DaggtexThis cop-out sissybar (the original concept of which I believe is Fennoman's) is based off of MrUberDuck's design and was made in 1.7. It uses the weirdest compacting method I've seen in a long time. Maybe it will be useful to you...? Also, it CAN be made in survival; you just need to push the piston into the villager with another piston.
Compacted Cop-Out Sissybar [unorthodox method]Daggtex2013-11-19 | This cop-out sissybar (the original concept of which I believe is Fennoman's) is based off of MrUberDuck's design and was made in 1.7. It uses the weirdest compacting method I've seen in a long time. Maybe it will be useful to you...? Also, it CAN be made in survival; you just need to push the piston into the villager with another piston.BUD Activated 3x3 DoorDaggtex2013-12-11 | Update: MrBillyBobCornDog has perfected the design. Loom him up. DO IT.
Update: There may be some locational glitches with the double piston extender. I did, however, find a fix keeping the same volume. I may upload if it is not compacted soon.
This door, made in 1.7, is bud activated on both closing and opening. It is pretty darn fast, not bad looking at all, and may also be the smallest such door at 220 blocks volume. If you would like to try to compact it, there are only 3 qualifications to keep in mind: 1) seamless 2) 3x3 door 3) bud activation on open and close Have fun!Compacted Vertical CopOut Sissybar [horizontal?]Daggtex2013-11-21 | This design, made in 1.7, is a compacted version of Fennoman's latest sissybar. Is my audio not a toothbrush this time? XDBest Adjustable Pulse Lengthener [silent, tileable, and SMALLEST]Daggtex2013-11-11 | This design, made in 1.7, is the smallest at 15 blocks volume. And it is tileable. And it is silent. And I got over 100 subs recently, so... wow. I'm glad to have touched so many people in our global community :)Smallest 1 Above Ground TorchkeyDaggtex2013-10-07 | Mrbillybobcorndog, I beat you :) I hope you're not mad! This design was made in 1.6 and only the blocks below the floor were counted in its 3x3x2 dimensions. This is also the smallest such design out there.Smallest Flush Torchkeys [floor & wall]Daggtex2013-10-07 | Update: There is a smaller wall one out there at 2x3x4. I don't know who made it though.
So Lauchyman, youtube lauchlanman, challenged me to make a flush floor torchkey smaller than his, and I succeeded at 27 blocks volume! I also made the smallest wall one when derping around at 30 blocks volume :D (Both measurements include ALL pieces of the design including floor and wall) These were made in 1.6 on the red-blocks.com server. ALSO a BIG thank you to MisterTem for my new profile pic! It is AWESOME!!!Smallest Signal Strength Counter [outdated]Daggtex2013-10-04 | Update: Check out DicoTheRedstoner for the new smallest. He beat me :)
Update: If you want to make it smaller (2x2x8) but impractical for automating input, you can replace the end 3 rows on either side with a button under the full dropper attached to a block with a torch going into another block with a torch redstone dusting into the second dropper. (if that's confusing, I could just post a really short vid with updates)
This design, made in 1.6, uses Dico's signal strength rs nor latch and is only 40 blocks volume. I made it on the Red-Blocks.com server, so it does work in Bukkit. And also, look up DicoTheRedstoner (he's the one who came to the scene with the signal strength rs nor).4 Super Small Ocular DoorsDaggtex2013-08-13 | These doors, made in 1.6, are what I believe to be the most compact/smallest possible/ever. Maybe they could even be base designs for a new smallest 3x3...?3-High Expandable Wall-DoorDaggtex2013-07-20 | This design, made in 1.6, is quite fast and reasonably small and sleek, allowing to to fit quite well in any walls of your base. Enjoy.3x3 Multi-State DoorDaggtex2013-07-15 | This design, made in 1.6, is the next size up in multi-state doors. Please note that it is still seamless and you can hit the buttons in any order and it will still work :)2x2 Multi-State DoorDaggtex2013-07-15 | This rather unused door type, made in 1.6, can switch between more than the normal open and closed states! This one's extra state is "window".Tileable T Flip Flop (with a few little twists)Daggtex2013-07-07 | This design, made in 1.5.2 and shown working in 1.6, is not only 1 wide tileable and silent, but also it only uses the core redstone components (dust, torches, and repeaters) AND is easily convertable into t flip flop / pulser combo without adding a single extra block! And if you were wondering, my vacation was fun :DHidden Crafting Table Flush With Floor [conditional double piston extender block swapper]Daggtex2013-06-23 | Update: You can actually remove the side farthest from the double extender, knocking it volume down, by using a dropper t flip flop to replace the piston one.
