Things I Can Do In Slow Motion
updated
This week I wanted to find out how difficult it is to make convincing deepfakes. I set the milestone at 100 hours of learning and present my results.
I used DeepFaceLab to make this: github.com/iperov/DeepFaceLab
Inspired by the work of @CtrlShiftFace

This week I wanted to find out how skilled downhill world cup riders really are. To do this, I found the tallest guy in the mountain biking and put him on the smallest bike I could find. Can he still beat me without all the fancy gear? Lets find out.
Thanks to @BenCathro from @pinkbike for agreeing to this!

Can my chess cheating device get past the metal detector wand commonly used at chess tournaments to screen for cheat devices? In this video I also test out a faraday cage to see if it is a viable solution for preventing radio signals reaching my device. This device was made in response to the chess cheating scandal involving Hans Niemann and Magnus Carlsen, originating at the Sinquefield Cup 2022.

Amidst the cheating controversy that, at the time of publishing, is still unfolding in the chess world between Hans Niemann, Magnus Carlsen and chess.com, I thought I'd try and see if "that" cheat device is actually possible. How easy is it to make? Can it actually be used to defeat high level players? Can I, a programming and electronics n00b make one? Let's find out.

After JUST scoring 62% in the written entrance exam to study mathematics at Oxford University, I return this time to face the interview. Luckily @TomRocksMaths was there to help me through it. If you have a college interview coming up, there are some tips to help you through it featured in the video.

Thanks to @StevenBridges for teaching me. Go check out his channel for REAL card counting in the casino for real money.
This week I learned to count cards. We replicated a real blackjack game to see, if working in a team with Steven Bridges, we could make a profit. I spent 4 days learning to count cards.

Last week, I got robbed. So I built this device to hopefully improve security. It's based on a Raspberry Pi and uses a 4G dongle to wirelessly send notifications to my phone using Pushbullet. It controls lights, a camera and a siren.

In this episode I learn the baseball bat trick. I first saw Josh Womack do this in a video and thought I ought to try it myself. The trick involves performing a full 360 degree spin of the bat in mid air during your swing.

In this episode I learn to solve the Pyraminx. A pyramid shaped version of the Rubik's cube. I try to do so entirely intuitively; that is no algorithms or guides. How long will it take me to learn?

In this episode I learn to find water in the forest. An ancient bush craft technique, tapping birch trees can produce litres of drinkable hydration if you know how. Please only try this on trees that you own.
