We were excited and felt His call on this opportunity to serve the body of Christ. However, four days into working with the senior pastor yellow and red flags began to pop up. The pastors demeaned was nothing like who he portrays himself to be. We went through 8- weeks of hell being verbally abused, belittled, bullied, spiritually manipulated, just treated like crap. After two conversations with the pastor and one of the board members we needed to get the whole board involved to handle this pastor. However, as we called out the behaviors of this pastor and had 9 other people who shared similar encounters with the pastor, suddenly we became the problem... we realized we were working for a narcissist. The emotional, mental, and spiritual impact this has had on both my wife and I... there are no words. The things he would say about people behind closed doors and his self-righteous attitude are just the top of the iceberg. Why do I say this...? I am going to go public with the experience we had. Titus 1:5-9, "must not be arrogant or quick tempered... or violent.. but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined." It is time you stop blaming the devil for trying to destroy the church and be a real man and take the responsibility for your own actions. And to the board, those of you who continue to hide his behavior and protect his ego, you also are disqualified to be leaders in the church. Do Christ the dignity and step down from your positions.
