076 Ruko Euro 5 Pin SPPd & Gutted crispey bear 2016-03-13 | Further to my vids on Assa pins i thought i'd pick this new Euro Thumbturn on cam as it does have new style Assa pins and it would be remiss of me not to mention Ruko at all. it's not a hard pick (and i have picked it off cam) if you follow the binding pins which you can feel as they give the most resistance when you try and lift them, then once you're done with the binders and you get a little turn on the core follow the feedback and you will get there. they're fun locks Ruko's and even though mostly 5 pinners you'll find they have crazy bitting and can keep you occupied for a good while ;D cheers

070 Re working & Re using Bent PETERSON Picks not a picking vid crispey bear 2016-02-29 | not a picking video! so i had 5 quite bent Peterson picks, in fact they were useless so rather than throw them away i thought i'd see if extreme heat would bring them back to life....and it did! well all apart from the spring steel grey handle pick, the metal became too brittle and snapped. the rest though, the blue, black and purple handled ones are nearly as good as new. so if you punish your picks like i do, then give them a new lease of life after watching the vid. i hope someone finds this useful, i thought i'd share it as picks can be pricey and this seems to be a great stop gap if like me you need to save up for new ones...cheers!i must say, please do this at your own risk, i will not be held responsible for anything anyone else does :)

067 Assa Euro 5 Pin SPPd & Gutted Part 1 of working out new style assa pins crispey bear 2016-02-25 | after a few discussions about Assa pins and 2 or 3 requests to dig a little deeper and try and explain the process i use when dealing with Assa pins i thought i’d make a couple of videos about tackling them. this is part 1, i will do parts 2 and 3 down the line. this video covers the euro pins, i say that as all Assa’s seem to pick differently, some you need hard tension, some not so, so it really depends on a few things before you can make your decision to tackle them. in the euro you can lay on the tension and gently run your pick through the lock and it will give you an instant idea of what the key is like, this doesn’t work on all of them but def worth trying as it’s a helping hand from the start and from there, gently feel around the pins, not pushing, just brushing and before you know it you have collected 4 tiny clicks and 4 set pins. then it’s a case of not oversetting and finding the final pin to crack the lock (in this example but as mentioned they seem to pick differently). now, this method only works on some Assa’s which is why there will be a couple of other vids on other methods and by then i hope that this will of helped a couple of mates to understand what i think and do whilst attacking and hopefully overcoming Assa pins. one final thought with Assa’s, take your time and get on the keypins correctly, it makes a huge difference….thanks!

064 American SPPd and Guard Padlock SPPd & Gutted Out Of The Box Thanks to Ken DAngelo crispey bear 2016-02-12 | so, today i got a great package from Ken Angelo in the US, consisting of an American and a Guard Padlock. I really appreciate these locks buddy, gonna have plenty of fun with them! firstly i pick the American out of the box and quickly realise that i can’t gut it as it has a rivet instead of a retaining screw, so i turned my attention to the Guard, which gave me pause for a minute but i got it in the end and then was able to gut this one on camera. so a double pick out of the box and the gutting of the Guard Padlock. 063 American Padlock With 6 Pin Medeco Core 1 Yr Anniversary Lock crispey bear 2016-02-10 | ok, so i bought this Vintage American Padlock, Series 3700 with a 6 Pin Medeco 51s Biaxial Core as it was a year ago today i started picking. I start off with a little indulgence and pick the first 3 padlocks i ever bought and did videos on, the first was the Abus 90/50 that i got on video on the 17th February 2015, next the Kasp 18060, then the Abus 83cs/55. So while explaining the beginnings of my journey i pick them to fill some time, then move on to the American Padlock which i open with a pressie my little sister bought me for christmas but i’ll say no more on that for now, check the vid out!!thanks for watching!! special cheers to you guys, i appreciate your friendships, thank you chaps ;)
062 UAP 6 Pin Euro Cyl SPPd & Gutted crispey bear 2016-02-07 | so i’ve got another UAP 6 pin double euro which i’m going to pick and gut. one of the main reasons for doing this video was curiosity, neither Pick Beard or I was sure what was inside this UAP model. UAP can be quite creative in trying to keep us out of their locks and have several anti pick methods in place. although this one doesn’t have the floating trap core and anti pick bar it does have a few tricks up it’s sleeve. i hope you enjoy this vid and if it helps anyone wondering what’s inside them then all good! thanks for watching ;)
061 ASSA:RUKO 2 Padlock SPPd & Gutted thanks to Steensy for this incredible gift crispey bear 2016-02-07 | this amazingly beautiful padlock was sent to me as a surprise by Steensy, thank you so much matey, i'm blown away and massively surprised!!! i will treasure this, my first assa ruko padlock. i ordered some original assa pins for another project but i'll have enough to fill this baby too, so i can tastefully pimp it and make it a little trickier in the process. cheers again Steensy bud, i'm very grateful for this great padlock ;D thanks to everyone for checking the vid out!

059 Sargent 6 Pin Mortice Lock SPPd & Gutted thanks for Texas Jim crispey bear 2016-02-01 | ok, so i hit my first real speed bump with Texas Jim’s box of locks that he sent me and it was in the shape of this Sargent 6 Pin Mortice Lock. I a few unsuccessful attempts, for various reasons to get this on camera, so i downed tools in protest and decided to check my messages and emails and to my surprise there was an upload from Redeye opening a…..you guessed it a 6 Pin Sargent, and from Texas Jim, and it was exactly the same as the one giving me some issues. so, i got a drink, sat back and pressed play and paid serious attention to what Redeye was doing. after the vid ended i disregarded my other messages and tried my Sargent off cam and to my joy got it open first time. rushing quickly to reproduce this feat on camera, i set everything up, picking away, chatting to the cam and my wrench falls out, then again next go, then i failed to do it on the next attempt, then the wrench again, so i had accrued several rather funny outtakes of my tantrums at the end. i’m not going to upload them because they are about as rude as you can get and i’m usually such a polite person, this would shatter any illusion you have of me. i’d just like to thank Redeye for the assist, appreciate it bud and Jim for the great challenge that was this Sargent. i hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
058 Schlage LFIC 6 Pin SPPd & Gutted thanks to Texas Jim crispey bear 2016-01-31 | ok, so today i'm going to open Texas Jim's Schlage LFIC. this is a beautiful lock which Jim sent to me with an operating and control key. this is another of the locks Jim that is now in my collection, i've wanted one of these for months, so i'm very grateful to Jim for another fantastic lock...and hope you enjoy!
