"Let It Go" is a song from Disney's 2013 animated feature film, Frozen, with music and lyrics composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The song was performed in the film by American actress and singer Idina Menzel in her role as Queen Elsa, after an ostracized Elsa abandons her kingdom when her magical ability to create and control ice is discovered by the public. Up in the mountains, away from confused and suspicious onlookers, she realizes that she no longer needs to hide her abilities, and declares herself free from the restrictions she's had to endure since childhood. She rejoices in finally being able to use her powers without fear, manipulating snow and ice to generate a magnificent castle for herself. "Let It Go" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 86th Academy Awards, where the song was performed live by Menzel. "Let It Go" is the first song from a Disney animated musical to reach the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 since 1995, when Vanessa L. Williams' "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas peaked at number four on the chart.
LYRICS Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, Let it go Turn my back and slam the door
The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation, and it looks like I'm the queen The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in Heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always had to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well now they know
Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn my back and slam the door And here I stand And here I'll stay Let it go, let it go The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all Up here in the cold thin air I finally can breathe I know I left a life behind but I'm too relieved to grieve
Let it go, Let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, Let it go, Turn my back and slam the door And here I stand And here I'll stay Let it go, let it go The cold never bothered me anyway
Standing - frozen in the life I've chosen You won't find me, the past is so behind me Buried in the snow
Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go, Turn my back and slam the door And here I stand And here I'll stay Let it go, let it go The cold never bothered me anyway... (let the music go on) let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go

"Cannonball" is the debut single by American singer-songwriter and actress Lea Michele, taken from her debut album Louder (2014). The song was released onto iTunes in the United States on December 10, 2013 and made its radio debut on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on December 16, 2013. The song was written by songwriter Sia Furler along with producers Benny Blanco and Stargate, both of whom produced the track. Michele told MTV that "Cannonball" is a song that helped her cope in the aftermath of her ex-boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith's death in the summer of 2013. Initially, Michele didn't plan on having the song be a part of the album, which she'd finished recording in June; but after Monteith died aged 31 in July, Michele put her album on hold and took a moment to think if there was anything else she needed to get off her chest. Working with songwriters Sia Furler and Benny Blanco, who co-wrote "Cannonball," she recorded the track and the single became a mantra of survival.
LYRICS Break down Break down
Break down I was scared to death I was losing my mind Break down I couldn't close my eyes I was pacing all night, oh, no, I think I found the light at the end of the tunnel (and my doubts) I couldn't find the truth I was going under
But I won't hide inside I gotta get out, gotta get out, gotta get out, gotta get out Lonely inside and light the fuse Light it now, light it now, light it now
And now I will start living today, today, today I close the door I got this new beginning and I will fly I'll fly like a cannonball, like a cannonball, like a cannonball I'll fly, I'll fly, I'll fly like a cannonball
Freedom I let go of fear and the peace came quickly Freedom I was in the dark and then it hit me I chose suffering and pain in the falling rain I know, I gotta get out into the world again

"Dark Horse" is a song recorded by American recording artist Katy Perry featuring rapper Juicy J. It was released on September 17, 2013 by Capitol Records as the first promotional single from Perry's fourth studio album, Prism (2013), following the second single "Unconditionally". Three months later, it was released as the third official single on December 17. Both artists co-wrote the song with its producers, Max Martin, Cirkut, and Dr. Luke, alongside Sarah Hudson. The song was originally conceived by Perry and Hudson during a writing session in Perry's hometown of Santa Barbara, California, and Juicy J, another artist on Dr. Luke's label Kemosabe Records, was later commissioned for a verse on the song. "Dark Horse" combines the genres of pop and trap music, creating what has been described as a "Southern rap-techno mashup." The track features a minimal production, with Perry's vocals being sung in a "seductive" and "mature" tone, while Juicy J is featured on the song's intro and rapped-bridge. Perry, in interviews, said she wanted the song to have a "witchy, spell-y kind of black magic-y idea", so she wrote it from the perspective of a witch warning a man not to fall in love with her because if he does, she will be his last. The song was part of a competition sponsored by Pepsi in which fans could vote via Twitter on whether they would prefer either "Dark Horse" or "Walking on Air" to be released as the first promotional single from Prism.
LYRICS Oh, no.
[Juicy J:] Yeah Ya'll know what it is Katy Perry Juicy J, aha. Let's rage
[Katy Perry:] I knew you were You were gonna come to me And here you are But you better choose carefully 'Cause I, I'm capable of anything Of anything and everything
Make me your Aphrodite Make me your one and only But don't make me your enemy, your enemy, your enemy
So you wanna play with magic Boy, you should know what you're falling for Baby do you dare to do this? Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse Are you ready for, ready for A perfect storm, perfect storm Cause once you're mine, once you're mine There's no going back
Mark my words This love will make you levitate Like a bird Like a bird without a cage But down to earth If you choose to walk away, don't walk away
It's in the palm of your hand now baby It's a yes or no, no maybe So just be sure before you give it all to me All to me, give it all to me
So you wanna play with magic Boy, you should know what you're falling for Baby do you dare to do this? Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse Are you ready for, ready for A perfect storm, perfect storm Cause once you're mine, once you're mine (love trippin') There's no going back
[Juicy J - Rap Verse] Uh She's a beast I call her Karma (come back) She eats your heart out Like Jeffrey Dahmer (woo) Be careful Try not to lead her on Shorty's heart is on steroids Cause her love is so strong You may fall in love When you meet her If you get the chance you better keep her She's sweet as pie but if you break her heart She'll turn cold as a freezer That fairy tale ending with a knight in shining armor She can be my Sleeping Beauty I'm gon' put her in a coma Woo! Damn I think I love her Shorty so bad, I'm sprung and I don't care She ride me like a roller coaster Turned the bedroom into a fair (a fair!) Her love is like a drug I was tryna hit it and quit it But lil' mama so dope I messed around and got addicted
So you wanna play with magic Boy, you should know what you're falling for (you should know) Baby do you dare to do this? LYRICS Well you only need the light when it's burning low Only miss the sun when it starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only hate the road when you're missing home Only know you love her when you let her go And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass Hoping one day you'll make a dream last But dreams come slow and they go so fast You see her when you close your eyes Maybe one day you'll understand why Everything you touch surely dies
But you only need the light when it's burning low Only miss the sun when it starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only hate the road when you're missing home Only know you love her when you let her go
Staring at the ceiling in the dark Same old empty feeling in your heart 'Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast Well you see her when you fall asleep But never to touch and never to keep 'Cause you loved her too much and you dive too deep
Well you only need the light when it's burning low Only miss the sun when it starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only hate the road when you're missing home Only know you love her when you let her go And you let her go Oh oh oh no And you let her go Oh oh oh no Well you let her go
'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low Only miss the sun when it starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only hate the road when you're missing home Only know you love her when you let her go
