Building LEGO® Masters giant Bricksmas Tree! The Brickman 2021-11-28 | Merry Bricksmas everyone! For the 2021 Christmas LEGO® Masters Australia specials we built a giant LEGO brick Christmas Tree. The tree was designed as huge upscaled version ( 16 x to be precise) of a small LEGO build, with giant LEGO studs 10 x 10 real LEGO studs in diameter. At over 4m tall, and 2m wide, this model took Ryan and the team 439 hours to design and build, using over 61,794 LEGO bricks!Read more in our blog: bit.ly/30ZYiIn
Building our LEGO brick Koala Keeper for Castle Hills LEGO Certified store The Brickman 2021-11-26 | For Sydney's third LEGO® Certified store in Castle Hill we decided to make our giant LEGO® minifig a Conservationist cuddling some cute koalas! We always try to localise our models to make them represent the area of the store and with so many wildlife parks not far from Castle Hill, it gave us the perfect excuse to build some more cute Australian animals!All up, our conservationist minifig took us a 259 hours to design and build, using 739,125 LEGO® bricks!The Fagen Park mosaic, which we also built for the store, took an further 193 hours and 23,296 LEGO® bricks to build.Read more on our blog: bit.ly/3F4tpkn
Building our LEGO Brick Kangaroo Selfie Minifig for the Canberra LEGO Store The Brickman 2021-11-09 | The models we built for the Canberra LEGO Certified store were actually some of the first ones we finished in 2021, but unfortunately lockdowns meant a major delay in the store's opening. That said, I think you can agree the store was worth the wait!For this store we chose to create our minifig posing for a selfie with a giant LEGO® brick Kangaroo as well as a massive mosaic of Black Mountain at dawn complete with Hot Air Balloons.In the end our Kangaroo-Selfie minifig took us 394 hours to design and build with over 87,173 LEGO® bricks used in her construction! The Black Mountain mosaic took us a further 103 hours and 11,248 hours to build.
Jurassic World by Brickman re-opening in Melbourne! The Brickman 2021-11-03 | After a temporary extinction, we are super excited to be able to announce the re-opening of Jurassic World by Brickman from 6th November! Building our LEGO® Brick Quokka Minifig for the Perth LEGO Store The Brickman 2021-10-28 | For Perth’s first LEGO® store in Karrinyup we had the task of building both a giant LEGO minifigure as well as a mosaic for the store wall. Being the first store in WA we couldn’t go past a chance to build some of WA’s most iconic creatures- some Quokkas!Of course for Perth’s first ever LEGO store we had to do the Swan River for the mosaic as well. All up, our Quokkas and minifig took us a whopping 450 hours to design and build, using 75,667 LEGO® bricks!The Swan River mosaic took an additional 128 hours and 15,681 LEGO® bricks to build.
Building the Townsville LEGO stores giant marine biologist minifig! The Brickman 2021-10-28 | For the Townsville store, being one of the gateways to the Great Barrier Reef, we chose to make our minifig a marine biologist complete with a friendly octopus! We also built a mosaic depicting Castle Hill on the Townsville skyline. All up, the Marine Biologist minifig took us 344 hours to design and build, using 53,639 LEGO® bricks!Our Castle Hill mosaic took an additional 160 hours and 49,512 LEGO® bricks to build.
Building LEGO Masters Australia series 3 Giant LEGO Tree The Brickman 2021-05-16 | Building the enormous LEGO® brick tree from the penultimate episode of Series 3 was one of our most challenging builds ever! Designing the repeating leaf patternin the tree and then applying it to the 3D shape of tree's canopy was difficult enough, but when it came time to build it, it was even harder! To overcome having to build out from the trunk over nothing, we actually ended up building the entire top of the tree upside down! This ended up looking a lot better too as it meant when you look up under the tree you see studs, not the hollow undersides of thousands of LEGO bricks. In the end, it took us over 500 hours to design and build, using nearly 86,000 LEGO bricks!
Testing LEGO Masters Australia series 3L No Wheels Race The Brickman 2021-05-09 | The challenge team had tonnes of fun testing the no-wheels race challenge! 🏁 We started off testing it as a strictly walking- robots 🤖only challenge before deciding that the contestants would be allowed to make their own wheels and then working out what LEGO parts would make it too easy for the contestants that would should remove from the BrickPit! 😈

