I went for grunge this time. I know there are a lot of rock remixes of this song, but I mixed in some of my own ideas to make it more unique. Let me know if you like this one, and if I should make more covers like it!Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate HD - ways to die/suffer (plus a bonus at the end)Sam Automatic2023-08-12 | Saw this game on sale, decided to give it the same treatment as Lords of Shadow 1 and 2. It's not great, but it had enough interesting moments to justify a video. The segment with Simon is much longer, because it includes a lot of common deaths that would be unnecessary to repeat with Alucard/Trevor. Rate, comment and subscribe!Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 - player deaths, failed QTEs and other goofs (compilation)Sam Automatic2023-08-06 | So, I finally got around to playing the sequel! It's not on-par with the first game, but it had some interesting moments. There was enough content to justify making another QTE failure compilation, so that's what I did. Some of these are just showing off the game's absurd QTE situations (like opening a door), and many of the QTE fails don't result in an instant game-over. And if you're at low health and die from the QTE, the animation doesn't change. So I don't always show a death scene. Unfortunately I don't have audio on a lot of these clips, so I had to use music. Also had to censor a few enemies that may be considered NSFW. Hope you enjoy! Let me know if there's other games you think I should cover - something that isn't already on YouTube.Street Fighter 6 - an example of bad tactics (Modern controls Ken)Sam Automatic2023-06-25 | I'm not the best player, but I thought this was an interesting match due to multiple tactical errors from the Ken player. It's a teachable moment on why Modern controls don't replace skill and planning - the player repeats the mistake of jumping into a grab, wastes his drive bar and goes into burnout way too quickly. This allows Guile to chip away at his health even when the Ken blocks.Street Fighter 2 - Chun-Lis stage theme (chill version) #SoundoleChillout2023 #streetfighterSam Automatic2023-05-28 | Second time entering this competition! In honor of Street Fighter 6 releasing in a week, I decided to cover something from the series. Thought about covering Kimberly's theme to be trendy, but I decided to go for something classic instead. This is a spin on the original Chun-Li theme from her debut game, with more of a trap vibe.Street Fighter 6 Open Beta - quick set with Kimberly!Sam Automatic2023-05-21 | This has been a lot of fun, testing out the new SF6 before launch. Kimberly is one of the new characters who has a fast, fluid ninja style which I enjoy in SF. Same reason I like playing Ibuki. I'm no pro, but I decided to record a couple matches for the channel. Hope you enjoy!Final Fantasy VII - Ahead On Our Way (UnKalm remix)Sam Automatic2023-05-20 | If you enjoyed this cover, leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more!
This is a PM submission for May 2023, theme "5th Gen Gaming". I have a lot of nostalgia for this era, and although I didn't play it until years after release, FFVII is one of my fondest gaming memories. Here's one of the tracks that stood out to me despite its simplicity. It's very peaceful and mellow, and I had this idea in my head - what if it wasn't so "Kalm". Get it, that's the name of the village where this plays. Pretty clever eh.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - 80 Seconds to Defuse (Menu Theme remix)Sam Automatic2023-04-27 | This is a remix/cover of a track everyone hears when they start the game. For me, it's a little nostalgic. I threw in some of the second menu theme too, the one you hear after getting kicked/disconnected.The Yoshi Clan - Yoshis New Island (remix)Sam Automatic2023-03-27 | The goal was to cover something from the 3DS. My first plan wasn't working, but I still wanted to put something up for this month. I thought it'd be funny to cover this, since the original was so poorly-received by Nintendo fans.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time - Alleycat Blues (remix) [ft. Triple B Music]Sam Automatic2023-02-18 | PM contest submission, theme is Co-Op games. I decided to go for one of the coolest and most nostalgic games in the beat-em-up genre. Let me know in the comments: who's your favorite turtle? Also, if you enjoy this video, click the thumbs up button and subscribe to the channel for more awesome content. Special thanks to @TripleBMusic for providing a guitar solo, and Konami for making this classic gem.Super Mario Bros. 3 - Underground Theme (2023 remix)Sam Automatic2023-01-25 | Another Pixel Mixers contest entry. This month's task: cover one of the first games you played. This proved somewhat tricky since the original is super-simple, so I added in other music from the game. But that iconic 3-note sequence is always present.Sonic CD - Palmtree Panic remix [JP + US merged]Sam Automatic2022-12-22 | Another PM submission. This is the second Sonic track I've done, hope you guys enjoy.
