The Chevy Chase Show - Dan Ackroyd, Susan Montgomery WIlliams
updated
The first selection is actually quite good.... A chilling tale of an old prospector riding for home before the cold weather sets in, remembering all that lies waiting for him in the town he's called his winter home for countless years.

Got this VHS from the same place I got my first bootleg of Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot, back around 2000 or so. Finally just half-sat through it while working. There's better copies out there, but I wanted to see if anyone had any more info on the company, Magnum, that apparently put out this copy, as there are animated commercials running along the bottom of the screen for the entire runtime of the film. On top of that, there are random, poorly cut in full-screen commercial breaks as well. Did they give these tapes away for free since you are constantly bombarded with advertisements for children's boutiques and air fresheners?
They also sold 7 x 5 inch "History of the Sasquatch" cards, complete with an unauthorized authentic reproduction of Patty's famous frame 352 on the front, and I guess what the movie directors thought represented a fairly complete picture of the Bigfoot mystery to date, on the flip side for a quarter. I wonder if who owns that PO Box in Oregon now...
SIDE ONE
Band 1. High in the Mountains (0:17)
Band 2. Bigfoot Theme (3:10)
SIDE TWO
Band 1. Cougar Attack (7:22)
Band 2. The Pack Train (10:46)
Band 3. Barney's Theme (12:54)
(from the back of the record sleeve...)
A great addition to both the beauty and suspense of SASQUATCH, is the music. The original sound track score was composed especially for this film by Al Capps. "High in the Mountains" by Al Capps and Lane Caudell, opens side one with the mystery of this great legendary creature. The suspense and terror generated by the presence of the SASQUATCH creature itself is captured through both the exciting "Bigfoot Theme" and its spine-tingling cry direct from the sound track.
Side two opens with the thrill of wilderness danger as we hear the "Cougar Attack." The beauty and awe of the great primitive lands known as "Bigfoot Country" is experienced in the beautiful and melodic theme "The Packtrain". The light-hearted humor of the beloved cook, Barney, is captured in the theme by that same name. All the thrill, humor, excitement and suspense of the great motion picture, SASQUATCH, is brought to you direct on this sound track recording.
SASQUATCH is the original story of Bigfoot. It is a story that took over seven years of actual research before it became possible to produce into a motion picture. This movie reveals for the first time the complete story of the legendary Bigfoot, and captures on film man's greatest attempt to unravel the mysteries that surround the Sasquatch phenomenon.
This film depicts in a dramatic manner true characters who have through modern history encountered this awesome creature.

(from the History of the Sasquatch...)
Throughout the vast unexplored regions of the Pacific Northwest and Canada, there exists a living-breathing reminder of the Prehistoric Past.
From the beginning of time, Indian legends have told of giant, hair-covered, human-like creatures roaming these vast mountainous areas of North America. These elusive creatures have also been given several names, such as: Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Omah and Giant Hairy Ape. Such names were given to describe the creature in this photograph.
1800
Two mountain hunters attacked by a creature that walked on two legs. One of them escaped to tell the story.
1924
Kelco, Washington Miners attacked by "Hairy Giant Creatures" at Ape Canyon.
1941
Ruby Creek, B.C. Sasquatch seen by Indian Woman. Many tracks were found and recorded.
1967
On October 20th, an investigator by the name of Roger Patterson took the first film footage ever taken of the legendary creature known as Bigfoot. The film focused international attention on the subject and with it new expeditions were sent out to search for this elusive creature. This photograph is an authentic reproduction from the negative of that now historical film footage.

This was recorded from a promo 45 I snagged off eBay. From the swampsploitation movie "Swamp Girl" (1971). Music/lyrics by John Owen. Enjoy!

