Finally able to clear this boss on my own character, thanks to event buffs + the awakened hero title. Glad to be able to clear real run too for the achievement. Shoutout to bod for saving my ass countless times this fight, especially against tiger. It doesn't matter how many times I run this boss I always seem to choke against tiger. This was also what led me to cheese p3 when I normally wouldn't.
Previously timed out twice in prac runs with 10~20% left on kaling in p3, not being able to squeeze out the last origin burst because I couldn't get out of p1 fast enough. Thankfully, rose and home buff were more than enough to solve that issue.

I am also well aware that not using origin off cd means I won't be able to use the 6th origin before timer runs out but it just seemed like a huge waste to use it on the 2nd peril with such little health remaining so I just tried to wing it with what little experience I had. Thankfully it wasn't needed for the clear.
P3 tiger is giga rough for me on adele... I wish I had striker's mobility here. Wasn't able to get too much practice on this either since it's gated behind both p1 and p2. ty bod for making the fight 100x easier. Also kept messing up with grave; sometimes using it when not supposed to and vice versa.
I really would want to try for a better run (or even an attempt at real clear) but there's just so many other things I'd rather do at this point in time... :') The motivation to sit down for 5 hours and keep practicing the boss is just not there. Maybe someday I'll give it another go on this character.
As always, thanks for watching!

Timed out like 6 or 7 times with 8~15% hp left on p3 when playing to dodge stuff prior to this. But when I just turn off my brain and face tank shit, suddenly I have over 3 minutes to spare. Reminiscent of when I was trying to solo black mage for the first time pre-destiny and had to actively remind myself not to dodge chains. I really hate playing like this but hey everyone wants a chance at that C U C.

- no smithing buff because i always run kalos first
- choked 3 times in noon; cant be assed to rerun because i dont wanna wait 8 minutes for 2 charges of goddess stacks just for an attempt at a perfect run
- probably didnt need to fail test either since sunset was this short
- spent 5 digits only to be slower than reboot demon slayers; buff striker/reg server plz

Not my best 2-1 to 2-3 but this was the only run in like 5 attempts that I didn't gloriously run it down in 2-4... In retrospect should've probably saved the 90s burst skills when they were too late rather than de-syncing it and not having it for the full burst. Also ring swap is fucking horrible on this class ty asiasoft pls give us kms ring swap mechanics T_T. Unfortunately pulled a tangtangx on the last test coz I forgot dike was on cd so having 5 lives at the end doesn't really mean much.
As always, thanks mich for letting me play her char and thanks wilson for teaching me how to play adele.

Personally played pretty poorly:
- delayed p2 entry by a minute
- got hit by her scroll/teleports
- accidentally stepping into bird during their burst in attempt to cover them in prayer (which resulted in lesser output overall lmao)
- letting her drift out of dog zone as the taunter
Thankfully the rest of the team were skilled and well-prepared enough to cover for my mistakes.
I also tried learning the ping-pong technique from another maplesea non-cheese pov I watched but I'm still struggling to do that consistently, maybe need a little more practice.
Also, I am super proud of my pt for having the patience and skills to willingly practice the harder way, and I also hope that this will inspire other parties out there who are thinking of clearing kaling the normal way.
As always, thanks for watching! :D

Didn't upload my first clear because it was horribly scuffed and I really want to delete any footage of that run off the face of the internet (except the reward room part). By no means is this run perfect either, especially with a very very questionable death, but it's good enough for me. I also finally managed to save my own life once with the cleansing pot that I've crafted since like 4-5 years ago instead of just theorizing about its usefulness.

Continuous ring feels soooooooooo good when you're able to continuously (haha) engage the boss. I never really tested post 6th/newage ror+wjr vs cont but i'm preeeeeeeeeeetty sure cont ring is better. Plus not having to stop attacking to ring swap is so qol.
Still trying to improve dawn phase but it is what it is...

Initially was recorded to try and fix a rotation for deathblow timing but since server is down... might as well pull a quick edit. Obligatory disclaimer that results may vary depending on your hexa matrix levels. I'll probably do another comparison in 2026 when I've maxed everything.
Now that I think about it maybe I should try a rotation just wearing cont4 all the way, to see if the 5+s spent ring swapping is really worth the boost for the ror origin. (Why didn't I think of this earlier gdi....)

The experience from running the other parties definitely helped us out alot; we took way less prac runs for this boss compared to kalos and I'm glad everyone didn't have to sacrifice too much of our personal time for another boss clear.
Finally got to try the notorious dog room and wow i'm really glad striker has good mobility. Think I got hit a little more in this run than I usually do but hey we only get better with more practice. It seems incredibly challenging to play in this room with no bod/any form or healing because the dog's attacks are really punishing and some combos are straight up unfair/very hard to dodge...
P2 was also still pretty new to me because this is my first time playing on the left side of the map and evidently i'm not very good at it yet :skull:
aaaaaaand p3 was simply adopting the same strategy we did. Everyone picked up relatively quickly and was able to execute the cheese for an easy clear.
As always, thanks for watching!
Unfortunately I kinda injured my arm and slept till the scheduled practice run to recuperate so I didn't feel like streaming but thanks to everyone in chat who's been cheering us on previously as well :D

Personally struggle quite abit with timing the stroke cancel into bat cause I'm not really used to batting at 0 (or 10) attack speed and I can't really see the bat animation amongst all the visual clutter.
Also I tell myself every week after the run to remember to use takedown next week but it has been 10 runs and takedown still hasn't been used a single time.
Otherwise, it was a really enjoyable experience playing the 2nd most fun thief class. Special thanks to @spah1469 for allowing me the opportunity to play the boss on his cadena!

