Haunted Church Hill Tunnel: Deadly Tragedy of 1925 (Raft Exploration) Connor Exploring 2023-10-29 | Come along today as we explore a spooky abandoned underground railway tunnel in Richmond Virginia. From the fatal history to the creepy white mist that moved toward me at the end of the explore, this is a haunting place. It is even said to be the lair of the Richmond vampire. If I have ever explored a haunted place, this is it. The Church Hill tunnel of Richmond, Virginia withholds some of the most tragic early railroading history in Virginia. Completed in 1873, several people died from collapses during the initial years of construction. In 1901 the tunnel was temporarily abandoned upon the completion of the viaduct. In an attempt to repair the tunnel and make it fully operational in 1925, a large portion of the tunnel collapsed on 200 workers and ten flat freight cars. One body was recovered while a fireman later died at a local hospital. The last body was recovered October 10, than all rescue efforts were permanently halted to prevent further loss of life. Two bodies and the railway cars have never been recovered. The Chesapeake and Ohio railway who built the tunnel was used to blasting through solid bedrock. The area of Richmond consists of unstable clay. The tunnel extends 4,000 feet beneath the Church Hill district of Richmond, Virginia. Much of the tunnel is likely collapsed. The tunnel continues to collapse, even in the modern era, causing sinkholes. This has damaged houses, a church, and a tennis court. In 2006, the Virginia Historic Society investigated recovering the train and bodies. The men were to be given a proper burial and the train was to be preserved. A hole was drilled and a camera entered into the hidden cavity of the tunnel. It found that the tunnel was filled with silt and water, and further investigations could result in further collapses and hazards. The investigation has been on hold ever sense. According to Urban Legend, this is the Lair of the Richmond Vampire. Abandoned Virginia Mills and Stairway of Doom Connor Exploring 2023-10-14 | Come along today as we urban explore Richmond Virginia. This features Abandoned mills. The most dramatic part of this exploration was climbing down the spiral staircase. This was met with some difficulty as it was not connected to the main staircase. The brick façade of the mill could date back to the late 19th century. The staircase along with the rest of the explore was an early-mid 20th century addition. The mills include a large mill site along the James River, and an introduction to Belle Island hydroelectric plant. Let me know if you guys would like to see a full exploration of Belle Island. Abandoned Building w/ Vintage OTIS Elevator - Urban Exploration Virginia Connor Exploring 2023-10-01 | Come along today as we venture inside an abandoned building surrounded by historic and vacant Richmond Structures. This includes factories and warehouses of various uses. The most well known being Fulton Gas Works. These complexes were used to power and industrialize Richmond throughout the 19th-20th centuries. 1870 Baltimore Orphanage in Ruinous Decay -Home of the Friendless- (urbex) Connor Exploring 2022-11-27 | Home of the Friendless is an orphanage constructed in 1870 composed of 7 stories including the attic and basement. It provided a home for orphaned and deserted children for 6 decades and is the last remaining structure from a 3 building complex that housed 100 to 200 children annually. By 1922 the Board of Managers and Trustees decided to sell the property. It has not served an official purpose since and has been passed from buyer to buyer. it currently resides as a historic structure in desperate need of intervention before it is lost to time and decay.This video was filmed in the spring of 2020 and features a historic 1870 orphanage in urban Baltimore, Maryland with beautiful arching brick-work architecture on the façade and in the basement.
