Wondered if I could make something like the footage of the Feb 15, 2013 meteor that exploded over Russia. Trapcode Particular, Knoll Lighting. Needed to use the original Tracker instead of 3D Camera Tracker because the 3DCT considered the sky a 2D plane without 3D points. Driving footage is a clip from 2009.Danger in the Grand Canyonfriendofvic2011-11-18 | Some humor, or maybe not. Really, no trails were within range.Fantasyland Expansion: Jun-Sep 2011friendofvic2011-09-18 | Here's the progress on the Walt Disney World expansion of Fantasyland, as seen between June 16 and September 16, 2011. Probably the most interesting thing to see is what could be placement of beams for a retaining wall for the underground portion of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster.
Things that happened in this time period also were the skinning of rock work in the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast sections. LM's rockwork also got color in the upper half.
Video also contains some interesting views of the sites as seen Sept 16 from the current location of Dumbo.Grid pavilion at Shanghai World Expo 2010friendofvic2011-08-30 | Imagine being in the center of a 4x4 cube of video screens. That's what this pavilion was like! Screens beneath your feet, overhead, and all sides. 96 screens in all!

Guests stood on a slowly moving sidewalk as it moved through incredibly large video projections on all sides. It was probably 10 minutes around the half circle. A 2h20 wait! But well worth it, it was very unique.
Shot in May 2010, edited in August 2011, long after the expo closed and has been demolished.2010 Shanghai World Expo - loose bits of video edited in 2011friendofvic2011-08-29 | My last remaining bits of video from the first week of the expo, in May 2010. Mostly exterior shots. Some of the pavilions were not yet open that week.
The expo closed in fall 2010. It was fun to edit this in August 2011 and remember how exciting the expo was.
For example, the expo was an opportunity to "visit" countries that are difficult, dangerous, or restricted to see in person. Notably, Libya, Iran, and North Korea.
See other video in my account (search in the list for expo) for video of several of the major pavilions.Grand Floridian expansion site, last look before developmentfriendofvic2011-08-29 | A last look at the Grand Floridian expansion site before an additional building is built on vacant land between the resort pool and the wedding pavilion. Imagine each of the US States with a showy exhibit in a mall-type atmosphere, and that's what this pavilion was like. One of the oddest things is the performance exhibit where you watch acrobatics just inches from the performers, separated by floor to near ceiling glass. The intent may be to make you feel as if you are on stage with the actors.Sample of corporate pavilions of the Shanghai Expofriendofvic2010-08-11 | The Expo is 2-square miles, and the Puxi side of the river is host of most of the corporate pavilions. About 1/3 of the available tickets are also reserved/distributed to official tour groups.Theme pavilions at the Shanghai World Expofriendofvic2010-07-27 | An easy way to take a break from the heat of summer at the Shanghai World Expo is to duck into the urban theme pavilions.
