Resident Evil Requiem is Painfully Mediocre
updated
This video will serve as a partial review of Hollow Knight Silksong but will more so focus on the questionable design choices Team Cherry made and get into why they feel overly punishing, tedious, and why they cause the game to not be an enjoyable experience. It's got a ton of polish and clearly a ton of work went into it, but it feels like Team Cherry leaned into the worst aspects (The Soulslike Elements) of the 1st game and doubled down on them.

Kojima has proved time and time again that he is a hack writer and that is on full display in this game. His writing even back in the Metal Gear Solid series was still very poor at times but he's gone off the deep end in the 2nd installment of his hit video game series Death Stranding (sponsored by Monster Energy).

If this mindset keeps you from being able to accept that not everyone is going to approach how they consume media the same way you do, its time to get off of the internet. Movies, TV, and Games all have flaws and even the best of them can be improved by proper criticism. Stop tying your entire identity to these giant franchises like Star Wars and Elden Ring and Elder Scrolls and instead enjoy them for what they do well and let others critique them for their shortcomings.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is a solid game that we both enjoyed. The biggest issues we had with it were the lack of balance within combat due to how overpowered the dodge and parry system are. Because the defensive options are so strong, the enemies and bosses have to use parlor tricks in the form of delay attacks and party wipes to compete. The other major flaw would be the story, specifically towards the end of Act 2. They abandoned seeing out the cool direction the story was headed in, in favor of twist after twist with little substance behind it.

The original Elder Scrolls Oblivion is superior to the remaster in just about every way minus graphical fidelity obviously due to it coming out 19 years before it. Despite this, people are happy to throw money at Todd Howard and Bethesda for a soulless lazy cash grab of a remaster that is buggier and uglier than the original. If all it takes to make a quality "remaster" these days is improved graphics that butcher the aesthetic and art style of the original, then maybe gaming truly is doomed.

It's no secret that over the years, Todd Howard has been very polarizing amongst fans of Bethesda games. Yet somehow in the year of our lord 2025, simply outsourcing a remaster of a beloved 2006 game off to a small French studio is putting the entire games industry on notice according to hardcore gamers like The Act Man, Legendary Drops, and LegacyKillaHD. We'll break down a couple of the bad arguments from each of these guys and show why they don't hold water and why this remaster is nothing more than a lazy cash grab to prey on the nostalgia of fans of the original game.

Inflation, tariffs, and better hardware and performance among other things are all being propped up as justifications for the increase in the pricing of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its games. New reveals such as Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza, and The Duskbloods were all overshadowed by the backlash to the new pricing model as well as Nintendo's poor response to the backlash. It also appears Nintendo could be poised to increase prices even further after evaluating tariffs that went into place the same day as the reveal which could embolden other gaming companies to continue increasing their prices to the detriment of the consumers.

Assassin's Creed Shadows has come and gone and it was the same boring slog that the recent entries in the series have been but with even more jank and more exquisite diversity.
The folks at Ubisoft claimed to care about "historical accuracy" in order to facilitate making Yasuke a make believe Samurai but also used that opportunity to change a lot of the characters in AC Shadows to be more inclusive. On top of this you've got a bunch of clowns online shilling for this game and pretending it's a perfectly competent entry into the series while receiving their early access key as usual. The game is a broken buggy mess with almost no redeeming qualities and the best purpose I can find for it is just to relentless mock it especially given how much it cost to make and how many different people worked on it. Yasuke Simulator is the definitive Feudal Japan experience when it comes to Afro Samurais.

The 2 biggest complaints we have with the game boil down to how it offers no challenge whatsoever and has completely abandoned the identity of the Monster Hunter series. Capcom all of a sudden wants to focus on a mediocre story filled with ugly androgynous characters and a comically diverse cast rather than focus on what we're all here for which is the monster hunts themselves. Speaking of the actual hunts, or rather fights since there's no hunting or tracking this time around, the monsters are a complete joke and offer nothing in the way of an actual challenge. Even high rank tempered and frenzied monsters get destroyed with ease since the players have been buffed while the monsters have been either unchanged or completely nerfed. It doesn't help that absolute slop consumers like Legendary Drops and EndymionTV are our here pretending the game is amazing and not woke at all (despite the 300lb ultra muscular brown women) just because it sold well and has a busty blonde on the cover.
Editor's note: In the Investor section I meant to put a note on screen but for JP Morgan and State Street's % of shares owned, they were each on the list twice each with different account numbers so I combined them to accurately reflect the total percentage.

Games industry professionals can't keep getting away with it. It doesn't matter if it's developers, studio heads, directors, etc. They can't keep hating their customers and not listening to feedback. They continue to run into the same issues repeatedly but never seem to learn from their mistakes. Mark Darrah and others will continue to label any criticism or negative feedback as cruelty or hatred from gamers because he and his "allies" in the games industry can't accept they made a bad product and refuse to ever take responsibility for it.

We'll be specifically highlighting the main 3 lies which are Henry and Hans' sexuality, the reasoning for including more diverse characters, and the source of funding for Warhorse's parent company Embracer Group who is indeed funded by Blackrock. It's literally in their financial report available on their website. We'll also touch on a particular Youtuber game reviewer, Worth A Buy, and his incessant shilling for this game. Kingdom Come Deliverance II absolutely has forced diversity, retconning characters to allow for gay romance, ESG funding, and all the other hall marks that most of these so called anti-woke critics would normally destroy a game for. But because they were fans of the 1st game they have to defend it to the death despite it clearly being updated for modern audiences.

