(Blender 3D) Kaleidoscope Demo

Crimson Cloud 2021-03-21 | An experimental project utilizing a cool trick in Blender that creates an interesting 'kaleidoscope' illusion. The footage is taken from old home videos and projects, and the song is 'You Can Feel the Sky' by Boards of Canada, courtesy of Warp Records.

I was inspired by the cover art of Geogaddi and became interested in achieving a similar effect through 3D software, surprisingly not difficult. I adjusted any other visual or sound effects in Premiere.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion - (Full Soundtrack)

Crimson Cloud 2020-12-31 | The official soundtrack to Turok 3, Shadow of Oblivion, released on the Nintendo 64 in 2000, later ported to Gameboy Color. A direct sequel to Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Turok 3 has the player take control of either Joseph or Danielle Fireseed, siblings to Joshua Fireseed (Turok 2 Protagonist), to battle through five distinct levels in order to destroy a cosmic evil known as 'Oblivion'.

Story-wise, Turok 3 was a neat entry that had many bizarre, interesting ideas going for it, but unfortunately, it never had a proper follow-up. Instead, what came afterward was Turok Evolution, a mediocre prequel which was Acclaim's final entry for the franchise, and then the generic 2008 release by Touchstone which was loosely based on the rest of the games/comics. Ultimately, the story ends at Turok 3.

And on a personal note...Wow, it's been a while since I've uploaded any soundtracks! About a third of them have been pulled for copy written content, unfortunately. And also, the cover photo of Turok 3 had originally been my profile photo for Youtube since I started in 2008 under the 'Blazeofdoom' name. Yup, I go way back with Turok 3, originally playing it when I rented it at Blockbuster in 2000 or so when I was about 6 years old...and then later recording the soundtrack to a cassette tape in '04 or '05. I never thought 15 years in the future I'd be doing the same thing with the same game (Except with Youtube and not Cassettes). Come on Night Dive, we're waiting for a remaster of TUROK 3!

Released during a period where many older rock bands (as well as band themselves) had started to form reunions. The Stupids however, had faced negative feedback for their record with many sources stating 'some things are better left in the past'. I disagree, 'The Kids Don't Like It' is a traditional Stupids album through and through, it fits with their older catalogue, it has very smooth and talented playing, and fun lyrics.

Crimson Cloud 2016-07-05 | 'Streetcleaner' is the first full-length release from the Godflesh catalogue and also their second release. Paul Neville from 'Fall of Because' rejoins the band for several tracks as guitarist. This album was heavily praised and even awarded on several magazines and music publishing companies for many years. The music is very fitting to that of a war.

Godflesh - Godflesh (Full Album)

Crimson Cloud 2016-07-04 | The 'Godflesh' EP was released by the one of the Industrial Metal Pioneers who go by the same name: Godflesh. This EP was released in 1988 where Justin Broadrick had recently parted ways with Napalm Death after their 'Scum' release. Broadrick would team up with the members from 'Fall of Because' and would later start 'Godflesh'.

This album is packed with pounding riffs with heavily reverb guitars and a strong bass. Echoes of dark, urban reality come true with this visceral blend of industrial sound, droning riffs, electronic drum-beats, and heavily unintelligible vocals shouting about the Dog-Eat-Dog reality we live in. The song's have enough variation in sound (or noise) to make every track interesting and never boring, don't let the tag of this being "industrial" fool you. Godflesh has been considered one of the pioneers of the Industrial Metal sub-genre around the late 80s, and listening to this nowadays is guaranteed to be just as kick ass today as it was back then. Grade A material here.

Songwriting wise it's very punky and has traces of grindcore, taking influences from many different bands to create a great bundle of kickass and apocalyptic tunes. In this album, the frontman of Entombed, LG Petrov, takes the lead as the vocals. The guitars are very crisp and carry a punk edge to them, definitely a contrast to the muddy 'Left Hand Path'. Since I discovered Comecon before Entombed, I was totally blown away by the crazy leads and evil sound, the average death metal listener around this time however, dismissed it as too generic and the album didn't sell too well, nor did any of their other material.