We adopted the cheese strat from TMS and when we realized it was so much easier to progress, we kinda became over-reliant on it - to the point where if we didn't have enough vigor to cheese, p3 would kinda be joever in a matter of minutes. I'm not sure if the party has the damage to play p3 normally but if cheesing meant we could secure the shoulder piece earlier, it would kinda be dumb not to, especially if we possessed the capabilities to do so.
Hopefully we can try for a proper run in future! Also hope to carry over my experience to my striker party and be able to clear with them post-new age!
Progress milestones:

Always thought Seren was free for hayato since its kit was so well designed for this boss but actually playing it made me realize the difficulty was in learning hayato itself, especially with certain maplesea-only features. To quote another fellow maplesea hayato main: "anything other classes can do by pressing 1 button, hayato has to press 2 or more buttons to do the same"
Forgetting and dropping stacks, stupid deaths, using hitokiri thinking it was the iframe ver instead of the diagonal ver, sub-optimal burst setup... Definitely far from a clean run but at least can pass la hor.
Huge thanks to @JessMaple for giving me the opportunity to pilot one of the strongest characters in the server, as well as @Lonewolfzee07 for tips and guidance. Took me 5~6 tries in total (and maybe another 5 on normal mode since we don't have prac mode for seren yet) but I finally passed the test I set for myself.

where's my kalos reverse no-death achievement Krappa
There were also some silly moments where I would've died if not for bod/door/reaper and a couple of weird interactions where will/3rd job iframe didn't prevent the stun from left laser (8:37 & 9:52) but thankfully nothing too costly. Also v thankful for the 2 job iframes apart from ion that helped ensure safety.

Not good (and strong) enough to phase with left system up else probably could try for sub-9. Phasing into 2-3 was also slightly delayed because 2-2 burst was abit lacking; so that could've potentially been another 10-20s saved too if we were a little bit stronger.
Hopefully we can get the no death achievement soon too! As always, thanks for watching! :D

Kinda sucks that nightwalker's iframe is part of his burst sequence and I didn't have it up for 2 of the groggy bursts because I used it for defensive purposes but thankfully the party carried in damage. The buffing up for burst could use some work too... I obviously do not have enough playtime on this class to be able to muscle-memory execute everything and there's definitely room for improvement. I think I was missing a couple of buffs here and there but nothing too devastating I hope.
System shooting was also pretty bad this run and the only thing worse was my frames during burst :') Thanks to nic and gavin for organizing as well as jack for allowing me play a character 10 levels above my main.

When I tried again recently after hitting 250 auth force, I realized that I was dying out more often than timing out but at least the damage seemed better. With max buffs from the bugcat capoo event and the toben warrior buff from punch king event, my damage pacing improved and it started to look winnable.
Unfortunately the better progress also made me more nervous. Usually her hp would heal to around 70% after the first cycle. Most other solos that I referenced to had around 65~66% hp. This run I had a pretty good start but when I looked up and saw 63% after the first cycle, my nerves started getting the better of me and I started playing worse....
Well the rest is just self explanatory in the video. I'm tired of editing videos after all the kalos clears and am out of creative brain juices to make anything interesting anymore so here's the trim from the stream vod. Enjoy the clownfest and live reactions HAHAHA
Obligatory "this would have not been possible if not for bod" disclaimer because ya I abused the shit out of that ring and still managed to clear with only 12 seconds remaining on the clock. Without bod I definitely wouldn't be able to constantly stick to the boss to dish out consistent dpm damage. Perhaps a korean mechanical genius god could do it but I am a merely a balding asian mortal.
Also realized after the fight that I could and should've boosted erda nova beyond lv 25 so that the cooldown problem I faced in this run wouldn't exist but... I really can't be bothered to rerun this. For those who are planning to solo in future, this could be a point you want to take note of, especially if you're also a 2 min class w lucid earrings.

As the party consists of 2 night lords, my job here is pretty simple; to help them chip kalos' health down and to phase into segment test when necessary. I've probably said this a million times by now but this boss really favors burst classes and yeah, you can see from my battle analysis that I'm only dealing around 30t per burst - the remaining damage comes from constantly hitting afterwards (if necessary at all).
Our bishop only recently job changed to bishop for kalos and already could survive pretty well - hats off to him for that. I definitely remember struggling more than 6 runs on bishop when I first switched /sweats
Hopefully we can keep up the same performance next week and in the future runs to come! As always, thanks for watching! :D

Unfortunately our bishop died out at the very end when kalos was at 0.8% hp. I can't help but think that if I just buffed up and hit during that last burst I definitely could've contributed at least 6t more which would be enough to kill the boss and clear as a full party... :(
Nonetheless I'm still happy for the members of the party who cleared. They, too, have been practicing alot and had a couple of painfully close runs before this clear. The original kanna player in the roster wasn't able to use discord comms during some run timings (and we all know how important comms is in this boss) so I subbed him for the runs he couldn't make it and one of these happened to be the clear run.
Hopefully I can clear with my striker next!

Performance this run was pretty damn ass unfortunately... I floated the full duration of each death and still barely scraped through with 1 life left. Felt kinda bummed aft that 2-1 start and basically became a prayer/fountain bot with pretty bad shooting accuracy. Kinda sucks that the run that cleared was the one I didn't really play well but hey it is what it is - at least I didn't grief the test this run right-
Personal thoughts on the boss: Initially we were super motivated to try to clear each segment with 2 bursts instead of just 1 bursting every segment like maybe 90% of the kalos clear videos do. 30 minutes given does allow for that but we were hard-stuck 2-2 and very rarely made it to 2-3. Bursting off-groggy is a pain especially when systems are activated and they don't stop firing stuff at you even when the boss is bound. The boss became much easier and comfortable once we were able to clear or at least come close to clearing an entire segment in one burst, that way we didn't have to play too precariously just to deal damage in between and could just chip him down whenever necessary.
To any parties out there who have the same train of thought, I'd still encourage you to go for it. Even if your party doesn't progress very far, the experience you get while struggling will prepare you for the time when you can eventually one burst each segment. Like Seren, Kalos is just auth force gated; eventually most parties will have enough damage to defeat the boss. The earlier you start practicing, the more prepared you will be when your time comes.
Thanks to my party members for making time to practice, improve and strategize together. To me the process is definitely unforgettable and I thoroughly enjoyed learning and struggling through the boss with you guys.

