Today, Vick is unboxing an autographed Sample 1985 Chicago Air Jordan 1 in brand new condition. Have you ever seen an ‘85 Jordan 1 that looks this good? This particular pair of Chicago Jordan 1s is a Player Sample for MJ himself. So, how do we know they’re MJ’s sample? The shoe sizes. Interestingly, MJ wore two different sizes on court — 13 & 13.5. The signature was authenticated by two independent sources, Beckett and PSA, so there’s no question that the autograph is legit. But what about the shoes? Finding a 1985 Air Jordan 1 in this condition is a rarity, so it’s natural to be skeptical about the authenticity of the sneakers. After consulting some fellow sneaker experts Vick was able to determine that the shoes were 100% authentic. How crazy is that? At this point, you’re probably wondering what a shoe in this condition with the OG box goes for. Vick’s best guess is anywhere from $150-160k. $100k Nike SB Paris Dunks Restoration RESHOEVN8R 2022-11-28 | Today Vick is working on one of the most expensive shoes ever, the Nike SB Paris Dunk. In brand new condition, the Paris Dunk sells for around 100k, but the pair Vick got his hands on is pretty beat. To restore the Paris Dunks we’re going to use the Essential Kit, Dry Suede Kit, Sneaker Wipes, Mink Oil, & our Sneaker Deodorizer. You can find all of these products at reshoevn8r.com.Back to the Dunks! Vick used the Essential Kit and Solution to clean up the uppers, then used some Sneaker Wipes to scrub the midsole. The Dry Suede Kit came in clutch for the dingy, dirty suede on the toe box and mid foot area. After the full deep clean both inside and out, Vick put the Paris Dunks in the Vick 2000 UV setup to brighten the midsoles. Then, he reset the nap with the Medium Brush and applied Mink Oil to keep the suede lush. The last step of this restoration was a puff of our Sneaker Deodorizer, because your shoes should smell as fresh and they look! Off they go to the original owner! I Customized Jordan 4s for the Phoenix Suns RESHOEVN8R 2022-11-21 | Vick made custom Jordan 4s to celebrate the launch of the Phoenix Suns brand new City Edition Jerseys. The new threads are inspired by the 22 Indigenous Tribes that live here in Arizona. Vick has worked on a lot of projects with the Suns in the past, but this is by far the most meaningful and impactful. The base shoe for this custom Jordan 4 was the Military Black Jordan 4. Vick used Rit Dye to dye the shoes to match the jersey, then added a lot of fine details that complete the story-telling aspect of these customs. Each design element was made to mimic the designs found on the new City Edition jerseys. This included the new Suns logo on the tongue, references to all 22 tribes on the midsole, and the word "Suns" in all of the different dialects on the insole. This custom took a lot of work, and Vick was on a pretty strict deadline. As he always does, he worked day and night to complete these commemorative customs, and the hard work paid off. I Made Custom Panda Dunks For Jake Paul RESHOEVN8R 2022-11-14 | In just 24 hours Vick created custom Panda Dunks for for boxer and influencer Jake Paul. Ready to see how it turned out?Jake Paul was down in PHX a few weeks ago for his big fight against Anderson Silva. To commemorate the fight and his win, Vick made Paul some custom dunks. The base shoe for the custom was the Panda Dunk because it mimics Paul’s boxing shorts. The first step to this custom was the laser engraving. Eric and Vick engraved one shoe with Paul’s company, betr, and the other with his nickname, Problem Child. Vick then gave the shoes a subtle paint job with an iridescent white tone. Now it’s time for custom tags and insoles. Normally Vick would rely on D-Nice Customs to do this, but with the 24 hour time restraint, Vick had to get creative and do it himself. They turned out awesome. The tongue tags feature Paul’s boxing record, 6-0. The final step was the most crucial. Vick called in his good buddy GemiFly to ice out the laser engravings. Instead the inspiration and color-blocking was taken from the Toronto Huskies, one of the original professional basketball teams from BEFORE the time of the NBA.Enough about the shoes, let's talk about what makes Sole Shields so special. What can Sole Shields do for you? When properly applied, Sole Shields can prevent yellowing and sole oxidation, heel drag, and more. If you want to keep your shoes looking DS then Sole Shields are an excellent choice.The first step to a Sole Shield application is to clean the bottom of your shoes with an alcohol prep pad. Air Jordan 2 Union Customs - How to Cut and Sew RESHOEVN8R 2022-10-31 | You saw us clean both pairs of the Union Air Jordan 2 for Shoe Care Academy, now Vick is going to take those same pairs, chop them up, and make some sweet custom shoes! It's not very often that you get two custom shoes in one video. Vick is going to swap the collars on one of the pairs of the Union Air Jordan 2 and turn the other into a low-top version of the sneaker. Are you excited to see how these