This design, made in 1.5.2, is one of the smallest designs out there for a cdpebs. It also has the added flexibility of being able to accept a block swapper on the side for added swapability! (I also tried to keep it more resource light, so you will notice that redstone blocks are typically omitted in favor of torches, but there is no reason why you couldn't switch back to the blocks if you wanted to.)Smallest Instant Repeater & Smallest with Minimum Cooldown [2 ticks]Daggtex2013-06-20 | The second design shown in this video, made in 1.5.2, is the smallest instant repeater (27 block volume) that has the theoretical minimum cooldown time between state changes. Keep in mind that spamming 2 tick pulses for longer periods of time into this design will burn out its torch, causing it to skip a pulse before working again. Also, it is my design, if that wasn't clear.
Also shown is the smallest instant repeater, but that is not my design :P A lot of people seem to have come across it at once, so I'm not sure who should get credit.
Now, as for why 2 ticks. Instant things require pistons, and pistons require 1.5 ticks to fully work, so 2. 1.5 tick pulses are uncommon and hard to make, in addition to likely being impossible to make instant things with due to piston spazziness and the other components required.Hiding Chests with Redstone in SMP [cheap, easy, and reliable!]Daggtex2013-06-16 | Here I show a simple and cheap way of keeping your chests hidden from thieves in survival multiplayer. It doesn't even use glitchy chest minecarts! A shout out to Al Ucar for asking me.Hidden Pop-Up Crafting Table [conditional block swapper]Daggtex2013-06-13 | This design, made in 1.5.2, is a nifty little way of hiding your crafting table or perhaps glowstone lighting in the corner using my recent block swapper design. EnjoyTiny Block Swapper and Bit SwitcherDaggtex2013-06-12 | This 12 block volume design, made in 1.5.2, is not only usable as a tiny corner block swapper, but it also can be adapted into a cool block switcher for piston tapes, or an interesting t flip flop, or whatever else you have in mind for it :) Note: You can similarly use the vertical corner block swappers out there to make a bit switcher that can act on horizontal piston tapes.1 High Trapdoor and Ocular DoorDaggtex2013-06-11 | Here I have a 1 high design for a 2x2 trapdoor and 3x3 ocular door, each made in 1.5.2. Just thought I'd get something interesting together for you guys :PWORKING Tileable 4x3 with Lme2002Daggtex2013-06-01 | We got it fixed, and kept the same dimensions! Hopefully that 4x4 will be along soon! Lme's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lme2002ALMOST Tileable 4x3 Door with Lme2002Daggtex2013-06-01 | Update: I do have an actually tileable version on my channel, again with Lme. We fixed the problem without increasing its size!
Update: I just realized that the change to my double piston extender made by Lme makes it no longer tileable :( Not having much luck recently with tileable things... oh well, back to the drawing board! Its still a nice 4x3 door though.
Lme and I did a collaborative effort to build a new 4x3 tileable piston door, and this one is VERY compact. We also have a little discussion on the door mechanics for those of you interested. Hopefully, together, we can finally get that 4x4! Lme is going to put up his own video on this door very soon. Lme's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lme2002Tileable 1x2 Hipster DoorDaggtex2013-05-31 | In this video I come to you from the red-blocks.com server and show you my hipster door design made in 1.5.2. Also see are my servermates swagproductions, lme2002 (who has his own redstone channel, check him out: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lme2002 ) and gundershot (another great redstoner http://www.youtube.com/user/BloodStainedCards )ALMOST Tileable 4x4 Seamless Piston DoorDaggtex2013-05-29 | UPDATE: Unfortunately, I was wrong. This is not actually fully tileable. It can tileably close, but not open as the redstone block of the adjacent door would keep its storage piston budded. Thank you Dico for pointing out its flaw, and I will keep working! still cool as a 1 wide 4x4 door though.
