Join us as we discuss the importance of re-learning and rediscovering the traditional foods that our ancestors ate before colonialsm and monoculture made us all a lot more vulnerable to pests, disease and climate change..! Just like your host Gwyneth, Carwyn hails from Wales, so we discuss a variety of traditional Welsh foods and the importance of "coming back to our roots" in terms of what we eat.
This was the article that made me reach out to Carwyn: resilience.org/stories/2022-05-24/a-local-food-renaissance-in-wales

All of the stories would give him practical tools to deal with the problems he faced at school while reinforcing a positive view of himself. Trina believes EQ in schools could change the world and create more purpose-driven adults. She says on her bi-weekly podcast EQaboveIQ that "we are all children walking around in adult suits pretending we have all figured out while we spread our trauma to everyone we meet, especially our children! We must protect and heal children to create a sustainable and compassionate world for adults".

A short interview with Charles Tauber from the Coalition for work with Psychtrauma and Peace (www.cwwpp.org), in which we discuss:
*Charles's history of working with refugees and people in conflict zones (00:30)
*How those of us taking in refugees into our homes can make sure we are not making their trauma worse, as well as how to make sure we are looking after ourselves (7:40)
*Charles's free Pragmatic Empowerment Training course, whose main aim is to increase capacity in mental health and peacebuilding by educating a wide variety of people, especially those who never have had training in these areas before. The aim is thus to create “barefoot” therapists and peacebuilders who can work on the front line in their communities under the supervision of people with further experience and education. (13:50)
*PSTD vs Post Traumatic Stress Reactions (16:45)
*CWWPP's ideas for upcoming "train the trainer" groups - the idea is to train people who can then take what they have learnt into their own communities (18:30)
If you are interested in joining our upcoming meeting on March 25th, 20:00 CET, we will be discussing how to meet your needs. Proposed ideas are the creation of an educational group for trainers of trainers, supervision groups for helpers, and drop-in/discussion groups for refugees - please contact CWWPP at cwwpp.org/contact-us.html

Harriet Sams is an archaeologist, ecotherapist, freelance lecturer, yoga teacher, spiritual Guide, member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, mother and student.
From a very young age, Harriet has been in close connection to the landscape; especially to ancestral messages that are all around us, written onto the landscape. On rare occasions, the Voice of the world speaks to her and calls her into Service and Harriet interprets these messages as the voice of the ecological Whole; indivisible between human ancestor and landscape, all speaking with one voice. Through this awareness, she has realised that the land itself is where the healing resides. Harriet’s work is all about helping participants to directly access the healing the land/ancestors can bring the individual, working as facilitator for this awareness and guide for support.
Druidry and Quakerism guide her work; aspects of these spiritual traditions weave themselves into her teachings and offerings.
She is currently undertaking a PhD in archaeotherapy with Bournemouth University, is on the advisory Boards for the Climate Psychology Alliance and for Radical Joy for Hard Times, an eco-spirituality charity. Please see www.radicaljoy.org
She occasionally writes a blog at www.nwyfre.com about ecotherapeutic motherhood, amongst other things.

Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Fiston experienced poverty, vulnerability, and perpetual hunger from a young age. At the age of 11, his family fled the conflict and were labelled 'refugees'. The label stuck with Fiston and shaped his personality and outlook on life. Seven years ago, after deciding to escape DRC and head into Uganda, he was captured by rebel groups and forced to join militia. He eventually managed to escape, and lived on the streets for some time. It was here that he first felt supported and a sense of community, and thanks to having taught himself English over the years from online videos, he began teaching English for a small allowance.
He has since found himself in Nakivale Refugee Resettlement camp, Uganda, where life continues to offer seemingly unending challenges and hardships. The Story Anew is a podcast and video series in which we'll meet amazing people from all over the world who are working to redefine the dominant narrative of our times - that of infinite growth and consumption. These are the people working towards what Joanna Macy calls The Great Turning - the shifting of our Industrial Growth Society, which prioritises infinite growth over life - to a Life Sustaining Society.

John Moore, former president of Patagonia Japan is a social entrepreneur, a permaculture teacher, and a protector of seeds, soil and life. Living in Japan, he has been growing organic food for over 45 years. He is the CEO of the Seeds of Life Institute; an international, sustainable education and research centre of Seeds of Life, Japan. Seeds of Life, Japan has inspired and produced local seed libraries across Japan for almost two decades.
In their own words: The aim of Seeds of Life Institute (sol-institute.com) is to restore natural capitals into local nutrition ECOnomies. This network of local ECOnomies are networked into an off and online system of sustainable food. Seeds of Life Institute focuses on youth training local botanical engineers, trainers and local organisers with skills to support the next generation of inclusive local communities.
In this wonderful conversation (part 1 because it was so long!), John and Gwyneth discuss soil, seeds, GMO (F1) seeds and the shocking lack of education and understanding that people have over what they are putting into their bodies.

Rahul is a poet and speaks the language of love. He is a passionate traveler and explorer. Dissatisfied with the existing system, from an early age, he often found himself pondering over real issues of education, social injustice, the role of money etc. When he realized his questions and inquisitiveness did not have a place in his education setup, he decided to walk out of it in pursuit of learning from alternative modes of education and worked with various grassroots movements to deepen his knowledge. He extensively travelled across India and created a gap year project ‘52 Parindey’ to bring out the stories of change by common people and expand his understanding of deeper issues such as climate change, sustainability, and education. Later he started Travellers’ University in 2018. He designs travel based experiential learning programs for youth to lead an intentional life for a sustainable, equitable and just world.

The people you'll meet are working in regeneration, activism, systems design, permaculture, trauma healing, decolonisation, climate change and generally working to fundamentally change the way we do things as a species so that we can live on this planet more harmoniously with our fellow beings and become good ancestors.
Hosted by Gwyneth Jones (www.gwynethjones.coach)

In this episode, we talk about how coaching can grapple with the climate crisis. How do we bring the earth into the room as a stakeholder - and should we? How do we balance our knowledge of what is happening with our work as a coach?

Here is what Cadence says about herself: At the age of 18, I was initiated to the ways of the Earth and have been in a state of surrender to it's guidance ever since. I have facilitated nature-based education and healing for nearly 20 years throughout Turtle Island (North America). Upon completion of my Bachelors in Outdoor, Experiential Education and Masters in Environmental Education, I felt called to deepen into this work and began facilitating land-based rites of passage. As a queer settler of mostly Celtic and Slavic ancestry, I am dedicated to helping us remember the sense of the village and what it means to be in direct connection with our deepest selves, each other, and the Earth.