Family Home of Horrors (Discretion Advised) Connor Exploring 2022-10-31 | Happy Halloween!In honor of the spookiest season, I decided to post the creepiest place I have been to date. I left this place feeling different and a part of unspeakable horrors that may have taken place here have stuck with me. The belongings suggest that over 15 years ago a family resided here, then disappeared, leaving behind many of their belongings. This included a property covered with child toys and antiquities. The most disturbing discovery being the mummified remains of their dog in the basement section of their home which at some point also served as a seemingly inhumane bedroom for a little girl or boy (presumably a girl). After analyzing the footage, I deduce that the basement bedroom was not used as a kids bedroom for years before it was abandoned. It seems like the room was more recently converted to house the dog. If the dog was elderly and/or neglected it may have began to poop in the closed room which would explain the presence of dozens of Clorox containers and such used to clean dog poop and pee surrounding the now deceased pet in the basement. If the family abruptly disappeared or died, the dog may have been trapped in the room until it succumbed to starvation. it appeared to have died peacefully on the child's bed. Perhaps due to a connection they had in life. Regardless of if any of this is true or not what led a family to leave their pet in their basement for decades is horrifying. I find it shocking that there has never been any living relatives to properly bury the dog at the very least. Perhaps in denial of the mistake the surviving family members made leaving the dog to die is too much to ever face. The amount of vandalization throughout solely the home with the dog in it suggests a lack of respect from locals, so perhaps something more sinister happened here. The more historic structure is left merely untouched of vandalism compared to the main family home with the dog in it. Hopefully someday there will be answers in honor of the pet's unfortunate demise and any of the other family members associated with the tragedy. This building reflects the vintage era of the mid-twentieth century as it and a theatrical building were abandoned far before the rest of the campus. This abandoned house was built over a century ago and contained numerous vintage items including old T.Vs and bicycles. Football magazines and newspapers were found throughout the school. The theater seating and the textbooks were the smoking guns that identified this as an abandoned religious school, likely practicing a branch of Christianity. Hand-Built Farmhouse Complex in the Woods of Virginia Connor Exploring 2020-10-18 | Come along today as we explore an abandoned farmhouse complex isolated in the forest of Virginia. This complex includes over 12 buildings and a large hand made farmhouse. This farmhouse was abandoned many years ago as the conditions is extremely dilapidated. The rivets carved in the wooden boards shows that the house was built over a century ago by the former occupants of the property. This place was home to at least one parent or guardian and also at least one young girl named Hailee. Why Hailee and her family up and left one day, leaving behind many of their belongings and art work, is unknown.

Forgotten Abandoned Shacks in the Forest Connor Exploring 2020-07-11 | Come along today as we venture inside an abandoned cabin in the woods of Virginia. In this video, we explore two cabins isolated in the forest. The first was relatively empty but the second had a fully stocked kitchen with all the supplies left behind. These cabins were covered in cob webs and full of vintage equipment showing how long ago these places were left to the elements.
Massive Abandoned 1920 Elementary School Connor Exploring 2020-07-04 | Come along with me today as we venture inside a massive abandoned elementary school in Virginia. This is a historical landmark for the area as it was constructed in 1920. Locals would like to see this location restored for apartments rather than demolished due to it's historical significance. This was the largest abandoned elementary school I have ever explored, the most breathtaking room being the massive auditorium with several dozen fans on the roof. One of the most unique auditoriums I have seen in an abandoned school as well. This school closed as a result of hazards such as asbestos, lead paint, and outdated plumbing being present throughout the structure.This video was officially posted in December of 2019 although the video contained several glitches and editing errors. This was an amazing location so I believed that it deserved a better quality re-post at some point. I apologize for the decreased consistency of posting recently, but I am glad to say that some of my best videos are yet to come in the near future! Urbex: Historic American Ice Factory (Baltimore, MD) Connor Exploring 2020-06-20 | Come along today as we explore the historic abandoned Baltimore Ice Factory. This building was comprised of two primary rooms, one being the turbine hall which would power the machinery used to freeze the water into ice. The next and most largest room was used to manufacture and store the ice until it was ready to be shipped and sold to the consumer market.The American Ice Company was the primary importer of ice in Southern and Mid Atlantic regions during its heyday in the 1920's and 40's. It began to decline in the 50's after it became more efficient to produce and sell ice using alternate methods. In the early 60's it was sold to Baltimore American ice which switched to the production of bagged ice and dry ice to be sold to businesses. Grocery Stores were a primary consumer of the ice but many other industry's depended on the ice to preserve and construct their products. Abandoned Baltimore: Found Cars in Warehouse Connor Exploring 2020-06-06 | Come along today as we venture inside an abandoned warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. Inside the warehouse, I unexpectedly discovered two abandoned cars and a boat. This site was located adjacent to the historic abandoned ice factory which will be featured in my next video. At the beginning of the video I gave a sneak peak of some of the really cool spots I have been able to explore around Baltimore.The first clip is of an abandoned college in downtown Baltimore that had quite a scenic view of the city from the roof. The parkour clips were filmed at a warehouse adjacent to the one I found the cars in. Unfortunately, after all that work there was no way in the warehouse I initially attempted to explore, although I was able to get some cool shots of the old graffiti. Rustic Abandoned Cabin Home Connor Exploring 2020-05-23 | Come along today as we explore an abandoned cabin located in a desolate region of Virginia. This cabin was abandoned many years ago as seen by the amount of natural decay. It was likely owned by an elderly individual who did not have anyone to inherit or sell their home to after their death. I believe this to be true due to the bed pan I found while exploring the house. I also discovered a cloths line which shows these individuals choose to live off the land without washers/dryers which expresses how rustic this place really was.