Many said it was impossible, but this here is the first ever tileable 4x4 seamless piston door in minecraft, made in 1.5.2. Feel free to compact it! This design here is 88x34x1 by my count.Tileable 4x3 Piston DoorDaggtex2013-05-28 | I am pretty sure this is the largest tileable piston door on Youtube :D It was made in 1.5.2.Auto Sorter/Smelter/Storer TutorialDaggtex2013-05-22 | This tutorial is on an improved version of my auto sorter/smelter/storer. It is pretty small for what it does, but be aware that it is still an expensive endgame luxury. That being said, it wouldn't be hard to reformat it to fit any resource budget or feature :P Also note that you will need to prime the furnaces and hoppers leading into them with a piece of coal each; I missed going over that. This was done on a request from Petro Loychuk, so hopefully, this is what you were looking for Petro! ALSO I apologize for the bad quality; I have no idea how that happened...Compact 2x2 Flush Trapdoor [no visible redstone & in sync]Daggtex2013-05-20 | This design, built in 1.5.2, not only looks nice for being in sync and redstone seamless, it is also the smallest design for a 2x2 flush trapdoor that I have ever seen! The size count of 96 does not count the floor, only the circuitry.Tileable 3x3 Piston Door [V4]Daggtex2013-05-20 | This time, at 156 blocks, this is surely a world record size for a 3x3 tileable in 1.5. Please let me know if you know differently! Also, it appears that it cannot be broken by lever spamming. Just turn it on and off a few times more and its fixed :)Even Better Tileable 3x3 Seamless Piston Door [V3]Daggtex2013-05-19 | UPDATE: I just keep managing to compact this thing. Check my channel to find the latest version! This design, made in 1.5.2, is quite possibly the smallest tileable 3x3 in 1.5 at 168 blocks volume. Of course, I uploaded a slightly larger one earlier today, but after I figured out this improvement I just needed to show it :PImproved Tileable 3x3 Door [V2]Daggtex2013-05-19 | UPDATE: I have an improved version out on my channel. Enjoy :) This design, made in 1.5.2 on the red-blocks.com server, is a great improvement of my old design. I would also like to to give a shout out to jas390 who pointed out a redundancy that helped me to later compact it.Toggle Triple Piston Extender Flush with CeilingDaggtex2013-05-17 | This triple piston extender, made in 1.5.1 and shown working in 1.5.2, is not only flush with the ceiling (most triple extenders are not flush), it is also a toggle extender.Tileable Hipster Stairs/Popup Stairs/Stair ExtenderDaggtex2013-05-16 | This design, made on a server in 1.5.2, is a tileable set of hipster stairs, so you can make hidden stair doors as wide as you want! It can be adapted into a tileable flush double extender touching only one side of its pistons. This video also features the server I am starting to use, red-blocks.com, and my new friend swagproductions! Another shout out to MisterTem who disappeared when we were trying to work together today!Auto Smelting/Sorting/Storing UnitDaggtex2013-05-13 | Tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MS5LnZUkik
UPDATE: I solved the issue of the chestcart not dropping everything off. Have it pass over a detector rail and use a comparator to check for contents, then have it power the first powered rail long enough for the chestcart to get there and take off again. No more lever needed, and the size can actually stay the same :D Here I show how you could make a chest to dump your inventory in that will sort, smelt, and store all the important stuff for you. It's very useful and very compact for what it does.
My video on the sorting module is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TRhoGUQI94 Texture pack: http://www.ocddisco.com/2011/08/minecraft-ocd-texture-pack-1-6-readyImproved Ceiling Block SwapperDaggtex2013-05-11 | After uploading my video on block swappers fro 1.5 where I showed off my record design, I realized a way to improve it. Here it is in all its glory! Also, I would like to note that is a pretty simple design, so it is entirely possible that someone else has made it before. I've just done a lot of searching and not found it, so I'm assuming it is new.How Do I 3x3 Door? [instructional]Daggtex2013-05-11 | In this episode I show the different piece that go into making a 3x3 door so that you guys can experiment and try and make your own designs!Smallest Block Swappers!Daggtex2013-05-11 | UPDATE #2: It appears MinecraftChrizz has a smaller floor swapper now; look him up!
UPDATE: I've actually improved my ceiling block swapper; look for it on my channel :)
Here I show off the smallest designs out there for swapping blocks in the floor, wall, and ceiling (that still work in 1.5). The floor is not my own design, but the ceiling and the wall are. Also please note that other people are tied with my wall design, and CodeCrafted (who you should look up if you love redstone) made a smaller one previously that now no longer works.Toggle Wall BudsDaggtex2013-05-07 | These 2 toggle buds made in 1.5.2 are my smallest designs for the wall. Enjoy.Smallest Flush Double Piston Extenders [non-spazzy]Daggtex2013-05-07 | UPDATE #2: Puzzle1cisuM90 made an even smaller sideways flush toggle extender at 20 blocks volume, which can be found on his channel within the tutorial of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIRtLXlotiM Enjoy :)
UPDATE: There is actually a horizontal piston extender of the same size out there that can have a side input, and the upward one is actually by gundershot.
