The Jericho ConnectionShould we believe in the existence of God? Is it more reasonable to think that God exists or that he doesn't? Well, it all depends on how we define God. Atheists tend to define God as an imaginary invisible man in the sky and, as a result, they have an easy way to put the burden of proof for such a bold claim on theists. But atheists do not get to define God. Theists own the definition of God, because theists claim to believe in the existence of something and therefore they have the right to exactly define what they believe in. In this video I will give a bulletproof definition of God in front of which any atheist argument fails.

Unfortunately, every single point he raises fails in front of Scriptural evidence.UNIVERSALISM Debunked in 5 MinutesThe Jericho Connection2024-09-07 | Universalism is a heresy condemned by the Church in the 5th Ecumenical Council in the 6th century. So why are universalists still around? Because they defend their position arguing from the original Greek text. How to refute them? Simple: by telling them they are right...Proving the PAPACY From the Bible WITHOUT Using Matthew 16:18The Jericho Connection2024-05-06 | When it comes to proving the papacy from the Bible the go-to verse is Matthew 16:18 where Jesus tells Peter that he is Peter and on this rick he will build his Church. But who is he rock Jesus is talking about? Is Peter the rock? Is Peter's confession of faith the rock? Is Jesus himself the rock? The truth is that it is not possible to "prove" the papacy from one single verse in the Bible. Papacy can be "proved" from the Bible as a cumulative set of evidence. And Matthew 16:18 is not even the most important pieces of evidence! In this video I will show how papacy can be "proved" from Scripture in two simple moves, without even mentioning Matthew 16:18.The SCARIEST Verse in the Bible for PROTESTANTSThe Jericho Connection2024-03-21 | Does John 6:63 debunk the real presence in the Eucharist? If the Eucharist is the real flesh and blood of Jesus Christ that Christians are supposed to eat to have eternal life, why does Jesus say that "the flesh is of no avail"? Does John 6:63 mean that Jesus was speaking metaphorically? What if, instead, Jesus was speaking literally and John 6:63 does not mean what many Protestants think it means. What if it turns out that John 6:63 may very well be the scariest verse in the Bible for Protestants that do not believe in the real presence?Exposing AGNOSTIC AtheistsThe Jericho Connection2024-03-14 | Who are agnostic atheists? Do they really exists? And what does it mean to be agnostic but at the same time atheist? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? Aren't agnostics and atheists mutually exclusive? Well, if you honestly believe that saying "I don't believe God exists" is substantially DIFFERENT from saying "I believe God doesn't exist," then congratulations! You are officially an agnostic atheist!@logicked Declares He is NOT an Atheist AnymoreThe Jericho Connection2024-02-19 | This is the second rebuttal to @logicked rebuttal to my video on atheism, in which @logicked declares he is NOT an atheist anymore.DEBUNKING FREE GRACE Theology in 3 Minutes with an iPhoneThe Jericho Connection2024-01-05 | In this video we explain the big misunderstanding at the core of "Free Grace Theology." And we will do it with an... iPhone. In just 3 minutes.