As a class with low burst, sub-par dpm and high animation lock (before destiny changes), black mage has always been a boss that strikers would struggle against. Not to mention the fight is an hour long and super exhausting both mentally and physically - just striker things.
With only 3 minutes+ left on the clock, this clear definitely wouldn't have been possible without:
- The Chew Chew Festival event buffs
- Heavily abusing bod to dish out damage
Also got very lucky with:
- An easy p1 where the black sword was isolated most of the time. No class/aoe bind or long iframes meant that I had to rely on lucid and ion to try and burst through p1. Usually it would take me 3 binds or 5~6 minutes to make it past phase 1.
- Many near death encounters on top of the 11 lives I lost. Having only 1 life left at the end meant that had any of these near death encounters killed me, I would've ran out of lives. Although we could argue that I only made certain plays in phase 4 knowing I had extra lives and would probably play more cautiously if I was low on death counts.
Anyways am glad to have this achievement checked, even though gameplay was absolutely terrible. Not sure if I would want to do this again next month because it's really tiring but I guess we'll see when the time comes.
As always, thanks for watching!

Also didn't add any music this time, but that leaves the guide sounding abit empty to me. Super regret not getting a pop filter to record because damn some of these popping noises are really cringe. Please bear with them.
As usual, do note that the strategies I suggest and recommend are what I feel works for me and my party members. It might not be the best but it should definitely help new parties who have absolutely no idea on what to do. If there's any missing/wrong info, I do apologize in advance and you can let me know about them in the comments below.

Greeded by not failing noon to sunset segments (cause usually it's possible to not get hit at all during sunset) but got very careless this run :( Thankfully it didn't matter as the party still had decent midnight gauge leftover when cleared.
I also didn't SP reset rock yasha because kishin is very important in our totem-less server, so I had to jump + attack in order not to overwrite showdown. Thankfully it only happened once (i think?) when it procced on my bind and we managed to alert the night lord to reapply showdown before it caused any issues.

Because our bishop has completely liberated from the game, we got AoiYuyu (checkout his POV here: youtube.com/watch?v=COD_nBv_Bkg) to join our party. An extra ied debuff as well as the extended shadow rain binds were all very welcomed by our party members.
This was actually the first run with our new member so I wanted to challenge myself by not using bod - turns out it actually is still pretty manageable, even without a bishop or self-healing skills. If I'd do anything differently, it'd probably be to use weapon jump ring in sunset instead of restraint.
Sunset can either be a breeze or a massive clusterduck depending on the RNG of the fire pillars as seen in 6:34 and 13:30. If not given the privilege of of a breath of divinity ring, I would definitely rather use a wjs that won't be cancelled during sunset bursts, than risk dying while trying to stay in restraint/losing the buff by jumping out of the zone to survive. Perhaps for some classes their bursts spikes way more than striker's so it justifies using ion + restraint, but for striker I wouldn't think it's worth it. Maybe when the change to the segment tests are live and it's consistently passable then I would use ion together with restraint.
Also not having our bishop also meant that we need someone new to control Seren during dawn and this run was Mavlon's first attempt at doing so. I think he did a great job especially for a first try. The two shields in dawn weren't too high and we mostly had a decently good time. Most of my screwups were due to my own carelessness. Hopefully with more practices in future we can deal more damage and clear by 2nd midnight!
As always, thanks for watching!
PS: Yes I accidentally hit the bod skill key once out of muscle memory (cOnTaMinAtiOn)
Unfortunately for me, the first time our party cleared I had one of the worst performances I've had in the past few runs; filling the gauge a whopping 5 times. Playing a class as mobile as striker, I was dodging way less than I could and should. To be fair, I only woke up 30 minutes before the run to sit kk chair and then went back to snooze until it was run time. As a result I wasn't able to "see" things that I needed to during the run, although I now can identify them easily watching the replay.
Hopefully in future I will be able to upload a run that I can say I am proud of but for now y'all will have to bear with this sub-par performance.
0:00 Phase 1
You should be able to tell I clearly haven't woken up when I was facing the wrong side bursting for 4 full seconds, wasting more than half my relentless fury charges. Thankfully it didn't matter because we had more than enough damage to one-burst phase 1 and have to wait for cooldowns anyway.
3:10 Phase 2, 1st Noon
Really lucky the random blink didn't put me smack in the middle of either of the 2 sun rays. I thought my character was in the air when I pressed it. Extreme blitz ended at 3.54 but I was still doing the burst combo until 4.01 - minor but very unnecessary damage loss. At 4.21 I hit blink while on the floor again. I think I was just unable to track my own character for this to happen twice - tanked a bomb for nothing as a result. Right before the test I was hovering around 60-70% gauge and the safe play was to fail the segment test so that I enter sunset with an empty gauge and can play super aggressive. But I decided to yolo and was hoping I could make it to midnight before filling the remainder of that gauge. Another mistake.
5:30 1st Sunset
Immediately after she was unbound I was hit by a stab. This would've been fine if I entered sunset with 0 gauge but I did not. I should be playing way safer than this if I decided to bring noon's gauge into sunset. Probably only throwing shark missiles/cygnus phalanx, normal hit only during her other animations, and stay ducked most of the time. The meteor and pillar that hit me at 6.17 really shouldn't have. It was really a simple duck and dodge, I don't know what else to say other than I suck. Dying to the firewall at 99% gauge was really crucial for me because I didn't want to sabotage the party's chance at recovering midnight gauge. I just have to revive right before the prayer+stone burst and not get hit by anything after that till segment test. But the 7.15 full map of pillars killed any hope of that. I definitely should have iframed this. I could ion the test into midnight and my hyper iframe would have come back up by the midnight to dawn test.
7:55 1st Midnight
Nothing much to be said here. At this point we kinda realize "oshit we've never dealt this much dmg before" and start to get excited about actually being able to clear. If you play rhythm games, it's like the feeling when you do well for like the first half of the song and you start to think "this could be my new highscore"... Except for me I don't deal well with that feeling and it makes me more prone to mistakes. I also tunneled vision on the right side during the segment test, missing the very obvious shorter sword on the left.
8:32 1st Dawn
It was good until it wasn't. The first mistake at 9.53 caused me almost half a bar of gauge. And then I don't jump to the corner in time at 10.17 and get punished. Another misjudgment seconds later put me at 99% gauge.
10:43 2nd Noon
Got hit by a few of her stabs due to greed but the unlucky bomb + early sun ray combo was too much, gauging a second time in this segment alone. I started to feel annoyed at myself at this point and I just stopped attacking completely.
13:00 2nd Sunset
With bod and close to 0 gauge I should be maximizing this segment and dealing as much damage as possible but once again I mess up and die. But it's just a death count and not midnight gauge reduced so just overall abit of damage lost while floating.
15:10 2nd Midnight
Finally got lucky with RNG and got an easy segment test. Minor mental reset.
15:34 2nd Dawn
Didn't get chained much here but all the 1 by 1 attacks added up and I gauged before noon... Only had 1 run before today with 3 deers so still learning I guess.
17:48 3rd Noon
Really nervous now because the clear seems within reach. We just have to not screw-up. I lose the ability to dodge simple bombs and see triple sun rays for the first time.
20:11 3rd Sunset
Left with 4 charges of relentless fury because I stopped using them after getting hit but it wasn't needed. We finish her with about 20 seconds of sunset (+abit of midnight maybe) to spare.
Always wanted to do this since the first time I played Adele and since Faelyn liberated her genesis weapon and has gotten anti-slip shoes, I felt there was no reason to procrastinate anymore. Also kinda needed to hurry before the dike nerf hits our servers so I gave her a watermelon in exchange for some Adele playtime.
I'm still definitely lacking in alot of Adele-mechanics like managing order, maintaining reasonance buff, ensuring the boss is grave-d, using shards off cooldown and optimizing bursts with infinite (which imo is the most important part of playing Adele) so there's lots of room for improvement. I'm also thankful that this was after damage cap release - killing the boss faster meant I didn't have to survive/dodge stuff for as long. I lost heaven's door and 1 life in a 15-ish minute fight so the run definitely wasn't perfect. If it lasted any longer I'd probably have dropped another life and the run would be much more dangerous once I'm down to 3 skulls. It's not a wow-amazing spectacular run but I'm still contented with how the clear turned out.
Once again, big thanks to Faelyn for letting me play her Adele, and as always, thanks everyone for watching! :D