Spooky Abandoned 1870 Asylum, Virginia Connor Exploring 2020-05-16 | Come along today as we venture inside an abandoned Lunatic Asylum in the Woods of Virginia. This asylum was built in 1870 and was specifically designated for African American patients. This was unusual for the time as slavery and injustice for minorities still plagued most of the south. However, this place did not treat their patients properly and most were only able to leave in body bags. After operating for approximately 104 years, this place officially closed in 1974. Overcrowding was the primary issue at this facility as there were over 5,000 patients in a building with a maximum capacity of roughly 2,000 patients. This led to under-staffing and neglect for the proper care the patients needed. Many places like this closed around this time due to changing ideologies in the proper treatment of the mentally ill. Inside Modern Abandoned Home Connor Exploring 2020-05-02 | Come along today as we venture inside a recently abandoned family home in Virginia that was left after the city kicked the residents out to make way for an overpass. Previously, I had explored the adjacent house and found belongings left by the residents and a detailed document outlining the construction of the overpass. This house was completely locked up until recently when someone broke in to steal the valuable copper plumbing in the walls. Hidden Abandoned Countryside Antiques School Connor Exploring 2020-04-25 | Join us today as we explore an abandoned antiques school in rural Virginia. Throughout this explore I noticed a mixture between items left behind after the school went abandoned in the mid 80's and antiques and junk brought in by local farms and shops local to the area. This school was actually pretty large considering it's remote location. The property consisted of three school buildings, one of which (the gym) was undergoing renovations, making it impossible to explore. Notable discoveries include loads of old bikes, paintings, a guitar, a drum set, electric piano, toys, antique chairs, furniture, workout equipment, vintage gift shop sign and an ornate stool.
Abandoned Mansion: Aesthetic Decay & Dilapidation (UrbEx) Connor Exploring 2020-04-18 | Come along today as we explore an urban abandoned mansion in Virginia. This mansion was in a very deep state of decay as most of the floor had sketchy collapses throughout. It looks like the building was constructed sometime during the 19th century. It appears that the site is undergoing renovations to prevent it from becoming further dilapidated. From the top of the mansion, a great view of the surrounding urban area can be seen.

This house had a lot of belongings left behind from furniture to family pictures, but it was obvious that vandals had found this place at some point. There was not any graffiti, but I was still shocked at the amount of vandalism at this reasonably remote location. It was obvious that this location had been abandoned for at least a decade due to the amount of decay and deterioration. Urbex: Semi-Abandoned Cargo Facility in Richmond, Va Connor Exploring 2020-04-04 | Come along today as we urban explore a 5-story abandoned cargo facility in Richmond, Va. This facility was used to store and ship goods to consumers. Accessing this location was challenging as the only way in was through a hole in the wall which I had to climb to enter. Areas of this building is still used by an unknown private organization that leased the property, and they continue to power the lights in areas of the building. They even blocked off access to certain areas such as the roof, and they even tried to block off the stairs from reaching the second floor. Historic Abandoned Fulton Gas Works of Richmond, Va (167 yrs old) Connor Exploring 2020-03-28 | Come along today as we explore the abandoned Fulton Gas Works power plant in Richmond, Virginia. The coal power plant was constructed in 1853 and was operated by slaves during the civil war as most southerners were needed on the battlefront. This plant created a hazardous byproduct in the coal to gas conversion process that made this area into a toxic industrial brownfield. After sustaining damage from hurricane Anges in 1972, this site was left abandoned because it was not worth investing time and money into an outdated power plant. This place was completely covered in graffiti due to how urban the area was. Some graffiti was nice because one could tell it took talent and creativity to produce. This location had two main buildings, the main turbine hall which was explored in the beginning of the video, and another building which I was able to climb up ladders on the old industrial machinery. Remote Abandoned School: Beautiful Natural Decay & Overgrowth Connor Exploring 2020-03-21 | Come along today as we explore an abandoned school isolated in a rural region of Virginia. This school was left many decades ago, as seen by the beautiful natural decay and the soda machine which sold drinks for 45 cents. Judging by the amount of decay and the soda machine prices, I think this place was abandoned sometime between 1980-1990. The best decay can be seen in the auditorium and a few classrooms where everything was still setup as it where decades ago, but nature has began to reclaim its territory. This school was so old that it was difficult to find a defined date when this place was abandoned. Many beds were found at this school, which is unusual for most places, but due to this places isolation from the rest of the world, this place could have served more as a community center for people to spend much of their time. In this video, we explore 2 adjacent abandoned houses, the first being a time capsule containing