Here is the party scene from Shriek of the Mutilated with the original music, before it was replaced with some generic royalty-free disco for DVD release. Also included is a line that is cut from the scene. From my Lightning Video VHS, released in 1985. Please try to enjoy this as much as my kids do, when I play the song for them at max volume, when they won't wake up for school.
Years later, I learned that he had a house not too far from me, and that he actually grew up near there too. While working at Insalaco's Supermarket in the late 90's, I heard stories of how he would occasionally pop into the Hazelton store to pick up a large bag of dog food. Then in 2006, they held an estate auction at his farm in Hazleton and I attended. It was my first auction experience and I was unprepared for what I saw. There were so many people there, and so crowded, that I never even got into the house to look around. They did have a smattering of items outside and all I can remember is a chair made entirely out of animal horns and furs. (I would LOVE to see a copy of the auction listing they handed out at this, as I never got my hands on one.) Jack died shortly after the auction was held.
Flash forward to 2018, and I'm introduced to one of his older films, "Craze". If you're a fan or his work, and groovy 1970s horror, be sure to check this one out. Jack at his absolute nuttiest... spinning around in circles while holding an ax in his outstretched hands, yelling at the top of his lungs at the cops kinda nutty. Yeah. Because of this movie, I curse my younger self for not being ready for that auction. I'm just sure that there were some props from this and many of his many other movies up for auction that day. Maybe even Chuku himself. (Chuku, if you're still out there, please reach out to me, as I'd love to meet up!)
Well, all that said, he's my tribute to my favorite Pennsylvania coal miner turned boxer turned actor... or... how I spent a good portion of the 2020 Pandemic. Believe it... or not!
That's Jim McCullough of "Creature from Black Lake" fame taking on the role of Writer, Producer, and Director of this piece. And he sure wants you to know about it, so he pads over 3 uninterrupted minutes of his "cult classic" into the middle of one of the locals' stories. (I'm... I'm Pahoo)
Focusing on Smokey Crabtree and the Fouke Monster, this is another entertaining piece of Bigfoot History. Lots of stories from Fouke locals; Smokey takes a family (includin' some womenfolk) into the bottoms to look for the mon-a-ster; and lastly the skeleton of the Fouke Monster *cough*tiger*cough* that poor Smokey was duped into purchasing many years ago.

Original Description:
Blink and you miss it, but a whole FOUR SECONDS of the ultimate bigfoot movie rarity was featured in an episode of "Is It Real?" on the National Geographic Channel, back in 2006. The episode is titled "Ape-Man", and it currently streams on Amazon Prime.
Here are those 4 seconds, looped a couple times, and then shown with a bit more context, followed by the one screen of credits I have, listing where the show got it's Stock Footage from... guessing a copy of the movie exists at one of those places? UCLA Film and Television Archive maybe? Personally, I think they have the one remaining copy of the film locked up in a sub-basement of the Pentagon, right next to the Erlenmeyer Flask. Scully!!!
First up, a couple of pieces on the Sasquatch...
Thomas Fisher, tells his Sasquatch story from Yakobi Cove, AK
Dr. Robert Alley goes on hiking expedition with Al Jackson (Yingit elder), who tells stories and shows upside down cedar trees
Woody Anderson, native Alaskan, tells of when he saw a sasquatch on Prince of Wales Island
Next they bring in Maggie Pazian, Lie detection expert in micro-expression analysis to see if any of the witnesses were lying.
Matt Bille, Cryptozoologist, talks about the Lake Iliamna Lake Monster. Then Tinny Hedlund and John Beckler attempt to catch it from their boat.
Brent Mitchel, AK's top UFO detective, talks about the Flight JAL1628 UFO sighting. John Callahan, FAA Investigator in charge at the time of the flight also chimes in.
William Smith tells the story of his UFO sighting on the way home from work in 2009.
Maggie Pazian comes back to close out the show with more of her lie detecting skills.
Some interesting eyewitness accounts of Sasquatch, the search for the Lake Iliamna Monster, and the Japan Air Lines flight 1628 UFO sighting are featured in this 2009 documentary from the Discovery Channel.

That's our favorite, Dr. Henner Fahrenbach, talking about Bigfoot... or was he talking about this... the show that answers the question: What if MTv made a reality show about people out looking for Bigfoot? Thank you Doc, for this gem. In return, I've transcribed what I believe to be the lyrics to Orville's heartwarming country ballad he sings to our heroes, Rives and Pahoo (PAH! hoo??)
She's five foot seven
and built like heaven
and I pick her up every Friday night at seven.
Then we eat a little pizza
and then we go-a show.
She's my woman.
Dontcha know.
(W00!)
She's my gal...
With Springtime comin'
and the flowers bloomin'
and the birds and the bees
and the three quarter moon.
Friday night can't come too soon.
(EDIBIDI Saturday Moon?!?!)
Every Saturday we meet for lunch.
Kiss a little and we dittle(?) a bunch.
And sminking(?) at a lovin' time.
That little girl makes me feel as fine as wine....