Probably could've been faster if we optimized certain skill rotations, made sure everyone had seed rings before burst, and not dash out of ror like a monkey (5:06). But this was already our second day attempting and we were already getting bored/tired. Didn't play the best for most of these runs but I guess it doesn't really matter if the boss just dies in 1 burst. The only real way of messing up is really dashing out of ror and yet I still managed to find a way to pull it off (although I could really blame the kanna for not hitting the bind if I wanted xd).

Unfortunately in this particular run, a couple of members got too excited and got disconnected (fix your game plz nexon) else we could've pushed for an even higher score. Nonetheless, everyone was still excited to see their new damage past 10b, myself included. My personal contribution practically doubled now that I'm not limited by the damage cap and needless to say, I am super happy about it HAHA. (05:37 if you're keen in my battle stats)
Definitely looking forward to further push this highscore in future, with less disconnects and perhaps better attendance! Also would like to take the chance to thank all members who actively participated in Lucadia's GPQ in the past 1 year. In this period we :
- cleared black mage and fully liberated the genesis knuckle
- upgraded to 5-set from the dark boss accessories
- 22* (and even some 23*) all our gear, ofc with great help from GA event
- spent *quite* a lot on cubing - add pot mainly
And with some help from the Hotel Maple passive, I've managed to hit the 75k stat milestone! At this point in time, while damage cap is still 10b, I'm able to solo all bosses other than black mage, with relative ease. If you've been following the channel or my twitch streams, you might also have seen some of the bosses done without bod as a challenge. As a class with only erda nova as bind, the extra bind from lucid earrings was a much needed aid for bossing. That explains why I never really bothered with no lucid-earring runs; to me it'll just be a hassle that I don't get to keep the boss stationary during my burst. Either that or I have grown to be over-reliant on them and babyrage complain about other classes with innate binds *cough*
Anyways looking forward, NEO will be bring us a whole lot of changes. Increased damage cap means faster bossing, which is always great news to someone like myself, who isn't a mechanical skill god. New training areas would also incentivize me to start training again... hopefully *sweats nervously*. And then there's also Seren, the next new boss to conquer. It has been over a year since we last "learnt" black mage and honestly I can't wait to pit myself against a new boss with new mechanics to learn and new strategies to apply. To me it's not about the glory about being the first party to clear a boss that interests me, but rather the teamwork and struggling as a party that draws me to the next new boss. Hopefully, in due time, we'll be able to clear with a party of like-minded individuals, but for now we'll be taking notes from KMS (and farming Auth Force).
Last but not least, cheers to all my friends, buddies and guildies, both past and present. Thanks for making the game more enjoyable, without yall the game wouldn't be as fun. Here's hoping to even sillier laughter and fun times in future as well as achieving greater heights together :) and as always, thanks for watching!