I first played this on the Gamecube via Gems collection and was blown away by the OST, and then I found out that wasn't even the original version. I prefer JP, but both are pretty good and I see SEGA's rationale at the time. So I included elements from the US version in this cover.[SURPRISINGLY DOPE] 20 minutes of AI-generated music (Riffusion)Sam Automatic2022-12-16 | Source: riffusion.com/about These incredibly creative folks have used Stable Diffusion to generate spectrograms from text. The results, like with artwork, are unpredictable and will surprise you. I decided to record some random prompts that popped into my head, and some of it actually sounds pretty good in my opinion. Lots of lo-fi type beats.Wanderer a.k.a. Scaramouche is FAST (Genshin Impact showcase)Sam Automatic2022-12-10 | I was testing him with the max speed buffs and wow! The one problem is, I just got him and he doesn't have a lot of duration on his flying skill. So it runs out kind of quick. Still, at this point he's gotta be the fastest character in the game. Sorry Sayu and Yelan. Also, I forgot to mention in the video, but he has Lost Prayer of the Sacred Winds equipped, which is an additional speed buff of 10%. So the max is actually 179%.Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance - Successor of Fate (remix)Sam Automatic2022-11-28 | This is a cover, the term "remix" is used to increase visibility.
This is a Pixel Mixers submission for "Hero Month", where we cover a song associated with any videogame hero. I picked one of the lesser-known protagonists from the Castlevania series, Juste Belmont. The music from the starting area is commonly treated as Juste Belmont's theme, as it is unique to this game and character. I decided to try a unique spin on the track.Steam Next Fest showcase - Vengeful Guardian MoonriderSam Automatic2022-10-14 | Hey guys, I played a few demos from Steam's recent "Next Fest" event that promoted indie titles. I decided to record and upload my first experiences with the demos, with no preparation or practice beforehand. So you will see me fail and die, that's just a part of experiencing the game.
Wow was this a great demo! Really nailed the retro aesthetic, has its own distinct stylings and feels very fun to control. Anyone who grew up in the NES or SNES era will feel right at home with this game. Nothing groundbreaking, but I had a good time experiencing these first 2 levels without any prep. After this video, I played the tutorial and learned how to do the dive kick - I opted not to start with the tutorial since older games didn't have them. If the game's good, you'll figure out how to play it. And FYI if you're not a fan of this CRT filter, it's off by default.Steam Next Fest showcase - Slam and RollSam Automatic2022-10-13 | Hey guys, I played a few demos from Steam's recent "Next Fest" event that promoted indie titles. I decided to record and upload my first experiences with the demos, with no preparation or practice beforehand. So you will see me fail and die, that's just a part of experiencing the game.
I found Slam and Roll to be very simple, but very charming and successful with its retro appeal. It totally looks and feels like something I could've played as a kid! Love the music too. I will be checking this one out once it releases. Since I knew I liked the game after only a few levels, I decided to save the rest for later, when I've got the full version!Mario Tennis - Exhibition (remix)Sam Automatic2022-09-28 | Team Sakuraba! Been a while since I entered the PM contest. The standard exhibition theme is catchy AF and I hope I did it justice! Also added a bit of the Match Point motif. Overall I wanted to keep it short like the original, but a little more relaxed. Stay tuned for the 100-subscriber special track![Sleeping Dogs] strange, elastic NPC behaviorSam Automatic2022-08-26 | I don't think I've ever seen this specific type of interaction in an open-world game. Usually, important NPCs are invincible and will either dodge your car, have static collision (like hitting a wall) or just teleport out of the way. But in this game, they get magically pulled back to their origin in a way that can fling your car. Not that interesting, but I'm cleaning up some old gameplay clips and figured I'd upload this.MultiVersus - high-level Taz gameplaySam Automatic2022-07-20 | BrokenMonster Hunter Rise - Sunbreak co-op gameplay! (PC)Sam Automatic2022-07-10 | Decided to record one of my early Sunbreak hunts, just to see the quality. I play in 1440P but record 1080P, which can create some degradation, but I think the result's okay here. But the framerate isn't quite as smooth as it could be. Guess I should turn the graphics down! My main goal here was to test out Drill Slash with the fire element weapon I just created. Not as potent as I