That was my very first Celeste TAS.
Any reviews or comments about skips or optimizations I missed would be very appreciated (especially on those flat sections with ultra chains and all).
This was done as part of a French speedrun event called Ultime Decatlhon 9. The goal is to learn and compete on 8 out of a list of 10 speedruns over 3 months. I'm now uploading some of the runs I spent the most time on, even though these are far from good/optimized. I approximately spent 8-10 hours of grinding of each of these games + the countless hours of doing the game casually and learning the speedrun.

I can't imagine how hard it is to reach sub 20s, I've been stuck at 33s-30s for over 6 months until now. I'll certainly never achieve it anyway.
2m18s better than my NG Any% Run.
I will add the music and voices at the end of the project.
Notes: -0:54 I don't know where this little cut comes from. It's present on the original record, even if I don't remember having it on the original gameplay.
-4:28 This transition isn't perfect at all, that's not the biggest problem but if I can I will solve that later.
-9:24 This is purely RNG, as I know. I have to wait until 5 Olympians get caught. There are certainly few seconds to save here but it depends only on luck.
-12:23 Maybe 1s to save here, with better rolls and jumps.
You can throw them, but that's all. If you try to shoot them with an electric arrow, it won't explode. And by dropping the chunk, all his gravitational properties do not exist anymore, making this flying luminous red chunk.
When you take another chunk in the vein, the earlier instances are deleted. So there is no way to clone an infinite amount of these.
To be honest I don't know exactly how it works. My supposition is that you take or drop the chunk at the exact same time of the explosion, turning it into a glitched state.
It's completely useless but well... it's still a glitch ^^.
I've been slow compared to the optimal speed but this video is just to show how faster and better this tactic is.
Also, forgive me for the lack of timer and the confusing transition of the two screens, I'm uploading this through ShareFactory and I didn't find a way to do/delete these "-".
The damages are fairly low, but it can be very effective since some enemies can dodge most of your damages.
This is just a Freeze grenade breakout on these cylinders, skipping 5s of animation.
So just did this on every cylinder except the last one, because the Joker cutscene depends on the skipped animation. Save around 15s
Made in around 1 hour
I upload everything, from my accidental discovery to the moment I give up.
I don't see any utility on the speedrun but that's still interesting
Activating Mirage just when the robot hack you will make the Character invisible. That's just a visual glitch, so nothing really important change.
Also don't mind for the title. (and for my english.)
Not that the Utof's run has been made on the 1.1 version, all the major skips he used are now patched on the newest version (i used here). So all the major skips I use on this run are new.
Btw, this game is really fun to play casually. You can play it for free, or for your own price if you want to support the game, here: nusan.itch.io/fragments-of-euclid
We can't go in the base, and the main quest stays lock on the prologue.
But at least we know that it's possible to explore the whole world (with others starts) during the prologue ^^.
So the game prevents that by deleting this possibility.
But if we get out of the edge range by doing constantly an action, and go back on a "stand" state, the game will reallow the possibility to climb down for 1 frame, until it realised that we are out of the range. (as you can see at 00:16)
So, here is few examples.
I hope this work with others actions like corner cover, etc.
And 09s better than my previous WIP video on this part of the game.
I will add the music and voices at the end of the project.
In this specific example, I was in a shooting section, so the camera stay lock until you go to another place with a locked camera.
Unfortunately, this oob can't be used as a skip.
The trigger load only at the end of the fight.
I just made 3 mistakes that cost me few seconds.
It's not the perfect run at all, there is few more optimisation, my sum of best is of 9:48.