This show promises to be a biting satire on the superhero genre that subverts your expectations. Stop me if you've heard this one before (Looking at Amazon's The Boys). Once you get past all the flash kills, blood, and guts you're left with uninteresting characters with questionable motivations. They're strong and powerful when the show needs them to be and their powers are comically ineffective when it's convenient. Between Omni-man, Invincible, Atom Eve, and Allen the Alien, it can be impossible to tell their true power because in some scenes they're unstoppable and in others they are useless. Not to mention this show throws tons of useless side plots at you throughout, with characters that they haven't put in the work to make us care about. Somewhere buried under all the gratuitous violence there are some decent ideas and a solid premise, but they don't do anything substantive with it. I'm still also unsure how 2D animation somehow looks worse now than it did 50 years ago but I guess that's a question for a different day.

Whether it's the writers choosing to have Jinx flip flop back and forth between insane and perfectly stable because a child fell from the sky into her lap, or Heimerdinger no longer caring about the dangers of the Arcane because he needs to strum a guitar for some folks from an alternate universe. A lot of the decisions both in the structure, pacing, and how these characters behave in the opposite way from what we've come to know of them in the first season, are head scratching to say the least. The more I look around the internet the more I think they tried to sneak a bunch of fan service in but in a way that came off as pandering specifically in regards to the Jinx and Ekko or Caitlyn and VI romances. The shippers are out of control and must be stopped!
Before Season 1, I'd have never thought I'd enjoy a serious show based on League of Legends lore, but they somehow pulled off the impossible. The creative forces that made that a reality seem to be absent now. The animation, voice acting, and just about all other technical aspects of the show are phenomenal but it's hollow due to how little they made me care about the characters or what is happening to them since the scale is ramped up to an insane degree. The class struggle of Season 1 was a perfect way to tell that story but this season we jumped straight to time travel and multiverses to the detriment of the storytelling.

All gameplay clips in this video are mine and were on either patch 2.1 or 2.2. The AI in this game are still a buggy broken mess that don't act like real people in the slightest. They are inconsistent in how they interact with the environment, they constantly get stuck, their pathing is atrocious, and they drive like their playing Twisted Metal. The police force is incapable of finding you or even when they occasionally do their aggro is so inconsistent that they will go from blasting you to ignoring you in an instant.
CD Projekt Red after 4 years still hasn't delivered the game that they promised yet gamers are forgiving them and even praising them because they've made some slight improvements. On top of that, they had the nerve to drop a paid DLC (Phantom Liberty) knowing the game is still completely broken. We have to stop accepting unfinished games and letting these studios off the hook by paying full price for a broken product.

The West is completely lacking in any presence at these awards when it come to Game of the year, minus Balatro which isn't even from a western studio but rather a solo developer. Corporatization and DEI Initiatives are holding the west back because they're too focused on squeezing out every dime and pushing diversity rather than focusing on making quality games.
You also have a DLC nominated in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree which is silly considering Elden Ring already won GOTY in 2022. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a remake so it's also a weird choice. Black Myth Wukong had great production value but pretty shallow combat and Metaphor Refantazio's story is beyond stupid. I haven't played Astro Bot so there isn't much to say there.
2024 was a terrible year for gaming but it's a bit suspicious that some of the games that sold and reviewed the best didn't make the cut. Stellar Blade, Space Marines 2, Palworld, and Helldivers 2 all missed the cut for Game of the Year.

This game tries tackle heavy themes such as racial discrimination, tribalism, fanaticism, and anxiety but doesn't actually explore any of them further than surface level. The game also tends to undermine its own themes quite often. On top of that, player choice is not only inconsequential but the creators of this game put the optimal game choices behind their preferred morality choices. The consequences of your choices and actions are often undone very quickly and never land with the impact that they should. The biggest issue of all is that the story is filled with plot contrivances and even plot holes. Many times the characters act in such incredibly stupid ways that it makes it impossible to be invested in the story they are trying to tell. Despite the insane heaps of praise critics and users alike are giving this, Metaphor Refantazio sucks.

Legacy games media cares far more about pushing identity politics than it does about accurately covering gaming news and providing honest and informative reviews for their customers. Look no further than IGN's purposeful hit piece on Game Science and Black Myth Wukong. They are access journalism at its worst and will always be compromised in their reviews and coverage to keep the corporate giants like EA and Ubisoft happy.
A lot of the more popular content creators in the gaming space aren't much better though. Creators like The Act Man, Dunkey, Luke Stephens, CohhCarnage, and Penguinz0 (Moist Cr1tikal) are either shills, idiots, fence sitters, or just painfully unfunny. In this video, we're diving into the troubled waters of Dragon Age: Veilguard, the latest installment in the beloved Dragon Age series. As a long-time fan of Bioware, it pains me to say that Veilguard is doomed from the start. With a history of missteps, from Mass Effect Andromeda to the decline of Bioware's game design, it's clear that the company is struggling to regain its footing. The Dragon Age fanbase is notoriously loyal, but even they can't save Veilguard from its poor gameplay, lackluster design, and overall sense of disappointment. In this video, we'll explore the reasons why Veilguard is headed for failure, and what this means for the future of Bioware. Is the company in crisis mode, or can they turn things around? Let's discuss the Veilguard review, its gameplay, and the insights that reveal a deeper issue within Bioware.

There are a few pretty well-made ones, but the vast majority are either underdeveloped or have bad mechanics like endlessly spawning adds, teleporting offscreen, spamming projectiles with massive hit stun, etc. There are also just so many that a number of them are boring, uninspired, and just die without putting up enough of a fight to even matter.
