An older test encode of my personal restoration of Super Mario Bros. The Great Rescue of Princess Peach. Scan is done from my own personal copy of the film reels. Sadly, rights for this movie appears to be a mess and me and Adobe Premiere seems to be having the occational disagreement (after roughly EVERY UPDATE), which is why this isn't my most recent WIP of the restoration. Main obmission here: more clean up on frames + my recent attempts at color tweaking. It does, however, still contain hundreds of tweaks courtesy of yours truly... but this is over a year and a half old test/archival encode.
All in all, asset acquisition, software licenses, reel scans, etc. probably has set me back somewhere short of about 20 000 USD (not counting hours spent tinkering with this project).
FemboyFilms will be helping out with finishing what I started.
This project initially started with two VHS copies back in the early 00s, and chances are that the digital transfer you've got of this movie (which isn't in the DivX codec) is from the early inception for this project.`
I'd be happy to add subs to this upload or help anyone capable, passionate and seasoned with translations too.
General to-do: 1. Color correct 2. Stabilize 'n crop 3. Noise/Dust removal 4. Other minor visual touch ups 5. Audio stuff!
Also, a big thanks to EVERYONE who's either helped me, commented on the project, given me pointers, assisted me in my quest to attempt to get some sort of idea where the rights to this thing actually resides (which, sadly, seems to be a friggin' mystery to everyone) -- not to mention; those who've inspired me to tinker with this and spend as much time and money on it as I ultimately have.
But, hey, happy 35th anniversary, ancient Mario movie of the past!

This video compilation of commercials were at the end of the same tape and previously removed from my old upload due to the old length restrictions of YouTube + the fact that at the time, most (if not all) of these commercials were already available on YouTube in so-so-ish quality.Sonic the Hedgehog 2 TV CMCarnivol2017-06-04 | An old Japanese TV commercial for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on MegaDrive / GenesisLegend of Zelda - Links Awakening TV CMCarnivol2017-06-04 | An old TV commercial for The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening for the original Game Boy.Namco - Gals IslandCarnivol2017-06-04 | A NAMCO promotional tape from 1990.Legend of Namco - Namco no DensetsuCarnivol2017-06-04 | A NAMCO promotional tape from 1986.Square Special VideoCarnivol2017-06-04 | Just a test re-upload of something that used to be on my old Google Videos account.M82 - NES DEMO UNITCarnivol2016-02-15 | Received an M82 as a surprise present from the owner of a local toy store.
