Population studies have found that healthy diets tend to be associated with less severe facial aging. This is likely because unhealthy foods may increase the oxidative stress load, be pro-inflammatory, and contain or produce advanced glycation end products, whereas healthier foods may provide protection by having an inside-out sunscreen effect, stimulating collagen production and DNA repair.
This could help explain why eating predominantly meat and junk is associated with more wrinkles, while having lots of fruits, vegetables, and nuts has the opposite effect.
Indeed, eating more healthfully may reduce wrinkling, which could actually save lives. You may start making healthier food choices to maintain a more youthful appearance, but you’ll also get all the chronic disease prevention benefits as a happy, positive side effect.
In the video “How to Prevent Wrinkles with Diet," I dive into the research on specific foods, such as flaxseeds, almonds, and soy, that may help protect our skin as we age. See the video at https://see.nf/45hKLZx.
In my “How Not to Age – Live Presentation," I discuss the benefits of cocoa powder for skin improvements, as well as measures we can take to help keep our skin youthful. See the video at https://see.nf/47dqCnJ.

Researchers found a significant boost in natural killer cell activity in men and women after they spent a weekend walking in the woods. The same results were even seen after just a one-day trip to the woods, and the natural killer cell activity was still boosted a week later.
In a study comparing walking in a city versus a forest, 80 percent of the subjects walking in the woods experienced a boost in natural killer cell activity, compared to only one in ten of the city walkers. Moreover, researchers found that the increased natural killer cell activity lasted up to 30 days after the stroll in the forest. Learn more and see the studies referenced in the video "Boosting Anticancer Immunity with Forest Bathing" at bit.ly/3qeeOhP.
Can the aroma of wood essential oils replicate the immune-boosting effects of walking in a forest? See the video “Why Does Forest Bathing Boost Natural Killer Cell Function?” at bit.ly/32uh6Nh to find out.
In my Daily Dozen, I recommend that you strive for a minimum of 90 minutes of moderate or 40 minutes of vigorous exercise every day.
Next time you take a walk, try to go to the forest or a wooded park for the added benefits of boosting your anticancer immunity. nutritionfacts.org/daily-dozen/

I did a Bananas in Smoothies (youtube.com/watch?v=8grTXcdeZ-E&t=22s) live presentation with Q&A in November, if you want to check it out. Bottom line: Mixing bananas with certain healthy foods, like cocoa powder and possibly berries, may reduce some of their benefits.

I’m all in favor of Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Health (nutritionfacts.org/video/taking-personal-responsibility-for-your-health), but the strong-arm Big Tobacco-style tactics of the multitrillion-dollar food industry are contributing to the deaths of an estimated 14 million people every year.
I’ve talked about this before in videos such as:
• Food Industry-Funded Research Bias (nutritionfacts.org/video/food-industry-funded-research-bias)
• Big Food Using the Tobacco Industry Playbook (nutritionfacts.org/video/big-food-using-the-tobacco-industry-playbook)

• The Food Industry Wants the Public Confused About Nutrition (nutritionfacts.org/video/the-food-industry-wants-the-public-confused-about-nutrition)
And specifically about sugar in Sugar Industry Attempts to Manipulate the Science (nutritionfacts.org/video/sugar-industry-attempts-to-manipulate-the-science).
This is part of an ongoing series I’m creating about breakfast cereals and is a follow-up to The Worst Food for Tooth Decay (nutritionfacts.org/video/the-worst-food-for-tooth-decay) and How to Stop Tooth Decay (nutritionfacts.org/video/how-to-stop-tooth-decay).
Are there any healthy cereals? A few make the cut. See The Five-to-One Fiber Rule (nutritionfacts.org/video/the-five-to-one-fiber-rule/).