With the overlap of these 3, it is finally time to grind dojo and push for a new record. First replanned my entire seed ring rotation to optimize for 70F but turns out I have a little time leftover for 71f. Did some minor tweaking again and ended up with this rotation that probably could've cleared 72f if I:
- used my bursts earlier on 67f and dragged out each following stage so that I had burst on entry of 70f to sync with crisis hm + erda nova proc (main reason imo)
- didn't freaking get tornado-ed on 60f LOL
- went straight into 60f after clearing 59f, not wasting lightning unity duration (turns out it was a good idea using unity on 59f & carrying it over)
- used ion of creation on 58f instead of 59f. (it felt risky proccing crisis hm without an iframe but 59f was a small sized boss so generally it would be okay)
- protected my risk taker on 56f... somehow I zoned out and by the time I realized it was already broken
- 52f didn't jump at the end (usually it doesn't :( )
- popped the first onyx apple post 40 instead of at the start of the run; the rose I tried casting aft clearing 66f was wasted because it didn't overwrite the expiring apple buff and hence didn't have either buffs 69f onwards (this is my first time eating apples in dojo plz no flem)
I tried a few more runs after this one but could never find the perfect run for the 72f clear. Now that haste title has expired I don't see the point in trying anymore so I guess I'll just settle for the 71 clear.
All types of seed rings used were the same since the last dojo vid I uploaded 2 years+ ago. Having access to ion of creation also meant that I could trigger crisis HM using erda nova without the fear of dying and hence can alternate between erda nova and spider in mirror every 3 minutes. The downside to this however, is that I'm left with only lucid bind for non crisis HM stages (giff every class an innate bind plez)
This is probably the peak for my character. The only way I see myself able to clear higher floors is if:
a. op event buffs align again like this one
b. I switch to a cd reduction hat (which I really should in light of damage cap increase :/ )
c. decide to upgrade even more equips (eq video soon I promise xd)
As always, thanks for watching!

Overall a rather interesting learning experience! F/p mage's gameplay revolves around stacking DoT skills and the short 5th job burst skills. Struggled quite abit with timing mist eruption and even missed a few in the video but thankfully could still clear.
The will run in this video was meant to be a warmup before the actual attempt (hence no noblesse/luxury boss pot) but turned out to be a super clutch clear which boosted my confidence for the actual mission. Survived 4+ minutes before the screen filled with webs despite tripping on a few red pellets but overall was pretty satisfied with the pre-web gameplay. Mistimed the dodge on white-eyes fma a few times but thankfully bod/reaper covered up. Post web was pretty bad - half the mist eruptions were either missed or triggered while the boss was untargettable, Ifrit's anger wasn't used optimally either. But thanks to MapleSEA's krrr ring advantage, it was still a clear.
Lucid was also very sloppy due to my lack of experience - it was only my 3rd attempt of which the first didn't even make it to phase 3. I essentially only did 1 phase 3 run before this hence I was still not very fluent in the muscle memory for the transition to phase 3 (if you noticed the panic clicking you would be able to tell HAHA). Was supposed to only use the fire balls before p3 but I used both the fire and poison ones. Forgot to use t&c and weapon jump ring till Ifrit anger's was over. Infinity timing was mediocre; could've started stacking it a good 20s or so earlier to get more damage boost. Really really lucky and glad to still manage the clutch clear despite all these mistakes.
The overlapping of haste title, dynamic duo buff, as well as hotel maple event passives also helped push the character's damage past the min spec requirement which made both clears possible.
Big thanks to iXuannie for allowing me this opportunity to try hard bossing with her explorer mage!! Also very grateful to Dazzleee for the tips and tricks he gave that made learning the job much easier (check out his yt channel here: youtube.com/channel/UC7xV3pL2sOoTm3C-aNBOpbA)

Alternatively, this can be an experiment to find out the distribution of results from 1h/2h black scrolls (and amazing scrolls) and hence serve as a deterrent (hopefully not encouragement) to players who have similar ideas.
In this particular run I luck-ed out towards the end, somewhat-saving an otherwise horrible run. If I would've settled for +10s from the start I'd have saved many scrolls and ended up with just a few weapon attack less. Then again, it's also possible (with much less luck required) to get 200 or slightly above 200 wa just by pure scrolling. In this case if I didn't use return scrolls and just took the results of my first 11 scrolls, I would have ended up with a 201 wa heart - which is also just only a few weapon attack short of the return scrolling for +10s/+11s path.
In conclusion my advice will be, if you still haven't gotten the idea by now, to refrain from return scrolling on hearts. Even with the lucky streak at the end, +11 only appeared at a measly 13% chance for me. This means that you'll be getting only 2 +11s in every 15 scrolls or so, totaling to about 90 scrolls for a fully +11 scrolled heart. Of course, my sample size is pretty small and doesn't accurately represent what the actual percentages are but based on anecdotal experiences I would say that that value is most likely to be even lower than 13%.