turn out? It's become sort of a trend to chop up high-top sneakers and turn them into lows, so we're stoked that Vick is able to showcase his talent and put his own spin on this custom Union Jordan 2. But first, let's give both pairs a deep clean with the RESHOEVN8R Essential Kit. Vick relied on the Solution and 3 Brushes to get the job done. With a clean base to work with, now we can move on to sneaker surgery. Vick used an X-acto knife to chop off the collar from both the Grey Fog and Rattan pairs, then used a Dremel to clean up the rough cut lines. Here's where stuff gets interesting. Vick then glued the collar from the Rattan AJ2 onto the Grey Fog AJ2, but left the Rattan AJ2 as a low-top. After adding stitching to each shoe and staining the exposed foam to give it an aged look, both of these custom Union Air Jordan 2s are complete. Air Jordan 1 Restoration - Fixing Scratched Leather RESHOEVN8R 2022-10-17 | Do your Jordans look worse than your jumper? Let’s fix that. Today Vick will show you how to repair scratched leather on the Phantom Air Jordan 1 from 2019. This pair of Jordan 1s has seen it all despite being just a few years old. The back has some deep scratches in the leather, the toebox is separating from the sole, and the entire shoe is in desperate need of a deep clean. Time to watch the master at work! The first step to any good shoe restoration is a deep clean. Vick used the RESHOEVN8R Signature Kit and Patented Laundry System to breath new lift into these dusty Js. Fresh out of the wash, our Phantom Jordan 1s are looking much better, but they’re still pretty yellow. Sole Revive to the rescue! Vick used the Sole Revive and his trusty Vick 2000 UV setup to unyellow the soles and whiten the upper of the shoe. Now for the hardest part, fixing the scratches. Vick started by sanding down the affected area, then used a few layers of leather filler to fill in the scratches. Finally he finished it off with a new coat of paint to preserve that OG look and feel. To finish the restoration Vick used the iron method to decrease the toebox, this is a good trick to remember for later, it’s really easy to remove creases from your leather Jordan 1s. I Ruined These Shoes | Dont Try This Bleach Method! RESHOEVN8R 2022-10-10 | We ruined these shoes with bleach. Luckily we were able to save this custom and turn it into something amazing! When Rit Dye sent over a huge care package, we knew Vick Almighty was going to cook up something special. Just a few weeks ago Vick made a Dip-Dyed custom Jordan that turned out great, and this Tie-Dye custom Jordan 1 is no different. The idea was to bleach the Denim Air Jordan 1 and then dye it with Rit Dye. However the first pair was ruined. Vick submerged the shoes in bleach for 30 minutes, and this completely ruined the leather. Luckily we were able to grab another pair from our sneaker store Many Worlds, and used a brush to apply the bleach to only the denim instead. Let this be a lesson: DON'T bleach leather shoes! Time to add some color to this mostly white Jordan! There were a lot of colors of Rit Dye to choose from. Vick decided to work with some of the sunset tones…yellow, blue, orange, purple, pink, and teal. In contrast to the last dyed custom where Vick mixed the dye with water and submerged the shoes, he opted to apply the dye straight onto the material using a squeeze bottle. Dyeing the shoes this way produced much brighter tones, but was much easier to mess up. Applying dye directly onto the material doesn’t give you any room for error. Thank goodness Vick has the hands of a surgeon! Vick also added some custom Nike logos and redid the tongue tags to really bring this custom to life. Then he painted the leather to match the sole, and finished it off with a the Dremel to give the denim a distressed look and feel. Do you like how these turned out? It’s been really fun to experiment with new ways to customize shoes and to get Vick out of his comfort zone! How To Swap Jordan 3 Back Tab RESHOEVN8R 2022-10-03 | Got a pair of 3s that would look better with that OG Nike Air on the back? Today you'll learn how to swap Jordan 3 back tabs. This is one of Vick's most simple projects, but one that can make a huge difference for your favorite pair of Air Jordan 3s. The best part is that by following the instructions in this video, you should be able to complete a Jordan 3 back tab swap at home without too much trouble at all. Ready? Let's get it. Arguably the hardest part of this whole project is finding the right donor tabs. You have a few options here; you can either cut them off of a pair that you already own, or you can find someone that custom makes them. The latter is the cheaper and preferred option. In Vick's case, he had a pair laying around for a project you all might be familiar with, the recreation of the 1988 Jordan 3. Now that we have our donor back tabs picked out, it's time to remove the current Jumpman back tab. All you really need here is a seam ripper. Be careful not to damage the Elephant Print! Once you've got