Comecon holds a special place in my heart for being straightforward, serious, and odd, as well as enabling me to discover Entombed and Pestilence. It was my first exposure to Swedish Death Metal, and I quickly found out why it was so kickass. Years ago I uploaded their third album in individual videos, check those out as well! Comecon, you dudes Rock! Awesome High School memories.

Entombed - Dagger and Untitled Demo

Crimson Cloud 2015-12-31 | I couldn't find Entombed's 'Dagger' anywhere online so I decided to upload it. The track appeared on the their 'Same Difference' album as a bonus song. The second track appeared on the 10 track Reissue. I used pictures of their 1997-2003 lineup with Petrov, Uffe, Alex, Jorg, and Peter, because that's my favorite lineup of theirs before Uffe and Jorg left, don't get me wrong, their current lineup is good, but since I was (still am) a big fan of their Hard Rock/Death Metal material, this era of Entombed was by far the most enjoyable for me! The second and third to last images were taken from some of their orchestras where they had an actual symphony play Entombed's 'Clandestine' tracks with Uffe, Alex, and Ovar from past Entombed lineups on board. It's a shame that LG, Alex, and Uffe won't be playing together anytime soon, but lawsuit bullshit is never a fun impasse for bands. Oh well.

Crimson Cloud 2014-12-16 | Twelfth album in the Stratovarius' Discography, Polaris. This was the first album not to feature founding member Timo Tolkki on guitars and instead was replaced with the current guitarist, Matias Kupiainen. Many fans disparage Stratovarius since Tolkki's departure since he was the songwriter for many great classics from their previous records. Even though Tolkki is no longer part of the band, Stratovarius still retains the sound and songwriting that they are known for and manage to breathe new life into the music as many members of the band contribute to the song compositions.

Crimson Cloud 2014-12-15 | Entombed's eighth full length album, released in August 2003, as well as a few tracks from their 'Averno' EP. It was the last album to feature long-time member and founder Ulf 'Uffe' Cederlund on guitars, as well as Jorgan Sandstrom on bass and Peter Stjarnvind on drums. The tone of album is extremely raw and violent, similar to Uffe's guitar tone on 'Murder Squad', and the songwriting has a lot of D-beat, Hardcore, and Death Metal influence going on with the usual Death 'n' Roll sound that Entombed is known for.

Omnitron - Somewhere, Sometime, Someone Is Nude Youre Dressed

Crimson Cloud 2014-12-15 | An extremely rare record by Omnitron. Those familiar with the band know that they were also known as "The Krixhjalters" and recorded one full length album as well as a couple of EP's and demos in the 1980's before switching to "Omnitron" in 1990. However, those were thrash/punk metal albums that carry influence from many different genres, this is a full out Funk/Hip-Hop album that might leave some listeners scratching their heads in confusion. Getting a hold of this album was definitely a tough one, as it is a rarity, so enjoy the listen.

Crimson Cloud 2014-12-15 | The ninth and final full-length album from the Swedish Death Metal Band, 'Entombed' before switching the name over to the new found 'Entombed A.D.' This album is the first to not feature the founding member and guitarist Ulf Cederlund, but instead has Alex Hellid covering the guitars. Peter Stjarnvind is also no longer on drums and is replaced with Olle Dahlstedt and Jörgen Sandström has also been replaced with Nico Elgstrand on bass between the 'Inferno' and 'Serpent Saints' release. Yup, its an all new lineup! But does this mean that it isn't Entombed? 'Serpent Saints' has often been referred to as their return to their Death Metal roots, and partially that's true, but it still contains a heavy amount of their DeathnRoll influence. This is actually a very tongue-and-cheek album with very goofy lyrics and sort of weird songwriting that is both catchy and unpredictable.