Free Grace Theology is spreading fast throughout different Protestant traditions in the United States. The main center where this new "theology" is being taught and preached is the Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX. This "theology" is based on the principle that in order to be saved you do not have to do anything other than "believing" that Jesus can give you eternal life. Nothing else is necessary. No baptism. Not even repentance. And nothing you can do can possibly take away your salvation. No matter how many or how grave sins you may commit until the end of your life, as long as one time in your life you have believed that Jesus can give eternal life you are saved and you will make it to heaven. This "theology" is a recent invention of some North American "scholars" that need to be exposed. Free Grace Theology is a dangerous heresy that is leading many into destruction.@logicked Does Not Understand How the BURDEN OF PROOF WorksThe Jericho Connection2023-12-30 | For Christmas, I received the best gift I could have ever hoped for--an official rebuttal to one of my videos. Woo-hoo. It comes from one of the most popular atheist channels on YouTube (@logicked) and it promises to be in 3 parts! You can find part 1 here:
The video is actually pretty disappointing, filled with the same couple of talking points atheists usually put forward (the burden of proof is on whoever makes a claim, etc.). Here is my quick response to his first rebuttal hoping that in the next two parts he will seriously engage in the argument I'm challenging atheists to consider. The Parable That DESTROYS Luthers JUSTIFICATION TheoryThe Jericho Connection2023-12-23 | Luther's main "breakthrough" is the idea of faith alone, sola fide. But what does that mean in practice? it means that there is supposedly a passive faith that justifies us and an active faith that sanctifies us. The passive faith (faith alone) is the one responsible for our entrance in the kingdom of God through the impute righteousness of Jesus. The active faith (faith working in love) is the one responsible for our sanctification and the amount of rewards we will receive in heaven. However, our justification only depends on the first half of our faith (passive) and has nothing to do with whether we have active faith or not. But is this idea biblical? Does it have any part in the Gospel? Is it really what Jesus taught? Actually there is one simple parable that Jesus told his disciples that undermines this whole theological framework...John 6: Does Jesus Really Want Us to Eat His FLESH and Drink His BLOOD?The Jericho Connection2023-12-14 | In John 6 Jesus says that he is the bread of life and that unless we eat his flesh and drink his blood we don't have eternal life. Was Jesus speaking literally or metaphorically? According to the metaphorical interpretation, embraced by most of Protestant traditions, Jesus simply meant that we need to believe in him. Eating his flesh and drinking his blood would be a metaphor for "absorbing" every single word of Jesus. But does this interpretation explain the data? Is it possible to satisfactorily explain John 6 if he hold to the metaphorical interpretation? And if Jesus was talking literally, what did he mean? Is he asking to perform cannibalism?Gavin Ortlund MISUNDERSTANDS the Problem of Private Judgment in ProtestantismThe Jericho Connection2023-12-09 | Dr. Gavin Ortlund, @TruthUnites , takes on the objection regarding the problem of private judgment in Protestantism. He argues that the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church suffer exactly the same problem. Gavin claims that there is absolutely no difference between the Protestant framework and the Catholic/Eastern Orthodox framework: everyone will have to eventually exercise his/her own private judgment to decide which church to join. But is this what we refer to when we raise the problem of private judgment in Protestantism? And is there really no difference between the Protestant framework and the Apostolic church framework?Mark 2:3: The Story of the PARALYTIC Carried by Four Men || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-12-02 | Remember the story of the paralytic carried on a stretcher by four men? We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 2:3. Jesus has come back to his house in Capharnaum (probably Peter's house) and the news has spread. A lot of people have come to see him preaching the gospel but there is not enough room in the house. At a certain point, something happens. Four men carrying a paralytic on a stretcher try to make their way into the house.EXPOSING Dr. Richard G. Miller @MythVisionPodcast: His Embarrassing Theory About ChristianityThe Jericho Connection2023-12-01 | Dr. Richard G. Miller was recently interviewed by @MythVisionPodcast to explain how Christianity was supposedly born out of legends and myths. Hear his "rigorous" version of the story informed by a mythicist perspective.Mark 2:2: What Did a JEWISH House Look Like at the Time of JESUS?The Jericho Connection2023-11-19 | What did a typical Jewish house look like at the time of Jesus? We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 2:2. Jesus has come back to his house in Capharnaum (probably Peter's house) and the news has spread. A lot of people have come to see him preaching the gospel but there is not enough room in the house. But how big was a Jewish house at that time? What was its structure? It is important to understand how Jewish houses were built to correctly understand