This week's project is a continuation of the Inlay Greek Key Container. In this lesson we use several Fusion 360 design techniques to separate the key pattern from the container and apply a boolean operation to to subtract the body allowing us to 3D print two separate parts and then snap fit them together. In this video I show a technique to Emboss text on a complex surface. The Emboss tool only works directly with straight walls either cylinders or cones. Anything more complex and it just won't let you select the surface. Here's a workaround. Enjoy!

In this Fusion 360 video tutorial I show how I approached the brick texture for the cottage as well as the door and window trims. I was able to accomplish both with just the Thin Extrude tool. This approach is much more efficient than having to create closed sketch profiles for each shape you're looking to extrude. Enjoy!

In this video lesson I show how I prepared my Gingerbread House kit to be printed as a flat pack Christmas card. I go over two approaches I took to create the nested design. The first approach is to use the Align tool to lay all the walls flat on the xy plane. The second approach uses the Arrange tool to automatically do this.

Here's a useful you can use to make sure your Christmas ornaments hang perfectly level. It actually can be uses for a lot more than Christmas ornaments. Think of a sign, or figurine, or anything really. Fusion 360 has a tool called Center of Mass and this tools works great on 3D printed objects. In this quick tip lesson, I show you how to use it. Here's a creative and fun technique to enhance your 3D prints. After printing your designs, simply insert filament in the grooves to give it some beautiful embellishments. In this video I show you how I approached this and used Fusion 360 to design the model with the swirling grooves.

The Text on Path was a great addition to Fusion 360.
Here are some tips on how to get the most out of it and get your text positioned exactly where you need it.
When trying to extrude text with a taper angle for making soap molds, there was a problem where sometimes not all the letters would extrude. This is solved with using the loft tool instead. There are some steps in between. Watch the video to learn a useful technique.

In this beginner Fusion 360 tutorial we reverse engineer a whistle.
