ABB has once again pushed the boundaries of industrial performance. As part of our Top Industrial Efficiency (TIE) initiative, we’ve engineered a large synchronous motor that has achieved an unprecedented 99.13% energy efficiency.
Designed for a steel plant in India, this motor will help save approximately 61 GWh of energy and $5.9 million in electricity costs over its 25-year lifespan, while avoiding 45,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. This milestone reflects ABB’s commitment to helping industries outrun, leaner and cleaner, by delivering solutions that go beyond standards.