what Mark is trying to describe. This understanding will become critical for the right comprehension of the following verses.Faith Alone Does Not Mean Faith Alone (Parody)The Jericho Connection2023-11-17 | Are we saved by faith alone or do we need works to prove we are saved? And if we need works to prove we are saved, then are we really saved by faith alone?Mark 2:1: Jesus is Home || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-11-03 | After a few days spent in solitary places, Jesus comes back home. Jesus is back in Capernaum where he stays at Peter's house. As soon as the rumor spreads, excitement rises: Jesus is home!Mark 1:45: The Man That DISOBEYED Jesus || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-10-28 | Jesus has just healed a leper and commanded him not to say anything to anybody about it. And guess what? The very first thing that the man does is disobeying Jesus and proclaiming left and right the miracle he experienced! As a consequence, Jesus cannot publicly enter a city anymore. He needs to stay away in isolated places. Still, people would come to me from everywhere...Is it God of the Gaps or SCIENCE of the Gaps? The Jericho Connection2023-10-27 | Can NON NATURAL Causation Occur? Is it true that causation only works the way we usually experience it in our life? Natural causation occurs when a cause produces an effect whereas the cause must occur prior to the effect. Therefore, natural causation only makes sense when a concept of time already exists. But for a concept of time to exist, we first need the existence of spacetime. In other words, spacetime must be given before we can even start talking about causation. Therefore, spacetime cannot have a cause. Therefore, God, defined as the necessary uncaused cause of spacetime, cannot exist. This atheist objection is flawed by several logical fallacies.Ray Comfort BULLIES a Catholic Girl into Believing His FALSE GospelThe Jericho Connection2023-10-14 | I expose Ray Comfort while he tries to bully a young Catholic girl into believing his false gospel. This is just one example of Ray Comfort's well known tactic. He picks up a clueless person, barely Christian, who does not know much about his or her faith and does not know anything about what the Bible says, and then he scares them out into believing that they are not "born again." By quoting the Bible out of context and making up statements that are nowhere to be found in the Bible, he has an easy way to convince these clueless people that they are going to hell and they need to be "born again." The video ends with Ray Comfort praying on the girl to make her "born again." This is not the way we should evangelize. This is not the true gospel. The Day Jesus DESTROYED Free Grace TheologyThe Jericho Connection2023-10-09 | What must we do to inherit eternal life? Free grace pastors would respond, "Nothing! Absolutely nothing, other then believing in Jesus!" Free grace theology teaches that no repentance, no baptism, no good words are needed to obtain eternal life. But is this doctrine biblical? Well, according to Jesus, it is not. Jesus is explicitly asked the question "What must we do to inherit eternal life?" And the way he responds is in stark contrast with what free grace pastors teach. Jesus' answer points toward LOVE. The answer is love. Eternal life is only inherited by faith working in love. Cold, intellectual faith is dead, as James explains, and cannot possibly save us. Jesus already clarified how we are to inherit eternal life 2000 years ago. And it's not the answer free grace pastors are trying to convince you about.Mark 1:44: Why Did Jesus Teach the LAW If We Are NOT Under the Law? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-10-06 | Why did Jesus teach the Law if we Are not under the Law? Why did Jesus instruct the cleansed leper to follow the Mosaic Law and go show himself to the high priest bringing offerings for his cleansing as prescribed in Leviticus 14? Didn't Paul preach that we are not under the Law anymore? Didn't he say we are free from the Law? If so, why is Jesus so zealous in making sure the leper complies with the Mosaic Law? Isn't this a contradiction between Jesus and Paul?Did God Unleash His WRATH Upon Jesus On The Cross? The Disturbing Calvinist View of AtonementThe Jericho Connection2023-09-23 | In this video we review a clip of famous Protestant apologist John MacArthur, who explains the Calvinist view of Jesus' atonement on the Cross. MacArthur claims that on Calvary God brought hell on earth and unleashed his wrath on his Son. But is that so? When we say that Jesus died and suffered for our sins, do we mean that God punished Jesus instead of punishing us? Is that the right understanding of atonement? Why would God punish his innocent Son? Wouldn't a judge that punishes an innocent person be the very definition of "unjust judge"? How can God be perfectly just if he punishes an innocent knowing he is innocent? And it is true that, to appease God's wrath, the only way is to have it unleashed upon someone, no matter who that someone is? The disturbing Calvinist view of atonement turns God into a psycho Nazi.Mark 1:43: How To Turn SUFFERING Into BLESSING || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-09-18 | How Can SUFFERING Be a Blessing From God? We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:43. A leper has approached Jesus and recognized his divinity. He prayed to him in a special way and Jesus granted his prayer. And now all of a sudden Jesus seems to be angry