Sponsored by Kodak, it was located in the Imagination Pavilion and quickly became a fan favourite due to its imaginative characters, playful storyline, and innovative design.The ride followed the adventures of Dreamfinder, a friendly inventor, and Figment, his mischievous dragon companion. Dreamfinder and Figment would take guests on a journey through the world of imagination, exploring various realms of creativity, including art, literature, science, and performing arts. Dreamfinder would "collect" ideas, and Figment would add playful commentary, creating a sense of wonder and discovery.The ride's music was a major highlight, featuring the catchy and uplifting song "One Little Spark," composed by the Sherman Brothers, which became iconic for EPCOT.In 1998, the ride closed for a major refurbishment. Owned and operated by United Parks & Resorts, the park opened on June 1, 1959. This enchanting ride transported guests into a whimsical world where creativity knew no bounds, guided by two beloved characters: Dreamfinder, an imaginative inventor, and his mischievous dragon friend, Figment.The journey began as Dreamfinder collected ideas with his Dream Machine, creating Figment from the sparks of imagination. Guests were taken through vibrant and fantastical scenes representing different forms of creativity, including art, literature, performing arts, and science. Each scene was filled with vivid colours, imaginative designs, and innovative special effects that brought the power of imagination to life.Central to the ride was its unforgettable theme song, "One Little Spark," composed by the legendary Sherman Brothers.
