We need leaders to make the changes that will ensure a swift and fair transition to a greener world and prevent runaway climate collapse. These should start with:
- Urgently reaching net-zero carbon emissions globally by 2035.
- Placing environmental justice and human rights at the centre of climate discussions and action.
- A whole of government, whole of economy approach to achieve system-wide change now.
- Nature-based solutions are important solutions to the biodiversity and climate crisis. They must be better protected for the key role they play.
- Supporting poorer nations with investment and renewable technology transfers.
World leaders have an opportunity to come together in Glasgow for the
Climate Summit (COP26) in November and literally save humanity from pain,
disruption, decay and decline never seen before in human history. They must act.
