A century in the making, The Gracie 100 event brought the Gracie family home to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for an unforgettable celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. And the result was part reunion, part seminar, and part living history.
The weekend felt like a once-in-a-lifetime gathering: multiple generations of Gracie family members together in the same space, reconnecting, embracing, laughing, and sharing stories that span the earliest days of the art to its modern global impact. The energy only grew as the event transitioned into a massive historic seminar where students from around the world trained side-by-side, learning directly from Gracie black belts teaching in both English and Portuguese.
It was amazing to see so many members of the extended Gracie family together in one room honoring the roots of the art and highlighting the unity that’s carried it forward for 100 years.
