In this video I awake to day two of a three day canoe adventure on the beautiful Norfolk Broads.
Setting off in the morning mist with the sun slowly burning through, I paddle south from my camp spot and across into Hickling Broad in search of an old isolated and abandoned mill. Getting to it proved to be a challenge - no access by foot and the old channel that led to it has long since become choked and overgrown.
The effort was well worth it though, what a place! Joined by my friend Hardy, we spend some time exploring the historic site.
This is to be my camp spot for the night, so, after setting up a simple shelter for the night, I get the fire lit and cook dinner.
A full belly, a few cheeky beers and sounds of the marshland and I’m soon ready to hit the sack nestled next to the ancient crumbling brickwork of the old mill.