the stories of someones fruitful life with a beautiful family -- and an eventual death around 2014 when this property was left abandoned.This place represents the "you can't take anything to the grave" ideology. This person collected many different things in a materialistic fashion throughout their life and it is sad to see all these belongings currently rotting away. I hope the remaining family members return to this home someday to collect the precious family pictures and such which can never be replaced.The "get better soon" arrangement of candies and flowers was the most sad and eerie discovery in the home, because it would appear that she did not get better... another eerie discovery includes the wig which I saw her wearing in a few pictures. Finding this made chills go down my spine because this was a physical piece of the deceased owner who's house I was currently exploring. Abandoned Mansion Estate: English Renaissance Design Connor Exploring 2020-02-15 | Come along today as we venture inside an abandoned Renaissance mansion estate in urban Virginia. The estate contains 2 buildings, the first I explored being the guest house or overflow rooms for if it was a large family. It was apparent that a family did once live in this mansion because one of the rooms was sponge bob themed presumably to appeal to a kid. The second building had the unique English renaissance architecture, which is extremely unusual for the area. This location had little to no vandalism which was surprising because of how urban the area was. The entrance was difficult and mildly suspicious, which might be the reasoning for why that is. This was a very beautiful home at one point, and still is as decay and time shed light on a new form of beauty. I attempted finding out about the history of this home but when I searched the address but no information was available. Overgrown Abandoned Virginia Houses left many years ago Connor Exploring 2020-02-08 | Come along today as we venture inside abandoned houses in the woods of Virginia. The main house that is explored in this video had many interesting features such as the old belongings left behind. The best rooms were on the second floor which had creepy bedrooms still reasonably in place making for some creepy vibes. Old vintage furniture was all throughout the house. A collapsed abandoned house deep in the woods adjacent to this house was also found, but because of its deteriorated condition, it was unable to be explored. A small one story house was also found but not much was left behind. This site was relatively isolated and remote so the damage is from natural decay. This abandoned property is part of a declining railroad town in rural Virginia (this place is close to being a ghost town). Packed Abandoned Cabin in Woods (left since 2005) Connor Exploring 2020-02-01 | Come along today as we venture inside a remote abandoned cabin in the middle of the woods in rural Virginia. This cabin was extremely overgrown and difficult to get to so I used an adjacent railroad to access this location. This cabin has been abandoned since 2005 lending the structure many years to decay and deteriorate. The floors have begun to collapse in several rooms making it difficult to navigate throughout the old house. It appears that the owner of the house likely died leaving it abandoned with many of her belongings. Vintage Abandoned Southern Ghost Town Exploration Connor Exploring 2020-01-25 | Join me today as we explore little known southern abandoned ghost town in a remote area of North Carolina. The primary industry of this town was cotton which is why it was built by the railroad in such a desolate area. This is so that there would be cheap land to farm large quantities of cotton while being close to the railroad which would allow for it to reach the consumer market.The surrounding area was sparsely populated and very rural. This town consisted of a Post office, shops, houses, cotton farms, and even a industrial building with 3 massive cotton gins used to remove the seeds from the cotton before it is put on the market. The post office and the adjacent shop both had a lot of belongings left behind from the former residents. This included shoes, clothing, vintage magazines and newspapers dating from the 70s and 80s, and other household items. Although much of this tows history is either forgotten or unknown, it was still a fascinating discovery as it represents a historical era in United States history. My hope is that towns like these will receive attention before it is too late. This town has begun to fall into a state of decay and disrepair and the structures may be unable to survive much longer.This abandoned town encompasses the historic theme of southern life on the frontier of home-made cotton products before everything became dominated by corporationalism making towns like these obsolete. I stumbled upon this location while traveling elseware. There is no information about this place on the internet making this place a unique and rare discovery. This home was nearly completely boarded up making it an extremely dark and creepy explore. This location has been abandoned for many decades, as seen by its deteriorated condition. I also found a pile of newspapers and articles dating between 1944 and 1970. This location might have been left abandoned around the 70's. This abandoned property consisted of several surrounding sheds and buildings throughout the overgrown woods. This abandoned property was located at the perimeter of an abandoned ghost town void of activity. Abandoned Home in Woods- interesting books left (North Carolina) Connor Exploring 2020-01-12 | Join me today as I venture inside an overgrown abandoned home in the woods