Working with granular synthesis is a bit like using a musical microscope. You can zoom in on tiny pieces of sound (grains) and play them back in creative and unexpected ways. Its like having a tiny orchestra of musical grains that you can control to create something entirely new. Thavius begins by discussing the fundamentals of granular synthesis, from grains and grain shape to file position and spray. You learn how to use the LFO to add movement and life to your granular sounds, and how to modulate the file position with the LFO.
