The She-Ra reboot is amazing and you all should check it out if you haven't already. The show has a great mix of action, adventure, relatable characters, and is real gay. So it's basically got everything. Also I know I've been gone for a real long time and I can explain! Back in April of 2018 I got hired to work as a PA for CN's On-Air promotion, which is incredible! I've been hard at work doing a lot of promos and interstitials for CN, and because of that- I totally slowed down on making personal projects with the extra workload. Having said that, I think I'm finally starting to find a balance and am planning a few more videos to put out in the next- ah 2-4 months. Yaay! It's been a pretty crazy 1.5 years (RIP), but I just wanted to let you all know that I've been reading and appreciating all of your messages during my quiet period. I literally wouldn't have my current job if I hadn't spent the past time learning and growing on here. I HIGHLY encourage all you fellow editors to keep making your own stuff and experimenting. You Are The Moon | Steven Universe AMV (Request) PurviewProductions 2015-07-04 | Second request video in this batch and boy is it a punch in the feels. I feel like this one could use some explaining. I wanted to focus on several parallels in this video, between Pearl and her lingering memories of Rose and Lapis and her feelings of helplessness and being controlled. Most importantly, though, I wanted to explore the ways in which Amethyst's journey with the crystal gems reflects the fictional adoption her favorite sitcom character, Lil' Butler. For Amethyst, however, her adoption is tinged with the insecurity and self-loathing that resulted from her creation as a "bad gem" and she struggles with this a lot in the show. And while Amethyst and Pearl do get some comfort/closure at the end, Lapis still hasn't reached that point for herself and the video is meant to reflect that. Eh, this one's not too uplifting so feel free to skip it if that's not your cup of tea. Pretty proud of the work I did on it regardless.
