Do Cottonmouths Chase People??? #SHORTS Wakefield Wildlife 2021-09-27 | #SHORTS. PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. This is a venomous Cottonmouth (AKA Water Moccasin). The point of this video is to demonstrate that Cottonmouths are not "aggressive." When they feel threatened, they either try to escape or they curl up, open their mouth, and stand their ground. If you have one crawling toward you, it's probably because it's trying to escape into habitat that is behind you. If you see a venomous snake in the wild, please leave it alone and keep a respectful distance. They are important members of their ecosystem.