at him and sends him away abruptly. Why? This leper had been suffering of leprosy probably all his life and considered cursed by God in the Jewish society of that time. But was his leprosy really a curse from God? Or was it instead a blessing from God?Is the INFALLIBILITY of the Catholic Church Based on a Circular Argument? The Jericho Connection2023-09-15 | Is the CHURCH INFALLIBLE for the Bible Says so? Or is the BIBLE INFALLIBLE for the Church Says so? Today we will go over one of the most subtle objections to Catholicism. How do we know that the magisterium of the Catholic church is infallible? The common answer is: Because Jesus says so in Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18. But how do you know that Matthew is true? If we respond by saying that Matthew is true because the magisterium of the Catholic Church declared the gospel of Matthew a book inspired by God then we should admit that the Catholic position is flawed by a circular argument. But is it so? How can we respond to such an objection? Is the infallibility of the Catholic church based on a circular argument?Mark 1:42: Whats the Point of PRAYING if God Already Knows Our Needs? | The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-09-14 | What's the Point of PRAYING if God Already Knows Our Needs? We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:42. A leper has approached Jesus and recognized his divinity. He prayed to him in a special way and Jesus granted his prayer. But why hadn't God healed the leper before that encounter with Jesus? If God already knew about the leper's wish of being cleansed, why didn't proactively cleansed him of his leprosy? This episode raises the question of the necessity of prayer. Why should we even bother to pray to God if he already knows what we need? Is prayer useless? And the ultimate question: Why does God often seem not responsive to our prayers?Gavin Ortlunds LOW BLOW to the Apostolic ChurchesThe Jericho Connection2023-09-08 | Dr. Gavin Ortlund is one of the most famous and appreciated Protestant apologists out there and he just claimed that the Apostolic Church of the early centuries got corrupted by pagan influences that got incorporated in the theology of the saints, and Mariology in particular. Are these bold accusations of paganism even true? Can they be substantiated by historical evidence? Or are they just a gratuitous low blow to the Apostolic Church? But most of all, if what Gavin Ortlund is saying is true, how can Protestants possibly trust the Bible?Mark 1:41: BART EHRMAN Cannot Explain Why Jesus Said This || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-09-01 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:41. All of a sudden a leper approaches Jesus, kneels down in front of him, and makes an unusual request that violates all the rules prescribed in the Law. The leper has recognized Jesus to be divine and asks him to heal him, if that is his will. Jesus, instead of rebuking him, follows along and heals him, according to his will. We argue that Bart Ehrman, the most famous atheist New testament scholar according to whom Jesus never claimed to be God, cannot possibly explain why Jesus responded the way he did.Mark 1:40: How a Leper Recognized Jesus Was GOD || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-09-01 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:40. All of a sudden a leper approaches Jesus, kneels down in front of him, and makes an unusual request that violates all the rules prescribed in the Law. Why is this leper willing to break all the rules spelled out in the book of Leviticus? What did he recognize in Jesus?Mark 1:39: CALVINISTS Cannot Explain Why Jesus Did This || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-08-20 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:39. Jesus has gone to a solitary place early in the morning to pray. When Peter and the other disciples wake up they start searching for him desperately. Finally they find him and tell him that everybody has been searching for him. Jesus does not give any explanation but urges his disciples to move on to the next villages around the Lake of Galilee. He needs to preach the gospel there as he has preached it in Capernaum. What are these other villages? Chorazin, for example. Bethsaida, for instance. All these cities will come up again in another passage of the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus will launch an anathema against them because they did not repent. We argue that Calvinists cannot possibly explain why Jesus did this.Mark 1:38: An ENIGMATIC Expression Reveals Jesus Divinity || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-07-28 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:38. He needs to preach the gospel there as he has preached it in Capharnaum. And then he adds an enigmatic expression...Mark 1:37: Why Would Jesus HIDE From Us? