she has revealed that the Ark is outside the range of all active rings, meaning it was free to rebuild and taint the entirety of the Ark.
Truth then interrupts his vision, and shows that he has Sgt. Johnson held hostage. Before forcing Johnson to activate the rings, as they can only be activated by a Forerunner or human, who are descendants of the Forerunners, Keyes crashes through the front of the Citadel in a Pelican in a desperate attempt to save Johnson and the universe. She fights off multiple Brutes, before determining that Johnson and Keyes must sacrifice themselves in order to rob Truth of his ultimate victory. But before she is able to pull the trigger, Truth impales her with multiple rounds from a Spiker. He then forces Johnson to activate the Ark, and all the active rings in the galaxy begin to charge and prepare to fire.
Chief and the Arbiter arrive at the top of the elevator, only to be stopped by two Flood Tanks. The Gravemind projects through the Tanks and tells the duo that only Chief can stop what has been set in motion, and that they will guide them to Truth. The overwhelming masses of the Flood begin to infect all the remaining Covenant forces, and Chief and the Arbiter are able to make it to the pedestal and Truth.
The Arbiter and the Gravemind enact their final revenge. The Gravemind has infected Truth and begins to ravage and taint Truth internally, while the Arbiter interrogates him, forcing him to watch as Chief deactivates the rings, and then stabs him to death with his energy sword.
Chief, Arbiter, and Johnson, attempt to leave via Miranda's Pelican, only for the Flood to betray them and foil Chief and Arbiter's extraction. They wipe out the Flood and escape via an air duct. Upon landing, a mirage of Cortana leads Chief to an overlook... revealing an unfinished Halo ring, hidden in the Ark. Cortana had tricked the Gravemind, and knew this ring was here. The only thing left to do was light it and destroy the Flood once and for all.
This was Cortana's plan. Her solution to the Flood and the Covenant. Convince Chief to follow Truth through the portal, track him down, and stop his plans. All the while she was manipulating the Gravemind into fully dedicating his troops and himself to the Ark, with the promises of an untouched sector of the galaxy that was out of range of the rings, and free for him to corrupt.
As if the battle of the Ark wasn't brutal enough on Chief, a return to High Charity and a solo battle against the Flood was about to begin.
"I. Am. Truth! The voice of the Covenant!"
"And so, you must be silenced."
#Halo3 #MasterChief #FinishTheFight
They discover a fortified wall, blocking their progression, and a landing zone for Miranda's Frigate. The landing zone is the priority, as one frigate cannot withstand the firepower of Covenant cruisers. Chief follows Johnson to the landing zone, clearing Covenant troops throughout the push.
After eliminating Covenant air defenses and ground forces, the Forward Unto Dawn enters the atmosphere and drops Chief a fleet of tanks. He pushes through waves of Covenant forces, including a fleet of Wraiths, backed by Phantoms, Ghosts, Choppers, Shade Turrets, and a Scarab, before finding the cartographer and the name of this Forerunner facility... The Ark.
They learn the Ark sits outside the Milky Way galaxy, and that there is a Citadel that can trigger all active Halo rings at once. This would eliminate all life across multiple galaxies.
Chief heads down to an evac site and links up with Johnson and Keyes. Time is running short to get to the Citadel, stop Truth, and save the universe.
#Halo3 #MasterChief #FinishTheFight
The Flood is overwhelming, immediately overtaking the city and infecting all bio-material in sight. The only way to stop the spread is to make it to the engine room of the crashed Covenant ship, overload the engines, and destroy all of Voi.
Chief and Arbiter make it close to their destination, when the Shadow of Intent carrier drops Elite reinforcements. The news is broken that High Charity has completely succumbed to the Flood, and that the Elites believe Cortana is onboard the crashed ship. The duo race to the ship, and Master Chief makes the plunge into the bowels in order to retrieve his lost companion.
As he recovers Cortana, a familiar drone makes an appearance. 343 Guilty Spark. He takes the construct and all parties are recovered into a Covenant cruiser, as half of Africa is glassed by the Elites.
Unfortunately this is not Cortana, just a recording. However, Cortana beckons for Chief to head into the portal and stop Truth, claiming that not only can he defeat him once and for all, but that there is also a solution for the Flood. Lord Hood believes that their fight is on Earth, but Chief disagrees.
"I'll find Cortana's solution, and I'll bring it back."
"Earth...is all we have left. You trust Cortana that much?"
"Sir. Yes, sir."
#Halo3 #MasterChief #FinishTheFight
Chief is successful is downing multiple AA Wraiths, and a Scarab tank, before linking up with the Arbiter to tag-team one last target - a massive AA Battery. The two punch through waves of Brutes and disable the battery. Multiple frigates and longswords rain hell on Truth's ship and 'The Ark', only for the massive object to send out a massive shockwave, blowing Chief and the Arbiter into the rocks behind them.
Cortana visits Chief again, this time with words of warning.
"This is the way the world ends."
John recovers and finds himself staring at a portal to an unknown location. Truth's ship and the rest of the Covenant fleet passing into it.
Before the UNSC can comprehend what just happened, a new vector portals to Earth...
"What is it? More Brutes?"
"...Worse."
#MasterChief #Halo3 #FinishTheFight
They mount up in a couple of Warthogs and take off down the Tsavo Highway towards Voi, with the ultimate goal of regrouping with Keyes, Johnson, Hood's fleet, and the rest of the UNSC. Truth has uncovered what they believe to be 'The Ark', a holy relic that will allow them to light all of the galaxies Halo rings at the same time.
They cannot allow this to happen.

