If you're wondering which SPF to use on your face and want a premium, everyday product that feels nice on the skin then grab a notepad because I've ploughed through dozens and dozens of sunscreens to narrow it down to my current favourites.They are all incredibly lightweight, perfect for people who hate the feel of applying SPF. You'll notice that three of them are SPF30, the other two are higher protection SPF50. Of course SPF50 will always give you better protection, but I think it's equally important to find a product that you LIKE applying so that you apply it daily and you apply enough of it to get the stated protection. (Two "fingers" of product for the face and neck - it's a lot of product!)I often find the SPF50 products to have a residue that annoys me, even on the most beautifully formulated products and so for everyday use with incidental sun exposure (ie I'm not sat baking hot on a beach or in the garden for long periods!) then SPF30 is fine for me. Using huge buffing brushes and a tan mist, you create these really fine layers of colour that you can build up in certain areas to contour and shape the face and body. I know that’s not mind-blowingly revolutionary but it’s pretty unusual and actually, I quite like it. It’s handy for travel and I use a lot less product than if I use a balm in a pot, which is handy because this isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination! I just slick a little on and massage it in and if I leave it for a while to let the enzymatic exfoliants get to work then it feels great because it’s so moisturising. Multi-tasking luxury! Sounds mad, but it really works and it takes just seconds to splosh it all over rather than laboriously massaging in a body cream. I love it as a time saver! I’ve been using Sky Glass since last year and can honestly say that there’s nothing I don’t like about it. I thought initially that I was just swayed by its looks: it’s sleek, it has everything built in so no need for extra boxes, dishes, soundbars and it comes in three sizes and five different colours! But it was what was on the inside that became my favourite thing - the amazing search feature and the playlist feature. Rather than searching through each app, one by one, because you can’t remember where such-and-such series is, you simply ask Sky. It finds it instantly. See demo in the video! We’ve had a Nest thermostat for about seven years and it makes it really easy to take control of your heating. You can control it remotely, via the app, easily create a schedule so that the heating never comes on when you’re all at work or school and I love that it comes on when you go near to it, a bit like it’s alive. Just marvellous. Highly recommend; we’ve bought four over the years so that should be a fair indication of how good it is! Wooden toaster tongs. Need no explanation, they do what they do. But they do it so triumphantly that you wonder why toasters don’t just come with these already attached. Every toaster needs a pair. It doesn’t come close to the Miele Animal one in terms of power, but the fact I’m not tethered by a cord more than makes up for that. Plus the Miele sucks up everything within a two mile radius which means I’m always retrieving lego pieces from it. I’m sure Dyson probably have a newer model that’s superseded this one, but I can tell you that this has great battery life (it does about 45 mins, which is plenty for me as I hoover often!) and works really well moving from carpet to wood floors or tiles. No need to change the head. Please don’t even ask me about that bloody Eufy robot vacuum which is the bane of my life. I’m a big advocate of seeing a hygienist every now and then. It’s expensive (seems to always be more expensive than seeing the dentist for some reason!) but if you can stretch to it even every few years than I think that it can keep you on track with what you’re supposed to be doing. I was missing out one weird section of my teeth for some reason and would never have realised it myself… And then I finish off with feet. And my new “weekly sandpapering” habit. Rather than waiting until late spring to take off half of my foot skin and leave myself hobbling I’m attempting the “little and often” approach. I have this amazing battery sander that I really enjoy using but beginning to realise that maybe I’m not responsible enough to be trusted with it: I always go over the top! So little and often, gently gently with my manual foot file is probably the way forward. I also treated myself to a gel pedicure and might keep up with that even though it annoys me that the polish on the little toes grows out in a matter of weeks and stays on the big toes for about seven months! Some tweaks to your normal routine that take no time but will make loads of difference to the final result. For me, the Seamless Concealer is a star buy; it’s buildable and blurring and doesn’t sit in fine lines. If you love easy makeup and don’t want to have to spend an age blending and setting then you’ll love this concealer. It’s really flexible and doesn’t sit in fine lines.