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-07-26 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:37. Jesus has gone to a solitary place early in the morning to pray. When Peter and the other disciples wake up they start searching for him desperately. Finally they find him and tell him that everybody has been searching for him. We already saw in Mark 1:36 that this search for the "lost" Jesus is a foreshadow of his death and resurrection, but today we will show that this parallelism goes back to the very infancy of Jesus, when he was just a young boy, lost in Jerusalem for three days...Exposing FREE GRACE Theology as the HERESY of the New MillenniumThe Jericho Connection2023-07-18 | Free Grace Theology is spreading fast throughout different Protestant traditions in the United States. Catholics may get challenged by Protestants with this question, "How can the Eucharist save you, if the Eucharist is something you do?" Within the Protestant framework of sola fide, or faith alone, no work can possibly save us. Claiming that a work we do saves us equals to detracting from the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. But is the Eucharist a work? And is it a work we do? The solution to this question is to flip the argument upside down and show that Eucharist is not something. It is somebody.Mark 1:36: How a Grammatical ERROR Reveals the Primacy of Peter || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-07-07 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:36. This is the shortest verse so far but a few important considerations can be drawn. We can appreciate the ability of Mark in describing with quick brush strokes that leave much unsaid. We will also analyze a seemingly grammatical error in the verse. Why is the subject plural but the verb is conjugated in the singular? The answer lies in the primacy of Peter among the disciples that is clear from the very beginning of the Gospel.Mark 1:34: Why Did Jesus Order Demons NOT to Reveal Who He Was? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-07-05 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:34. Jesus has just healed Simon Peter's mother-in-law. But all of a sudden a large multitude of people are gathering outside the door. And Jesus heals them all. In particular, Jesus drives out many demons and does not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. They knew he was the Son of God. But why didn't Jesus want the demons to reveal who he was? Was not Jesus' mission to reveal himself as the divine Messiah? And why are the demons so eager to reveal that he is the divine Messiah? How can this make any sense?Mark 1:35: How a Casual Verse in Mark Foreshadows the RESURRECTION || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-07-05 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:35. Jesus has spent the previous day healing many people till late at night. He then stays at Peter's house to spend the night, but extremely early in the morning, when it is still completely dark outside, he gets up and slips out of the house to go pray in a secluded place. This sounds like a pretty common practice of Jesus, doesn't it? Well, there is much more to that. There are at least three hints that this verse is just not a simple casual remark. In fact, there are good reasons to believe that this verse indeed foreshadows Jesus' resurrection.Mark 1:33: An EYEWITNESS Account Right From Peters Mouth || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-06-01 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:33. Jesus has just healed Simon Peter's mother-in-law. But all of a sudden a large multitude of people are gathering outside the door. That is not just one door of a random house. That is the door of Peter's house in Capernaum. The door that Peter had gone through so many times when he was going out fishing at night and coming back from fishing early in the morning. This verse (Mark 1:33) that is only found in Mark even though the same episode is narrated by both Matthew and Luke, is a little treasure that Mark got right from Peter's mouth--from the apostle's own eyewitness account. Why Did Jesus Ask Peter Do You Love Me? THREE TIMES?The Jericho Connection2023-05-27 | At the end of the Gospel of John, soon after the miraculous fishing, Jesus sits down with his disciples to eat breakfast and pops the question, "Peter, do you love me?" Peter obviously responds that he loves him but, incredibly enough, Jesus asks him the same question again. And again. Three times. Why is he doing that? Is Jesus being intentionally stubborn? What is going on here? Is Jesus really asking the same question three times? If so, why? And what if the problem lies in the English translation of the passage?Mark 1:32: Why Were They Bringing The Sick To Jesus AFTER SUNSET? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-05-23 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:32. Jesus has just healed Simon Peter's mother-in-law. But all of a sudden a large multitude of people are gathering outside the door. They are bringing to Jesus all the sick and the demon possessed so that he may heal them too. But how could they all know that Jesus had this healing power? The only person that Jesus had healed was Peter's mother-in-law so far... And why all of a sudden during the evening after sunset? Why couldn't they bring the sick during the day?Mark 1:31: This Is How Jesus Will RAISE You Up || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-05-08 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:31. Jesus has just entered the house of Simon Peter and Andrew and his disciples let him know about Simon's mother-in-law. She is in bed with a high fever. The disciples inform Jesus about her condition, and Jesus performs another miracle. He approaches her, he grabs her hand, and he raise her up. The fever is gone, and she can attend on them right away. What lesson can we learn from this miraculous healing?Mark 1:30: Wait, What? Peter Had a WIFE? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-04-29 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:30. Jesus has just entered the house of Simon Peter and Andrew and his disciples let him know about Simon's mother-in-law. She is in bed with a high fever. But wait, what? Simon Peter had a wife? Well, yes, he did. Even though her name is not known, tradition has it that she followed Peter in his evangelization journeys until she died martyr, exactly as her husband. But the most interesting part of this verse in the Gospel of Mark is not Peter's mother-in-law or Peter's wife. It is something else--the intercessory prayer of Jesus' disciples.Mark 1:29: Off To the HOUSE of Simon Peter and Andrew || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-03-30 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:29. Jesus has just performed an exorcism inside a synagogue in Capernaum on a Sabbath. People are petrified at what they have seen. They are astonished at this new teaching of Jesus' which is done in authority and power. From this moment on, his fame spreads out, quickly and in every direction, like an acoustic wave, till the very end of the region of Galilee. He is now famous and with his disciples Simon and Andrew, James and John, he immediately enters the house of Simon Peter and Andrew.Mark 1:28: The Day Jesus Became FAMOUS || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-03-30 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:28. Jesus has just performed an exorcism inside a synagogue in Capernaum. People are petrified at what they have seen. They are astonished at this new teaching of Jesus' which is done in authority and power. While also Pharisees had their exorcists, Jesus' miracle is unique. He is not appealing at any higher authority. He has authority over the unclean spirits. He gives them orders and they obey him. But who is he who has power of the evil spirits? From this moment on, his fame spreads out, quickly and in every direction, like an acoustic wave, till the very end of the region of Galilee. He is now famous.Mark 1:27: WHAT Is This? || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-03-22 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:27. Jesus is performing an exorcism inside a synagogue in Capernaum. People are petrified at what they are seeing and they wonder, "What is this?" They are astonished at this new teaching of Jesus' which is done in authority and power. While also Pharisees had their exorcists, Jesus' miracle is unique. He is not appealing at any higher authority. He has authority over the unclean spirits. He gives them orders and they obey him. But who is he who has power of the evil spirits?Mark 1:26: Whats a Demon Got to Do with Jesus LAST WORDS || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-03-21 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:26. Jesus is performing an exorcism inside a synagogue in Capernaum. People are astonished at what they are seeing. The unclean spirit finally leaves the body of the poor man after throwing him to the floor into convulsions and crying out in a loud voice. Surprisingly enough, this type of dynamics is turned around on the cross when Jesus speaks his last words...This Is Why Anglicans Should NOT Believe in Their BibleThe Jericho Connection2023-02-24 | In this video we will prove that, if Anglicans were to be faithful to their 39 articles of faith, they should conclude that they should NOT believe in the Bible.
Don't believe me? Check out the video.Does Scripture Interpret Scripture? The Jericho Connection2023-02-24 | In this video we propose a critique of the first 10 articles of the Westminster Confession of Faith, which was adopted by the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America in 1789. In particular, we will focus on the problem of the correct interpretation of Scripture. What is Scripture? How can we define Scripture? Do we need an infallible authority to determine the correct doctrines, or does Scripture interpret Scripture? Is sola scriptura a viable hermeneutical tool? And who is the supreme judge for all matters of faith? The pope, the magisterium of the Church, or Scripture itself?Mark 1:25: A Striking PARALLELISM between YHWH and Jesus || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-02-13 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:25. Jesus is inside a synagogue in Capernaum and encounters a man possessed by an unclean spirit. The evil spirit recognizes him and starts crying out in distress calling him "the Holy one of God". At this point Jesus rebukes the unclean spirit and commands him to be silent. There is a striking parallelism between this passage in Mark 1:25 and a similar passage in Mark 4:39, when Jesus rebukes the wind and commands the sea to be silent. But who can possibly have the power to rebuke Satan and the powers of nature? To respond to this question, we need to look at two similar passages in the Old Testament...Mark 1:24: An UNCLEAN Spirit Proves that Jesus is God || The Gospel of Mark in GreekThe Jericho Connection2023-02-09 | We continue the study of the Gospel of Mark in Greek by analyzing Mark 1:24. Jesus is inside a synagogue in Capernaum and encounters a man possessed by an unclean spirit. The evil spirit recognizes him and starts crying out in distress. Why is the unclean spirit so upset to meet Jesus? Why is he asking if Jesus came to destroy him? Why does he sound so surprised? Doesn't Satan know from the beginning of time that Jesus will eventually destroy him? Why does he first call him "Jesus of Nazareth"? And why does he eventually recognize him as "the holy one of God"? Who is "the holy one of God"?
