I was in a very strange mindset when I wrote this. At the beginning of production, I stubbed my pinky toe so hard that it bent 90 degrees outwards. At the end of production, I had covid coursing through my veins. In short: I brewed most of this up in a cold sweat at 4 AM, and I'm pretty sure the project file is bad luck. So many changes happen between the in-game version & the release version! I basically had to re-mix the whole thing before adding a bunch of new stuff. This was also my VERY first time working with lyrics! Writing something that makes sense would have been a bit too tedious for my liking. Fortunately for me, Level Fun doesn't make sense! I had as much fun as one could have, working on these godforsaken lyrics.It's been an absolute joyride, seeing everyone desperately scrambling to understand the lyrics (albeit incorrectly)! This update BY FAR had the best reception I've ever gotten, in terms of the soundtrack! This is a huge first for me, in many aspects. But alas... I must let this mystery go. The people must know. Escape the Backrooms OST - RUN FOR IT insOmic 2024-01-30 | Right after a little breather, you're lobbed head first into the flashing red bowels of these halls. The colors are jarringly vibrant, albeit homogeneous. The architecture is agitating, and the residents are ravenous. In the midst of this, the alarms ring and wail rhythmically. Cheering you on with shrill shrieks and bellowing buzzes. As if they're narrowly guiding you to the cold yet refreshing light. By the skin of your teeth, you must RUN!THIS right here is my favorite song I've done for this game! I had an absolute blast throughout the entire process (except mixing all these God forsaken layers), and I'm so happy with how it turned out. I did my best to find a balance between something chaotic yet fluid. Something that flows, with the grace of someone stumbling for dear life. Fancy and I had to bear with each other and create a very precise music system, so that the various song-loops could play & transition in sync with the alarms at all times. How I got the glitch sounds is I literally took corrupt audio files, cut them, then put them into the song.