Building LEGO brick Cyclist for Marions LEGO Certified Store! The Brickman 2021-03-02 | We can finally reveal the models we built for the new (ish) LEGO Certified store at Westfield Marion in Adelaide! (Like the Highpoint cricketer, we built the models early last year in 2020 just before the pandemic hit, and the opening of the Marion store was also delayed thanks to the COVID pandemic.) As with all of the LEGO Certified Stores around Australia and New Zealand, we built both a giant LEGO minifig and a mosaic for the store. Ryan really wanted to pay homage to a certain LEGO Masters' co-host's love of bike riding, hence his name! Building Team NZs Americas Cup Yacht in LEGO® Bricks! The Brickman 2021-02-25 | As part of bringing Brickman AWESOME to Auckland Museum we've also built a brand new LEGO brick model just for Auckland- a version of Team New Zealand's epic AC75 super yacht that will compete in this year's America's Cup on Waitematā Harbour in Auckland!The model itself was proudly installed in the magnificent South Atrium of Auckland Museum late last week for the public to see. Building LEGO brick Cricketer Kirstine for Highpoints LEGO Certified Store! The Brickman 2021-02-09 | We are super proud to be able to finally reveal the models we built for the new (ish) LEGO Certified store at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne! We built the models early last year in 2020 just before the pandemic hit.As with all of the LEGO Certified Stores around Australia and New Zealand, we built both a giant LEGO minifig and a mosaic for the store. The Brickman 2020-05-17 | Watch us build the bike Hamish knocks over in LEGO Masters Australia's Smash and Grab challenge!When we were given the idea of the Smash and Grab challenge for Series 2 we knew it was going to be hard. It had to be impressive, but it also had to be easily push-over-able by Hamish! AND it needed to be as hollow as it could be to contain lots of extra loose LEGO® pieces for the contestants to build with. In the end it took us 135 hours and a little over 75,000 LEGO® bricks to create!

LEGOMasters S2 E2 Seg2 Heads The Brickman 2020-05-01 | For episode 2 of LEGO Masters Australia's series 2 the contestants had to pick a random LEGO® minifig to build their model around -BUT they had no faces! So we created a LEGO brick built case that Hamish could use to offer different minifig heads to the contestants to choose from. And it turns out everyone loved it!We've recreated the case in Stud.io ( a fantastic free digital LEGO building program) and made instructions for you to build you're on minifig head display case! We've updated the borders of the inside to be red, but you can make them black like the show, or just use whatever colour parts you would like! Testing LEGO Masters Make and Shake Tower Challenge! The Brickman 2020-04-27 | When we tested the shaking challenge 😵 from this week's LEGO Masters Australia episode we built a tonne of different LEGO towers to try out different techniques- and some fared better than others! The testing for us was just as much about testing the machine as it was the LEGO as well as working out the best height and width the contestants towers needed to achieve.

Behind the Build: Brickvention 2020 LEGO® brick Taz Devil The Brickman 2020-04-01 | Our resident motorcycle rider KC surprised us by NOT building a motorcycle for Brickvention 2020! He decided instead to create a "life-size" LEGO® version of his favourite Looney Tunes character, and fellow Tasmanian, Taz Devil. Not only that, he also decided to build the model as a self-portrait, including tonnes of custom details to represent himself. Life-size LEGO® brick Britten V-1000 motorcycle The Brickman 2020-03-18 | Toyco St Lukes in asked us to create a new model for their in-store LEGO Day this year we decided to build a real Kiwi icon- a life-size Britten Motorcycle Company V-1000 Motorcycle! There are only 10 of these hand-built record-breaking engineering marvels in existence and all are the brainchild of a single man.Our LEGO® brick V-1000 took us hundreds of hours to design and build. Toyco will be running a competition to guess how many bricks it took us, so stay tuned to their social pages for more. 😉