Here I show the two smallest non-spazzy vertical flush double piston extenders in minecraft as of 1.5.2 by BloodStainedCards and TT Lemon, and I also introduce my own contender for the sideways version.Compact 2x2 Trapdoor (Flush)Daggtex2013-04-29 | This flush trapdoor, built in 1.5.1, has a circuitry volume of only 64 blocks, which as far as I can tell is another world record :) Also, in my tests, although it seems like you could speed it up a tick by lowering each of the repeaters by a tick in the blue circuit, that actually messes it up. The timings in the video work best for this design.Even Better Downward Flush Double Piston ExtenderDaggtex2013-04-28 | Here I defend my world record smallest flush downward double piston extender title from TT Lemon ( http://www.youtube.com/user/MrTTLemon ) with an adjustment to my design. This works in 1.5.1.Very Small 2-Way RepeaterDaggtex2013-04-26 | This 2-way repeater, made in 1.5.1, has dimensions of 5x2x2 and a volume of only 20 blocks (8 of which are unused air blocks). 20 blocks is the smallest volume that I have seen in my searches, so this could well be a record (DvirWi has a different 20 block design, so you should look him up too)! (Please note that it cannot transmit 1-tick pulses.)How Do I Piston? [instructional]Daggtex2013-04-25 | In episode 4 of How Do I?, I explain how minecraft pistons work. If you want to see more complex piston designs (such as the smallest flush double piston extenders in minecraft as of the recording date) you should look on my channel :)Secret Fountain EntranceDaggtex2013-04-25 | This is just a cool little thing I threw together because I think fountains look nice and make great secret entrances. It was built in 1.5.1.How Do I Repeater? [instuctional]Daggtex2013-04-25 | In episode 3 of How Do I? I explain redstone repeaters. How Do I Redstone Torch? [instructional]Daggtex2013-04-24 | This is episode 2 of How Do I? This time I explain how redstone torches work. (I also notice a weird glitch with item frames...)How Do I Redstone? [instructional]Daggtex2013-04-24 | This is episode 1 of a new series where I explain the various components of redstoning. This specific video's subject is redstone itself, also known as redstone dust.Secret Stair Entrance [Adapted from Double Stair Extender]Daggtex2013-04-23 | This is an adapted use of my double stair extender design. The original video (where you can view the circuitry a little better) is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97zAtFhFCys
Also, no offense meant to MumboJumbo; I've been a long time subscriber to him, and today I saw his video with the stair entrance (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSZUUwExWr8 ), and then I thought, "Hey, I already have a version of that out there, and my version seems a little better! I'd better show that it can be used for this because when Mumbo makes a video on something, it always takes off."Downward Flush Double Piston Extender ImprovedDaggtex2013-04-22 | UPDATE: There is an even more improved version out now on my channel.
This downward double piston extender, made in 1.5.1, is an improvement on my old design because the old design was unreliable at 15 blocks volume or reliable at 20. This one is reliable and is only 15 blocks volume, so, obviously, an upgrade. Also useful is the fact that it only covers one side of the pistons. Still the smallest in minecraft as of its upload date :)Improved 3x3 Seamless Piston DoorDaggtex2013-04-21 | This 3x3 piston door, made in 1.5.1, is more compact than my previous design by a few blocks, as well as requiring 1 less sticky piston. It is 1 block wide, and also can fit a repair button within its volume for those times when you're building and you accidentally cause the piston to bud. In fact, you can access that button while standing in the door frame and after breaking only one block, so it is extremely easy to access for repair. The volumes by input are: lever [9x13x1, 117 blocks] and button [9x14x1, 124 blocks].Tileable 3x3 Seamless Piston Door in 1.5 [V1]Daggtex2013-04-21 | UPDATE: I've greatly improved upon this design. Look on my channel for the latest version! This door, built in 1.5.1 may be rather large (19x17x1, or 323 blocks), but it is the first I've seen of its kind since updating to 1.5. The new piston bud mechanics in 1.5 made pistons in adjacent doors constantly activate when they shouldn't, ruining the old tileable doors' tileability. This door manages to get around that, working no matter if adjacent doors are closed or open, and each input can be done individually since it is located on the side.
I challenge viewers to make a more compact version! (This one was just proof of concept, not compacted at all :P)1-Wide Tileable Sorting SystemDaggtex2013-04-20 | NOTE: If you dislike using the minecart, this works just as well using a hopper line running through the middle instead of track.
This sorting system, made in 1.5.1, is 1-wide and tileable (as obvious from title). It tiles by alternating its directions, so each 4x5x1 piece staggers and ends up filling a nicely compact 5x5 tube. Coincidentally, this is the smallest sorting system I have seen :PFlush Floor Stair ExtenderDaggtex2013-04-19 | This is a 2-wide stair system that can extend 2 blocks up from the floor, allowing a player to reach a 3 block high platform. It is flush, built in 1.5.1, and fits in a 6x4x4 or 96 block volume (including floor blocks). Also, being symmetrical, the animation is nice and even and it is easier to build and remember. This can also be used to make a hidden stair entrance, as I show in another video on my channel.