This game offers the players a myriad of tools, puzzles, mini-games, Easter eggs, and set pieces. However what really sets it apart is the story that it tells, and the messages it holds. It Takes Two holds a compelling and powerful narrative within it, that has a lot to say about relationship struggles, change, waning love, and waning passions. I have an unwavering respect for Hazelight and It Takes Two for risking it all to tell what is very clearly a passion project that hits close to home. They are beyond successful in presenting this story, and weaving gameplay into its narrative.
However the game is not flawless. It Takes Two deserves all the praise and high scores amongst various reviewers, but it falls short in two major ways.
Firstly, the game overstays its welcome. There are sections of borderline filler that can be outright removed and would cost the game nothing. It became a chore to continue through some sections, as not only are the puzzles too easy, but there is a "Rule of Three" that is apparent from beginning to end.
Secondly, and more importantly, the game does not stick the ending. After traversing the world, solving puzzles, playing mini-games, exploring, and watching the story unfold, I was disappointed that there was minimal payoff and not a grand catharsis. Although I understand the writers thought process, and have come to terms with this less than definitive ending, it is still a disappointment. Especially so, considering that there are breadcrumbs scattered throughout that hint at this grand catharsis. Cody growing a spine and telling May about how he feels that a divorce isn't the right choice and that they can both do better, vowing to make changes necessary to be a better husband. May coming to terms with her imperfections and neglect, vowing to make more time for Rose and Cody, and be more aware of Cody's feelings. There are many scenes that are impactful and metaphorical, but the final cutscene does not deliver the payoff that it should.
Overall, I found myself griping throughout the playthrough, but looking back, it is a fond memory and a great experience. The story has a lot to say, that both myself and my partner could personally relate to. I give a glimpse of the end of my past relationship in this video, as It Takes Two reopened an old wound, and reminded me of my past transgressions with someone I loved. I respect it for that. On top of that, getting the opportunity to build further comradery and connection with a life-long friend, purposefully killing each other, sweating hard during the mini-games, and getting frustrated when the other party misses their mark or can't figure out a puzzle, are entertaining hours that I was grateful to spend with him. I took a lot away from this game, even as a bachelor playing with a strictly platonic friend. I could only imagine what great insights It Takes Two could grant to couples who play this together.
Definitely worth the full $40 asking price, and I look forward to returning to It Takes Two with someone special down the road.

As the group conversates, Truth himself hijacks their transmission and begins invading Crow's Nest. Master Chief and the Arbiter are tasked with punching a hole through the Covenant's defenses, giving Keyes, Johnson, and many wounded Marines a window for escape.
The base is lost to the overwhelming Covenant forces, but not before the UNSC rigged charges throughout the base. Chief retakes the control room and arms the bomb, finding his escape in a service elevator. As the facility begins to detonate, the voice of Cortana calls out to him...
"This place will become your home..."
"This place will become your tomb..."

Sgt. Johnson, a group of Marines, and the Arbiter find the armor locked Spartan. Chief wakes up, ready to get back into the fight, and spots the cloaked Arbiter. He takes Johnson's handgun from his hip, and puts it in the Elite's jowl, only to learn that the Elite's were betrayed by the Covenant and the Arbiter is assisting the humans in their hunt for the final Prophet.
With a weary armistice, the group takes a walk in the woods, only for Johnson and team to get separated and captured by a Brute Chieftain. While tracking the Sergeant, Chief sees visions of Cortana, and it is clear that he is used to having his AI companion with her, is upset that they are apart, and wants to save her from the Gravemind. But if Truth is not stopped first, there won't be a Cortana to save.
He pushes past his internal struggle, kills the Chieftain and his Honor Guard, and is retrieved by a Pelican. Their destination is Crow's Nest, one of the last remaining military installations on the continent.

They are to secure a rogue Huragok named Vergil that has taken refuge there. Vergil has assimilated the Superintendent's data with its own knowledge, making it an extremely valuable defector to the UNSC and a major liability for the Covenant. The duo secures Vergil, and Buck arrives to assist after having an epiphany of Dare's location.
The team then fights through massive resistance thanks to Vergil producing overshields for them, and makes their way to the Coastal Highway for escape and evac.