expected, but of course it doesn't matter, we killed it quickly regardless.Marvel vs Capcom - Morrigans theme (chill version) #SoundoleChillOut2022Sam Automatic2022-06-01 | Kinda made this at the last minute, but it was something I had thought about covering for a while. I hope the listeners enjoy this Soundole chill out contest entry, along with the 50 others, and here's to many more competitions in the future! It's good to see the VGM community come together.Multiversus - Batman vs Tom & Jerry gameplay (Closed Alpha)Sam Automatic2022-05-24 | I was in the previous tests, but we couldn't record and upload gameplay of those. It's cool to finally see all the Smash/Rivals/etc. pros coming to Multiversus. The downside: I'm winning a lot less often. But here's a match where I win, hope you enjoy.Hyrule Field (Zelda: Twilight Princess version) coverSam Automatic2022-04-27 | Enjoy!Vs. Excitebike - Final Selection (cover)Sam Automatic2022-03-27 | For this month, I picked a somewhat obscure track that I heard via Nintendo Switch Online. Was just trying out NES games, picked Vs. Excitebike and it had some very catchy jingles in it. Very different from the regular version of the game. This version was released in arcades and later ported to the Famicom Disk System, basically the Japanese NES with a fancy accessory. I went for a big band-style arrangement, as it's something I have never tried before, but I added some other sounds too... hope you enjoy! The visualizer program is called MIDITrail.Elden Ring - EASY OMENKILLER VICTORY STRATSam Automatic2022-03-21 | For people who are tired of getting one-shot by this guy.Sonic Adventure 2 - Dry Lagoon (remix)Sam Automatic2022-02-26 | *watch in 1080P60FPS for the best quality*
Tried something a lil' different. For this month's contest I thought about covering something from Jet Set Radio Future. Decided I couldn't do that in a meaningful way, so instead I picked something else and tried to do it in a Hideki Naganuma style. Seemed like an interesting, experimental thing to do.Check out Grogu when Grogu get upSam Automatic2022-02-05 | I had to make thisRistar - Planet Flora (stage 1-1) coverSam Automatic2022-01-27 | This month the Pixel Mixers challenge theme is "one-off" games that have no official sequel or prequel. Ristar was considered valid since it only has a Game Gear downgrade port, which doesn't violate the guidelines, so I covered the first stage of the game. Very original, I know. I tried to match the dynamic nature and various motifs of the track, while making it more substantial overall, since the original's barely a minute long. Let me know what you think in the comments section, and subscribe for more!Sleeping Dogs - funny 4th-wall break/lampshadingSam Automatic2022-01-16 | So, like most GTA clones this game lets you steal cars, run over bystanders and wreak havoc. But I didn't expect NPCs to actually reference it ingame. Not sure if this counts as a true 4th-wall break since they don't directly address the player, but it's clearly a reference to players' psychopathic tendencies. Let me know if you want to see more meta/self-referential moments in gaming.Tekken 3 - King theme (cover)Sam Automatic2021-12-26 | Hey, it's been a few months but I'm back with another track! This is a mix of both the original and arranged versions of the character theme, hope you enjoy. BTW, the gameplay looks best if you click that gear icon and select 60 FPS. :)The New Zelda Forest Temple Theme - Funk version (with OoT soundfont)Sam Automatic2021-10-28 | Meme song but with the OoT soundfont (except for the drums). Thanks to Matt MVS for this strange upbeat funky composition. I also added some elements to flesh it out more, but not too much because this was only meant as a quick joke. Someone could make this (and the other versions) into something really interesting.Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl - Helga arcade mode (60 FPS)Sam Automatic2021-10-05 | Yeah, I got it. Decided to try out Helga since 1) she seems like she has some good tools similar to a swordie from Smash Bros and 2) Hey Arnold was a pretty good show. I was surprised by how much faster this game feels compared to SSBU - seeing it in videos is one thing, but actually playing it is another. This is after a few arcade/training mode matches, and as you can see, I still haven't really gotten a handle on this game. But it's not bad at all! I look forward to seeing where GameMill takes it. Let me know in the comments if you want to see playthroughs with any other characters, and subscribe to the channel for more gaming content.Final Fantasy Origin: Jack listens to Qbomb by Tony ThaiSam Automatic2021-10-01 | LolFinal Fantasy XIV - Black Shroud battle theme (remix)Sam Automatic2021-09-25 | I'm not very familiar with this game, so I picked a