Ever since making the balding asian guide (youtu.be/RBR3c8Ol5-M), I've been wanting to further motivate fellow players and debunk the myth that BoD is a must-have for this boss.
Tbh I stopped trying for a long time in between until recently when I realized my normal runs with BoD took only around 15 mins. It was then that I thought maybe I could start trying again. Luckily enough, only about 5 tries later I got the clear and it was on stream too. I failed a run literally right before this (which was why there was only half the duration of noblesse skills left at the start of the fight) and you could hear me getting more panicky towards the end xd
Reviewing the run, there were many careless mistakes that slowed down the clear timing but overall I feel it was still satisfactory. Especially for a more sustained-dps class like striker, it was more challenging because it required focus and concentration across long periods of time. Engage-rate for this run dropped to around 70%-80% compared to usual 90+% runs with bod. Can't say I'm too pleased with that but I definitely feel that if I dodged certain stuff better I would've achieved a higher %, resulting in a faster clear.
Probably will not attempt any more such runs now that I've actually done it once. Also definitely not skilled enough to do "no altar" runs or anything of that sort so that's out of the question too. For weekly clears I'd also much prefer using bod as I want to clear the run asap in order to benefit from the drop rate buff (be it KK chair/2x drop coupon) for more than 1 boss.

Really did not expect myself to be able to clear, especially without noblesse, and I thought of it as more of a "practice" run. In the past 10-ish attempts I did, I've died out within 10 minutes (even with bod) like at least 5 times, which is like really really bad. The closest I recall getting to was probably around 40% HP left?? So you can really imagine the disbelief when I actually managed to pull off the clear.
Djunkel is really the most nonsense boss design in my opinion because of how chaotic it can get. Certain situations really leave you with no chances of survival if you don't have an iframe. Personally I think striker's kit is actually pretty good due to the high mobility and versatility in dodging certain attack patterns, but even so I've been having trouble with this boss even in a party setting. Hence, if you can't already tell, this is really a very very lucky run. There were many instances that I really should have been dead and even more that I couldn't have survived if not for BoD. The newly released 4th V skill, Relentless Fury, also bumped up my dps; without it I probably wouldn't have been able to clear it within 30 minutes as well.
However with that said, a clear is still a clear and with this stupid boss out of the way, the only thing now that I've yet to clear solo is the black mage (which is impossible for me, don't even think about it).
Enjoy the video with my super distracted "live commentary". As always, thanks for watching!

Sadly I used krrr ring once in p1 else this could've been a solo without both of the 2 most broken rings in SEA server. I also played terribly in phase 1... was really on the verge of recording another attempt but... _(´ཀ`」 ∠) _
Bad aggro+phalanx management for both the 2nd and 3rd segment test led to no orbs spawning and I had to use krr ring/burn heaven's door respectively. I was thinking about using ion of creation for the 3rd one but decided that it would be better to lose door and save it for phase 2 so that I could generate moonlight at the start. I also could and should have popped Cygnus' blessing there to reduce the screen crack to 95% to save both door + ion of creation but I guess I'm just bad at the game.
Also I zoned out at 6:09, thinking that the eye of chaos had swapped me to the other dimension (will also coincidentally reappeared at the time of the "swap" which probably caused me to hallucinate) and by the time I realized it was not the case I had already thrown my lucid bind + phalanx
(┛ಠ_ಠ)┛彡┻━┻
Phase 2 wasn't spectacular but it was at least decent I guess. Having no bod meant that I had to go easy on dps and focus more on survival. The one death was just miscalculation of damage; I didn't think the spider leg on the right would've hit and thus assumed I would have enough HP to survive the following spider leg that killed me. I even had iframe available but didn't think I would need it because I didn't realize I was too low till it was too late.
Phase 3 lasted almost 5 minutes and that is by far the best I've ever accomplished - my static charge even ran out at the end lol. However I also had 2 deaths and the 2x 8s resistance link skill were probably what made the 5 minutes (and ultimately clearing without entering full web phase) possible.
I survived 14:44 and 15:53 for some unknown reason. I certainly should have died in both those situations, bringing the actual death count left to 5, but I guess the game just decided to go easy on me. Dodging game also has lots of room for improvement. I got my moonlight yoinked at least 5 times by those pesky red pellets and got hit countless times by his spider legs/pushes. If not for spikes on my shoes, I prolly would've dropped a few more lives trying to recover from those pushes I failed to dodge.
But despite all that, I'm still very satisfied with the clear. Dynamic duo buff + improved ied guild skills probably played a huge part in bumping up my dps but I feel I've definitely gotten better since the genesis mission :)
(17:03 was done using reversed keys btw xd)

The rest was pretty much clockwork by this point. Having both bod and ion of creation also made it much easier for dps-ing, without having to worry about certain sources of damage. I wouldn't say it would've been impossible without them but it certainly saved us a good 15 mins at the very least.
Also with both teammates holding the aggro of black mage in phase 3, I was able to freely dps from outside his push range, greatly reducing my risk of losing lives. I also weaved in and out of the bubble after it shrank. Tbh I'm not entirely sure if the best form of dps for striker here is afk mashing outside the bubble, weaving in and out, or just cautiously attacking+ducking from inside the bubble, but I guess it doesn't hurt to familiarize myself with all 3.
All in all, the fight as a 3-man party took around only 33 minutes, probably 35 max if we were to actually finish it. My point isn't to boast or gloat, there're definitely characters in MapleSEA stronger than ourselves that I'm sure can achieve the same feat faster. Instead, what I hope to achieve is to show that what seemed barely possible for a party of 6 a year ago is now comfortably doable as a trio. The boss that seemed too ambitious to even think about is actually very much within your reach now. After the notorious guardian angel event, I'm sure there're more than enough qualified attackers in the game.
Furthermore, with all the resources readily available on the net, (big thanks to those who wrote guides/made videos btw) learning the boss mechanics is now simply a matter of commitment and dedication. Hopefully we can be an inspiration to those who are qualified but just "thinking about it".

