KukszliLabPlaying with a magnet and ferrofluid in penetrating oil under an OMAX 40X-2500X LED Digital Trinocular Lab Compound Microscope. Magnification ~160x (until 2:50) and ~650x (till end).
Not yet controlled by the music but I'd like to try it using an electromagnet.

Rodin Starship Coil (Mandela Coil) is a nice and easy to make coil design and a good electromagnet. This coil is made of 27AWG copper magnet wire having ~40 turns.

I will be using this coil for some experiments, planning to show its magnetic field through a ferrocell, ferrofoil in a coming video. The coil is made of 27AWG copper magnet wire having ~40 turns.
Just replicated the experiment of freezing water in magnetic field using a sphere silicone mold. First seen in Ken's "Magnetic Egg" videos: youtube.com/watch?v=GwG1p5C5miQ&t
Music: In Albany New York by The 126ers from YouTube Audio Library youtube.com/watch?v=PHRt8RxLrkASphere FerroMold - Crystal Resin ferrofluid mold w/ magnetKukszliLab2017-04-17 | Here is the video of my sphere shape FerroMold. Crystal Resin with ferrofluid hardened in a sphere silicone mold with an N52 magnet in the center. Not a clear view but at least some effect could be seen, maybe with better lighting it could be more visible. There is still a lot of room to play with the ratios of the mixture...
Music ⓒ - Chris Zabriskie Out of the Skies, Under the Earth | YouTube Audio Library youtube.com/watch?v=Vkr9jzCTvq4FerroMold - Frozen ferrocell using Crystal ResinKukszliLab2017-04-09 | FerroMold is an improved version of the "FerroStill" using Gedeo Crystal Resin instead of the nail polish which makes it possible to have a very clear view of the "frozen" field like a real ferrocell but without the magnet. It also makes easier to observe the ferrofluid "needles" under the microscope (video is under processing). Next to try is a sphere shaped mold with the magnet in the center.

This is an older video I made last July but it is still interesting :)

Follow up video is coming soon with a "live" ferrocell.Ferrostill - 3D view frozen into the Ferrocell after removing the magnet!KukszliLab2017-03-17 | I finally managed to "burn" the field into the ferrocell so that the 3D view remains even after removing the magnet. Still need to refine the process but it is already good enough to observe the ferrofluid formation under the microscope.iPhone 7 Screen Protector converted into magnetic viewer! - FerroFoilKukszliLab2017-03-13 | and now here is the FerroFoil :)
Thanks to Mike Palazzola, Scientific Lee and Brian Kerr for the ideas and inspirations! The ferrocell virus is already in the air as I already ordered the screen protector to try it and Brian Kerr also came up with the idea but I think this is quite normal, credit goes to the collective mind! :)
Still lot to improve on fluid distribution, solution etc. The foil didn't survived the night, after just few hours nothing could be seen through it.