of North Carolina. This was in a reasonably isolated and rural area. There was a series of abandoned homes down a unused rural dirt road. This was the largest and most interesting among the houses due to the significant amount of belongings left behind. Many fascinating personal belongings were left behind, the most interesting of which being the books. One was found to be about Nazis while many were about local history. The houses also had surrounding farm related buildings. maintenance and storage. One of the buildings had a chicken coop with mummified chickens still in the room. Route 666 Virginia: Creepy Abandoned Homes Connor Exploring 2020-01-05 | Join me today as we venture inside three abandoned houses along route 666 in Virginia. The first location was an old cabin, the second was an old abandoned home with a unique room with painted musical notes on the walls. The third location was an abandoned home located adjacent to an abandoned restaurant owned by the former owners of that house. This home was full of belongings and mostly everything was left behind. This included cloths, kitchenware, documents, toys, furniture, ect. There was a calendar dating 1985. The final home i explored was a time capsule as it remained unvandalized and untouched for decades. This house was also very creepy because it was completely sealed and boarded up besides a single back door. Being boarded up made it extremely dark and eerie throughout the explore of this house. This house had modern utilities and has only been abandoned for half a decade yet it has already begun to decay. It seems this house was left abandoned in 2014 after the family had to leave when a new highway was being constructed. The highway commission planned to demolish this house and the adjacent house as it seemed from their calculations that it would be in the way of a new highway. The highway was finished years ago, yet the houses still stand as there was enough room for the highway to be constructed without destroying the houses. Historic Abandoned Virginia Elementary School Connor Exploring 2019-12-14 | Come along with me today as we venture inside a massive abandoned elementary school in Virginia. This is a historical landmark for the area as it was constructed in 1920. Locals would like to see this location restored for apartments rather than demolished due to it's historical significance. This was the largest abandoned elementary school I have ever explored, the most breathtaking room being the massive auditorium with several dozen fans on the roof. One of the most unique auditoriums I have seen in an abandoned school as well. There was a fire at this location a few months ago and the recent board seen in the thumbnail was added after the fire department broke through the original barrier in order to extinguish the fire. Luckily, the fire was contained and only a couple rooms had damage from it. Abandoned North Carolina Ranch (civil war era tomb stone) Connor Exploring 2019-12-08 | Join me today as I explore an abandoned ranch in North Carolina. This abandoned property consisted of a farm house and a small barn for cattle. It was left abandoned decades ago which is shown through the amount of decay. Inside the barn I found an old grave dated for the individual being deceased in 1861, before the end of the Civil War. Makes me wonder if this individual died as a result of fighting in the civil war as battles did happen in the area. Abandoned Greek Orthodox Temple (Virginia Urban Exploration) Connor Exploring 2019-11-30 | Join us today we venture inside an abandoned Greek Orthodox Temple in Virginia. Little is known about this temple besides the fact that it was abandoned as a result of a larger and more up to date Greek Orthodox church opening nearby. This temple is located in a very urban environment adjacent to a massive shipyard. It was surprising how untouched and vandalized this location was for being in such a urban area. Usually locations like these are full of graffiti, and this place was completely void of such. However, it was evident that squatters and homeless individuals had indeed spent the night judging from the stuff they left behind. This was an old fashioned church with vintage windows and architecture. I was unable to find any history on this location, although it appeared to have been abandoned many decades ago, and was constructed at least a century ago.
Untouched Abandoned 90s Country Radio Station - Everything Left Behind (WFMC) Connor Exploring 2019-11-16 | Come along with us today as we venture inside a rural abandoned country radio station left abandoned for over 2 decades (since 1998). This radio station had everything left behind, include all the original equipment and music. There were hundreds of musical CD's, records, tapes, etc left behind. It was hard to tell if this location was damaged by natural causes associated with being abandoned for decades or if previous visitors had done any damage. The location appeared relatively untouched and there was no sign of graffiti. Abandoned Virginia House | Vintage Fireplaces Connor Exploring 2019-11-09 | Come along today as we venture inside of an abandoned suburban home in Virginia. This house is extremely dated and antique with fireplaces in nearly every room, which is characteristic of historical home designed before efficient heating. This house includes intricate designs of old architectural styles. This house had ornate chandeliers and fireplaces with gleaming tiles to go with the rooms in which they were present. This house has notably faced many years of decay, although the quality of the home's design presents hope that someday someone will purchase the home in light of its historical beauty.