Gameplay, however, is far from perfect; I'm still failing to dodge the white eyes attack in phase 3 like half the time, I'm still losing plenty of moonlight due to not dodging legs and pellets properly, I'm still struggling to find the balance between dps-ing and moving/dodging attacks and I'm even still forgetting to use some buffs/skills during burst.
Similar to my striker's clear, luck was also a huge factor for this run's success. A lot of things lines up perfectly and resulted in the best opportunity for me to clutch this clear. They removed the 20-minute time limit and added in an additional 10% damage taken but for some reason the full map attacks on phase 3 seemed to deal slightly less than what they were supposed to. I have no idea why or what's reducing that damage but I'm thankful as heck I didn't actually die to those because had I lost just one life for any of those mistakes, this would've been a failed run.
Yes, you could argue that if I didn't screw up one of the revive-burst cycles (where I was facing the wrong direction) it wouldn't have mattered but let's not talk about that. Never in any of my practice runs have I ever landed myself in a situation like that and as a result the solution wasn't intuitive enough for me to think of it on the spot.
Anyways, I'm super glad the mission is done as it quite literally is my biggest worry for the entire liberation journey on my kanna. With Hard Will out of the way, it's time to start practicing and experimenting with hard lucid to find the optimal 40s burst rotation!

Big thanks to Faelyn for allowing me this opportunity to try hard bossing with her Adele!!
It was a fairy easy class to pick up, in all honesty. The basics were simple but to understand and utilize the full kit would take a while. Personally I didn't use Shards and Nobility, but maybe if given more time with the class I would be able to familiarize with when to use them.
Having to constantly manage order and resonance stacks is probably the biggest challenge I face while bossing with Adele. Maintaining both skills while keeping an eye on her other cooldowns proved too tough for me and I often find myself on 0 order and/or resonance stacks :|

The newly formed party may lack some levels, union power, and even arcane force, but the group surely didn't lack the desire to kill the boss. On the fourth try as a full party, we manage to secure the first clear (with everyone alive of course).
Frankly speaking the party as a whole is way over-geared for this boss. The event title also let everyone have a much easier time, as if the missing meteors in p2/3 weren't comfy enough. Hopefully this is the last month of easy mode black mage as soon after the servers were cleaned up, other parties have claimed to be facing only the "real" black mage. We're all looking forward to that next month and can only wait in excitement :)
As this party's kanna was still very new to black mage, P2W and I agreed to take up the role that would've been much easier on the kanna. We placed ourselves right in front of the black mage so that our teammates could attack from a safe distance. This meant that my playstyle had to change; I could no longer afk mash my keyboard and burst from outside the bubble. Instead, I had to be extra careful with my attacks (especially since striker suffers from heavy animation lock) and stop attacking preemptively in order to be able to duck in time to avoid his push.
A lot of times the boss would also just stand still and not push, baiting me into greeding for that extra hit and then getting spanked for it. This inconsistency made it hard for me to formulate an internal rhythm for attacking and I still get pushed a number of times throughout phase 3. The right move is to patiently wait for his push before engaging but for some unknown reason it is incredibly hard to resist smacking the thing right in front of me - I might need to see a doctor.
To be frank, I'm quite disappointed I still can't find the perfect run after running black mage for like almost a year now. Even with the new skills from the fully liberated genesis weapon, I still find myself making lame and inexcusable mistakes. Phase 3 didn't even last 15 minutes and I managed to lose 4 lives with bod....?? That's a lot of room for improvement. I also somehow managed to forget to rebuff my static charge (basically striker's equivalent of shadow partner) for like half of phase 3.. wtf
Also, being able to clear black mage only once a month is really an annoyance. Such an elaborate boss with an extensive set of mechanics - I really wished there was some form of practice mode available that allowed us to continue punching him, even after clearing for the month. I'm even willing to burn flames for practice runs and I'm sure I'm not alone.
Alright, that's it for this video! As always, thanks for watching!

Nevertheless, I'm still satisfied being able to solo this boss. It's one of those bosses designed in Maple whereby if RNG hates you, you just die. I'd probably say 50% of the reason I could clear goes to having good RNG (and the other 50% being that I am of course using the broken bod skill to mask over my mechanical flaws) : as highlighted in the video, I lucked out a couple of times with the laser being delayed as I get sucked to the center after failing to dodge a stun meteor. Even most of my fear stages this run were pretty reasonable (except for that one or two) and in fact it was an error on my part not timing some of them better.
Striker naturally has a great kit for survival in this boss, however we suffer when trying to deal damage during the dps phase. Being an extremely mobile and versatile class certainly did play a big part in me being able to survive. However the struggle comes when trying to dish out damage whilst dodging meteors. Being locked in place when bursting exposes you to meteors that can both stun and cause your attacks to miss. It is super tilting to endure 20+s of running around, avoiding meteors and tentacles, only to transit into a low dps attack phase because of the inability to dodge meteors while bursting. Even with the new liberated knuckle, I'm still struggling to deal enough dps to kill the boss in 30 mins because of this handicap.
This is also the main reason why I made a conscious decision to use Ion of Creation offensively to ensure a good burst, and take on some of the fear stages on the ground instead of on the platforms where it is theoretically easier to survive. I also push my limits and try to throw in some hits during the suck/laser phase, while trying to dodge meteors at the same time, fully aware that I am putting myself at greater risk by doing so.
I have run defensively a few times, like using the Ion of Creation solely to survive fear stages, changing to krrr ring, taking on all the fear stages on top of the tentacle platforms, and to a certain extent even not hitting dusk at all during his damage reduction phase. However the closest run this playstyle has gotten me to clearing was only around 10% to 15% HP left.
Of course, there is still much room for improvement; my meteor dodging is still pretty bad, my burst-buffs management can also be better, and not succumbing to tilt in general is also one aspect I'd like to improve on. Hopefully in future I'll get better at dusk and be able to consistently clear this boss.