common, early-game piece of music to remix. I decided to keep some of the orchestral tone, but change the overall theme into something faster and more electronic in nature. Let me know what you think in the comments section! Should I do more in this style?Megaman 8 - Sword Man/Frost Man mashupSam Automatic2021-08-28 | Weird combo but I made it work... I think. This game's not great but it does have some cool level themes, I picked 2 to combine for the "Fire and Ice" qualifier on PM. Obviously Frost Man's area is full of ice, and Sword Man (or "Swordsman" as he calls himself in the game for some reason) is in a temple full of fire and lava. Also, he seems pretty smart while Frost Man is less so. They're total opposites, which made it tricky to combine both themes into one song. I came up with a decent flow from theme A into B, and went for an overall temple vibe that grew solemn to accommodate the B theme.Mario Paint - Creative Exercise (orchestral remix)Sam Automatic2021-07-28 | EnjoySmash Bros. Ultimate - how to create faster gameplaySam Automatic2021-07-10 | 2 years in the making, I finally created a formal video about this. Hope you enjoy.Kazuya TURBO MODE (Smash Bros Ultimate)Sam Automatic2021-06-30 | After a couple of matches with the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character, I figured I'd try a match on my glitched 120% speed custom stage. As you can see, his 10-hit combo is totally broken now, and you end up behind the guy somehow. Interesting. I didn't try out all of his moves because I was still learning them, but you get to see about half his moveset maybe? Enjoy.Game Over - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (special QTE fails)Sam Automatic2021-06-28 | Hey guys, I've been meaning to put this up for a while. Most of this game just has your guy dying generically, but some of the battles have unique death animations that are kinda cool to look at. I saved the ones I thought were noteworthy, hope you enjoy!Mario Kart 64 - Toads Turnpike (remix)Sam Automatic2021-06-27 | Hey guys, this month I decided to go back to another childhood N64 classic. About a year ago, I did music from Diddy Kong Racing. Since then I have definitely stepped up the production and instrumentation a bit, hope you enjoy.Genshin Impact movement tech: Albedos hyper jumpSam Automatic2021-06-12 | "Super jump" was taken. Didn't have much time for this arrangement or the video, but I hope you enjoy it anyway! Thanks to Alexander Brandon for creating the original, which really sets the tone of a futuristic Hong Kong. I went for a different, harsher tone.Minecraft - showing off my automatic wheat farm (HQ)Sam Automatic2021-05-17 | MinecraftShovel Knight - Explodatorium (Plague Knight theme) remixSam Automatic2021-04-26 | Plague Knight's a cool dude. So I made a remix/cover variation on his level theme, hope you enjoy! This is from the Shovel Knight side story "Plague of Shadows", in which Plague Knight becomes the main protagonist.FFXIII-2 - Memory (jazz cover)Sam Automatic2021-03-28 | Another Pixel Mixers submission, this time for women's month. This one's a tribute to a great protagonist from a great RPG, Final Fantasy 13-2. Let me know what you think in the comments! I approached this one from a smooth jazz perspective, with some tonal shifts to emulate the "Paradigm Shift" game mechanic. (Actually it was just because I felt like it)Street Fighter III:Third Strike - Jazzy NYC (cover) [Warning: language]Sam Automatic2021-02-27 | What's up guys, had an idea for a cool cover and luckily, there was a special guest willing to help out. Also, part of this was inspired from a classic hip hop track, maybe some of you recognize it. Finally, credit goes to Youtuber Exposzed for uploading the Fortnite stuff in very high quality.
Lyrics by Gnegon:
Yo, stay Out of my zone 'cuz you're playing with fire Try to land your jump and I'll juggle you higher I got a strong battle tendency, try it Fight or flee 'cuz the street is a riot Fist in your face down the middle lane axis Praxis in the field of giving epistaxis Relax bitch, that's a nosebleed what I'm saying I held back like Oro but now I'm done playing
Phase three of my attack on your eardrums Fear none of your rules 'cuz they're for dum-dums Assholes telling me to set apart Video game shit and "real life" arts Bro, you for real? 'Cuz I'm real as hell Fight in the 'hood with my gamepad as well As with my voice and my banner when those Fuckers in charge try to reach in my clothes
Came down from the battle highway and it's my day 'Cuz today we bring it to the streets I got my cause and a chill funky beat Everyone's here pumping fists, stomping feet And if you still don't get what I'm on about Have a test taste of my leftie clout A Morpheus kiss from my fucking fist Crossing you out from the tournament list
