Just about everyone is familiar with the story of the woman caught in adultery, written in John’s gospel. It’s a beautiful depiction of how Jesus demonstrated mercy to a sinful woman despite an angry mob of people throwing accusations at her. For many, this is a story of how Jesus meets all of us - fully aware of how sinful we are to the core, and yet compassionately saying "I do not condemn you." ultimately reestablishing righteousness on the foundation of grace. But there's more to the story and it is rooted in a prophecy from Jeremiah 17:13.