If you have some difficulties to see every movement try to concentrate on the sound, You can ear a sword sound at every move (almost)
It's very important to precise that every move has to be done with specific weapons
On this video, i use the weapons set that the demo starts with
○Weapon set 1: Ⅰ- Virtuous treaty (used for light attack and lift-up)
Ⅱ- Virtuous contract
○Weapon set 2: Ⅰ- Virtuous contract
Ⅱ- Virtuous treaty (used for the strength attack)
Here is how it's organize
Time: Name (Weapon set at the beginning)
Inputs needed
Move needed (same things than inputs but with the names of the moves)
Notes
0:00: High Jump Core Setup (Weapon set 2)
Inputs: ● X →Triangle →X →Triangle →R2+Triangle
Move: ●Jump →Strongh Attack →Jump →Strongh Attack →Dash strike
The basic idea is to do a strong attack (triangle) between each action
0:24: High jump core (Weapon set 2)
Inputs: ●X+Triangle →Triangle →X →Triangle →R2+Triangle
Move: ● Lift Up →Strongh Attack →Jump →Strongh Attack →dash strike
Replace the initial jump by a lift-up for more heigh
0:53: 1rst Lift up setup (Weapon set 1)
Inputs: ●6x Square
Move: ●6x Light attack
1:04: 1st Lift up (Weapon set 1)
Inputs: ●6x Square →Up →Triangle →X+Triangle
Move: ●6x Light Attack →Change Weapons →Strongh attack →Lift up
The lift up at the end is the same than the lift up for High jump core v2
1:41: Complete High Jump (Weapon set 1)
Inputs: ● 6x Square →Up →Triangle →X+Triangle →Triangle →X →Triangle →R2+Triangle
Move: ● 6x Light Attack →Change Weapons →Strongh attack →Lift up →Strongh Attack →Jump →Strongh Attack →dash strike
Just add the 1st Lift Up and the High Jump core together
EDIT: Be warned, on the full game the weapons must have to be upgraded for unlocking combo. So you must have to upgrade at the max level if you want to do this.
With a perfect run (i mean with a good rng on fight) sub 10:10 is possible
I made few mistakes but it's good enough for me ^^
If 2B fall on a death trigger (normally drone bring you back at the previous checkpoint) but without activating any checkpoint, the drone will bring you back at an unexistent checkpoint (i guess it's understandable).
This checkpoint is probably the centre of the map or the place where 2B is loaded first.
Fortunately, there is a frame when you can enter in the pause menu, a quit the game the right way.
Pretty useless on this demo actually btw.
I did few mistakes but overall I'm happy with it.
Timer start at 0:03 and end on the last hit at 10:53
Credit goes to OneSanitarium to the extent long jump by punching over and over ^^
Ⅰ: It's possible to leave the fight with the first saw by dash the faster as you can on this place that going to be destroyed. This was supposed to be a skip but unfortunately, like the first potential skip I upload, the final area doesn't load.
Ⅱ: The strike attack (R2+Triangle on air) have so weird collisions sometimes, this one is a good example. It's more consistent with gaining some high before.
Then, on the left of the OoB, it's possible to glide to a "secret" area. Note that it's impossible to leave this one. (Credit go to OneSanitarium to discover this area, I didn't saw his video before)
Ⅲ: I already used this OoB in my previous video (youtu.be/8V4GMjwv2Fs). It's possible to reach the top of the tower at the end with a couple of high jumps, and reach the next part of the demo, unfortunately, the last area doesn't load.
Ⅳ: This is the most consistent of them, but the most useless too
Ⅴ: This kind of barrier can be cross easily if we start a high jump from an elevated platform. Then I try to reach the top of the building, but unfortunately, the ladder is not usable and I don't find any other way. This has a potential to skip the first part of the boss because it looks like the place where we reach 9S
Ⅵ: Without a doubt, the most interesting, I already explored this big area in a previous video (youtu.be/MzHf5rGu6WA). But warning, in some spot it's possible to begin an endless fall
During the first part of the video you will see me doing a lot's of the long jump (Found by AKheon) and high jump OoB, the goal was to skip the fight and all the platform section before. And I did it.
But later in the game, the second fight section didn't start, I guess it's because I didn't do the first one.
Because of that the next zone doesn't load
So I can't do the boss BUT I have access to a "secret" area, or at least an area where I'm not supposed to be
Thx for the 1k view!
For that, i use a lot's the High Jump I found (video soon), that allows me to do few interesting skips
I also turn off the auto attack/shoot because it's not enough fast for a speedrun
This is not the optimal time at all, I think sub 11:30 is possible
Timer start at 00:14 and end when the boss is killed at 12:10
I'm sry if someone already found it before
The goal is to jump right after a roll, the character will gain speed, this is the long jump
This speed maintained as long as he didn't touch any obstacle. So, with a good use of the jetpack, it's possible to cross a long distance easily.
So, at this point in the game, it's not possible to continue your ascension without having an item, that you can get on an island.
But it's possible to skip all this part
▲I don't know if it's possible to finish the game without this item actually▲
The first thing to do is to reach the top of the machine, on the left. Then it will be necessary to reach the top of the barrier behind this wall. This part is tricky but with the ability to go back in time, it's possible to retry as much as possible.
Finally, just do a long jump to the elevator on the left, it doesn't matter you land in the boss zone, it's possible to cross the barrier easily with the jetpack.
