Master Meters Workshop Intro Arizona Corporation Commission 2018-01-17 | Master meters serve as a mechanism to distribute natural gas into two or more buildings. In Arizona, this type of gas distribution system is commonly used in apartment buildings, mobile home parks, hotels, schools, and office buildings. As these systems continue to age and leaks expose their failures, these systems are causing full site shutdowns, forcing the property to shut off hot water and gas for weeks at a time, instead of being able to simply isolate the problem and minimize the residential burden. The Arizona Corporation Commission is incentivizing these property owners to move to a more dynamic system, one that involves multiple meters, one that provides a safer and more efficient gas pipeline system throughout their complex. This video provides an example of a property’s relief upon finishing the transition between systems.
