In this video we return to our filament experimentation to see if we can find a support material that works well with TPU. TPU is an awesome flexible filament that is great for functional applications but it does not do well with overhangs or bridging. Normally you can just use the same material as your model for supports with reasonable results, but this is not the case with TPU. The hopes is that we are able to use a dual extrusion printer to find an alternative support material that will give us clean TPU prints.

Over the past couple of months I have begun to see high flow PLA popping up from a few filament makers. The main aim seems to be that it prints better at higher speeds than its not high flow versions. I have been a bit skeptical so today we are going to test a roll of Creality's Hyper PLA against a more standard PLA+. We will run a series of flow tests to see how they match up.

In todays video we dive into an extruder that I have really grown to love these past few months - The Orbiter v2.0. Its small, lightweight and packs an absolute punch. Great for regular, flexible, or abrasive printing even at quick speeds. We will go over its history, what makes it special, and install the runout sensor v2.2 onto my Mercury 1.1 printer.
With the increase in popularity of Klipper firmware we have begun to see the rise of Klipper Tablets. These allow you to convert one or multiple printers to Klipper without the need of a pi and give you a nice touch screen interface to control them. So far there have been limitations like forked versions of Klipper and no root access. In this video we look at the Pad 7, BigTreeTechs take on these standalone devices. Although I have been playing around with Klipper firmware for some time now, there are always new things I am learning. Most recently I did a deep dive into the different options for controlling fans. This came about due to me wanting to set up fans to be temperature controlled. With the release of more Klipper printers I wanted to dive in to discuss the different fan types, how to monitor board temp in klipper, and how to make your board fans smarter by setting a temp range for them.

After getting my Mercury 1.1 up on stream adaptive bed leveling was recommended to me to speed up the starting sequence. I had never heard of it prior but now that I have it set up I am shocked this is not the standard for mesh bed leveling. It is quicker, and creates a denser mesh than you would normally get probing your entire bed.
Many years ago someone told me they were combing PLA and PETG on their dual extrusion 3d printer and having really good success with it. Since then I have wanted to try it out but either forgot or didnt have a machine capable. Today we will take a look at how well this does or doesnt work.
Well, I thought I was finally going to dive into Variashore TPU but LW-PLA ended up being inside the box. So today, we look at LW-PLA. This is not the first time we have looked at a lightweight filament and we did cover LW-ASA last year. LW-PLA does not require an enclosure and is a bit more friendly to print with. We will look at the material properties, why you may want to print with it, how to print with it, and of course, we will do some printing.

CAN Bus is something I have wanted to dive into for almost a year now but for one reason or another always made an excuse. Well I finally sat down and it was way less straightforward than I had expected. This was primarily due to scattered instructions, different board revisions, and missing details. The Bambu Lab P1P is an impressive CoreXY 3d printer. For its $699 it hard to complain about the out of box performance it gives. The main things I was missing was the ability to print with abrasives and ABS/ASA due to it not being enclosed. In today's video we will go through the upgrade process for the extruder and hotend along with take a look at the Vision enclosure.
Dual and multi extrusion 3d printing is awesome, but it often requires a fair bit of calibration to get it working correctly. For the XY offsets, the typical method involves printing a calibration print, taking measurements, and repeating the process until you are happy with the results. In today's video we take a look at the CXC from Ember Prototypes. The CXC is a USB camera that paired with their Windows Application can greatly speed up this process. We will look at the traditional method, the camera method, and go through the process with the Sovol SV04.
With the recent releases of a few large form factor i3 printers, I wanted to run through some things to consider. 3d printers have come a long way over the years but there are some things you should know before picking up one of these large machines. My goal is not to scare you out of getting one but to at least make sure you know what you are getting into.
Calibrating dual or multi extrusion 3d printers typically consists of a series of calibration prints to align the tool heads. The process can be tedious and often requires repeating the print a few times to get your measurements correct. With the XY Calibration Camera, you simply align each nozzle with the camera and enter the absolute coordinates to get your offset. No more printing and no more measuring.
In this video we are diving into the Klicky Probe specifically the KlackEnder variant. This version of the Klicky Probe was designed by KevinAKASam to work with the Ender 3 as well as a handful of other Creality printers. (The main consideration is the backplate). The mod is super affordable, very repeatable, and a ton of fun to watch. I will take you as step by step through the install process as possible.