Tbh it kinda killed the sense of satisfaction from usual starforcing but hey, objective-wise it's a crazy good event to get things done with minimal resources needed. 22* will be the new 17* and everyone's stats and range inflates overnight. 22* item prices will crash and meso value will skyrocket... It's as though 2020 has had enough fun causing trouble for the entire world and now is looking to cause chaos in the maple realm.
The event started the moment midnight struck, hence all these were done off-stream; otherwise I'm usually more active over at twitch nowadays so do drop me a follow if you'd like to catch me live!

Hello everyone!
In the blink of an eye, 6 months has passed since the last black mage video. If you haven't been following my twitch streams, or staying up to date through my party members' POVs, here's a quick update! Many things have changed since then; party members have come and gone and naturally we have to adapt to the new jobs and their capabilities in the roster.
ZehroHH moving onto his new passion, Soul Master, meant that we no longer had extended bind durations for phase 1. White (vertical) meteors appearing more often in phases 2 and 3 also meant that we had to get better and play more cautiously. Purple (diagonal) meteors, however, are still missing in our server's phase 2, so that's definitely a big sigh of relief for all bishops (or mages in general).
We were also in the midst of transitioning out of the "hide and burst once every 3 cycles" strategy for phase 3 but unfortunately phase 2 of this run wasn't very nice to our party and we didn't have the confidence to pull it off. After all, the 2 back-to-back runs prior to this ended poorly with disconnection and bug issues and we reverted back to what felt comfortable doing.
Individually we have gotten better too, CarteThrone is now as proficient as OnyxBasilisk in luring. They've even managed to pull off self-imposed challenges such as no bod or eating spicy nuggets while bossing. Personally I feel like I could do the luring if necessary but only if I had the lives as confidence cushion for it. I'm always more likely to mess up once I've started messing up (if that makes any sense) and find it really hard to reset my mental but that is something that I will only improve on.
I've also been experimenting with zipping in and out of the "zone" to deal damage once it has shrunk, but I'm unsure if the extra damage done (if any) justifies the risk. Once again, I dared to do it more in previous runs but this run had me sweating on lives so I thought it'd be better to play safe.
Alright enough of the technical stuff!
Once the run was over, we knew we had the liberation of our weapons waiting for us and I'll just leave you to watch the video to see how excited we were for it. The RISE patch hit right on time too, allowing me to clear certain missions that I would not have otherwise been able to. Having a new skill that grants 10 full seconds of invulnerability is really unimaginable and I just can't wait to reap the benefits of the fully liberated weapon. Oh and it's also a lucky item; which means free 30% boss from fafnir set!
Thank you to everyone who wished us well. Be it through megaphones, buddy chat, guild chat, whispers or stream chat. There's no way I can respond to each and every one of you but please believe me when I say I appreciate every single one of those messages!
Last but not least, huge grats to VanarisDB who trained hard so that he could level together with his genesis weapon liberation (blue text hogger, smh). 2 years ago we hit 250 together but this time he's on his own; I doubt I have the sanity to grind that many hours and I think I'll just take level slowly as it comes.... aka typhoon pots pl0x.

1. Striker's burst is pretty meh as it's more of a sustained dps-over-time class. There isn't really any big skill that I can wait for a cooldown to use to deal massive damage within the 8 seconds of iframe upon revival.
2. Striker's iframe is really short in duration and, being a hyper skill, cannot be reduced by any sort of cooldown reduction (potential, IA, special cores)
3. My equips, at the point of time in this video, weren't in their ideal state. However the lingering Newtro event buff + haste title, as well as a couple of upgrades from the recent hexacube sales made up for it.
Also, looking back, a lot of stars aligned for this lucky run. I was only left with 1 spare life and less than 30 seconds. Should any of these have gone wrong, I really doubt I would've been able to clear this mission:
1. The final lucid bind was literally used the second it was up by sheer coincidence. I wasn't keeping eye on it as I was eyeballing the spirit of freedom buff icon and simply relied on "feel" to chain the lucid bind with my shark torpedo.
2. There were more poison occurrences during this run compared to my previous practice runs. Lacking burst damage for the final phase of p3, I really had to capitalize and deal as much damage before the webs filled the screen as possible, and having more poison buffs really helped my case.
3. There were many instances in the early parts of phase 3 that I really should have been punished for my misplays but instead I got lucky and survived. Of course, a highly skilled player would definitely be able to do this constantly, especially with the help of BoD; but for me, or this run at least, luck was really a crucial factor.
From better and tighter chaining of iframes/cleanses, to more efficient planning and usage of buffs, or just simply dodging better in general; there's definitely plenty of room for improvement, if I ever feel like trying to solo this boss again that is.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself and kept coming up with excuses not to do this mission. Every sentence of encouragement goes a long way in motivating me to push myself, even if the motivation represented itself in peculiar forms (such as being able to watch a friend plough through a thousand rooms of adorable jumpscares).
Special thanks to:
VanarisDB, for assisting me with my practice runs. Watching his practice runs and the eventual clear also helped me plan and execute my own run better.
CarteThrone, for all the tips, suggestions and insights. Having run countless times himself, information and learning experiences he shared were highly valuable.
Breath Of Divinity, for allowing me to ignore a large portion of Will's attacks and focus on dealing damage. Without it, I would have to dodge more stuff and definitely wouldn't be able to clear the boss in 20 mins.
Very Steady Krrr ring, and Jackie Chan for first suggesting the use of it to me. The 9s invincibility that it grants allowed me deal ~2x more chip damage when it was available and I definitely wouldn't be able to clear without it either.
With Will out of the way, Lucid awaits me next. As of now it doesn't look very possible for me but there's an upcoming update that would make it significantly easier. Hopefully I'll stand a decent chance then!

Starforcing was done on a 30% off event. As starforcing is purely RNG, please don't blame me if my strategy used doesn't yield the same results for you. Results-based analysis like "oh I should/shouldn't have clicked an extra time here" is also a not-very-smart thing to do.