the back tab removed, it's time to add some simulated stitching to your donor. This will ensure that the shoes still look factory, without the messy stitching on the inside of the sock liner. Time for glue! Make sure you apply it evenly, let it cure properly, and take your time with alignment. Once your backtabs are applied, you're good to go! Swapping back tabs is an easy way to spruce up any Jordan 3 (or 4) in just a few steps. What do you guys think? Louis Vuitton Custom Air Force 1 Sneakers RESHOEVN8R 2022-09-26 | We couldn't get our hands on the Nike AF1 Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh, so Vick Almighty decided to make his own. He made these custom LV Air Force 1s by cutting up a REAL LV bag that he bought at Sneakercon Las Vegas earlier this year. This project was a big undertaking, but it came out so clean. As mentioned, some of the key details were made using a real LV bag. That classic LV monogram print looked great on the custom Nike swooshes that Vick made out of the bag. Some other details include the laser engraved LV monogram print, the custom paint job, and the custom tongue tag. Our favorite detail is the LV symbols that were engraved into the midsole, this touch just took this custom Air Force 1 over the top. Vick made these shoes with a purpose...to give them away at Sneaker Con Phoenix. The whole event was a success, and the lucky winner was so hyped to receive this custom 1-of-1 pair of Louis Vuitton Air Force 1s. What do you think? How To Clean Air Jordan 1 Chicago RESHOEVN8R 2022-09-22 | Everybody needs to own a pair of Air Jordan 1s. That also means that everyone should know how to clean Air Jordan 1s. Today Megell is back to show you how to clean his favorite shoe ever, the Air Jordan 1 Chicago. Keep in mind that the methods used to clean the Chicago 1s will apply just as well to any pair of leather Jordan 1s that you own…yes, even Jordan 1 Mids. For today’s cleaning our product of choice is the Deep Clean Signature Bundle The Deep Clean Signature Bundle gives you the ability to clean your shoes with the brushes and wash them in the washing machine with the Laundry System. We’ll be taking advantage of both of these cleaning methods to get the Chicago Jordan 1 looking right. Megell started off this cleaning with a quick dry brush of the sneaker to get rid of any loose dirt and debris. Then he went straight into cleaning the plush leather upper of the Chicago 1 with the Soft Bristle Brush and Solution. For deeper stains on the midsole Megell used the Medium Brush, and finished the preliminary cleaning by scrubbing the outsole with the Stiff Brush. After treating the Jordan 1s with Solution, everything but the tongue is looking clean. In order to flush out the tongue and make it white again Megell put the shoes into the washing machine with a Sneaker Laundry Pod. This step is key for cleaning dingy tongues, it’s the only way to flush out the locked-in stains and dirt from that area of the shoe. Now that the Chicago 1s are out of the wash, they’re looking like the GOAT once again. All that’s left is to lace ‘em and then rock ‘em! What’s your all-time favorite Jordan 1? I Made Custom Shoes For Kid Cudi And He Wore Them! RESHOEVN8R 2022-09-19 | We couldn’t wait to share this one with you! Today Vick is making custom shoes for Kid Cudi. Yes, that Kid Cudi. To celebrate his ongoing “To the Moon” tour including a stop in Phoenix, the Footprint Center reached out to Vick Almighty to see what he could come up with. As we all know, Vick is the best in the game…but this custom for Kid Cudi was a big undertaking. When you’re working on a project for an artist this big it can be a little intimidating, but we know you’ll love what Vick came up with. The base shoe for this custom was the Military Black Jordan 4, and the inspiration was taken from a few of Kid Cudi’s most popular albums, Man on the Moon: The End of Day and The Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Vick employed a lot of different techniques and skills in order to make this custom for Kid Cudi. He started by dyeing the sneakers with Rit Dye, and then painted the different portions of the upper with gradient patterns to mimic Cudi’s album covers. He even made his own galaxy print which really set the midsole off. Some of the awesome custom touches included tongue tags made by D-Nice Customs, laser engravings of Kid Cudi’s logo, and custom insoles to match. The most time-consuming and coolest part of this Kid Cudi custom Air Jordan is the custom lighting that Vick installed inside of the Air unit. The LED lights inside of the Air bubble add so much to the “To the Moon” theme of the sneaker. We think this custom Jordan for Kid Cudi turned out awesome! Because this shoe is primarily leather, we used the RESHOEVN8R Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit to give it a proper deep clean inside and out. Rob started with the Soft Bristle Brush to remove any surface dirt and debris, and then used the Medium Bristle Brush to scrub the midsole.
