There’s a lot of loose ends here, there was so much story that I wasn’t able to fit. All the more reason to read the comic! I’ve currently got the prologue and plan to start chapter 1 soon. The main story takes place after these events. This is definitely the longest animatic I’ve had the patience for, and I’d love to do more! When comics take so long to make it’s kind of refreshing to be able to tell this much story in just 3 minutes. Granted, with some context being left out. But still. Their dynamic and this song has always been a perfect fit. I’m really looking forward to going into more depth about Beck’s struggle with accepting his trans identity because of their relationship, and how these events have caused them both to become enemies. The Truth ~ Rough Warrior Cat OC Animatic/ PMV Sacred Roses 2020-07-08 | Hello! First of all- thank you for 5k!! I'm super excited to share what I have so far for this animatic! I do want to clean up the sketches and add basic color grayscale, but this probably won't be finished all the way, unless I decide to in the future.The story is based on my warrior cats oc comic, Between Darkness & Light. You can read it here: deviantart.com/sacredroses-art/art/Between-Darkness-and-Light-Red-Stars-Cover-805364071 But since it will help, here's a plot summary following what happens in the animatic: Batfang (Redkit's father) sees Red upset and tries to comfort her. She grows up a couple moons (still Redkit), and found a way to escape the nursery to explore the territory. A fox then almost kills her until Batfang saves her, but dies in the process. Batfang's ghost sings as he watches her mourn. Red is not only upset that her dad is dead, but that her injuries are keeping her from being a warrior's apprentice, and has resentment towards Rosestar (Roseclan leader) because of it. Randomly one night a cat shows up called Fluffy, a sphinx who comes from a strange group called the "Junkyard Rogues" across the river (paw symbol). Fluffy explains her way of life, and Red is intrigued. Red is overly trusting of Fluffy, which leads to her to mistakenly aiding the Junkyard and their plans to attack Roseclan. The two sides fight, and though she feels betrayed she is torn between which side she is on. She protects a JY cat, Rust, from Rosestar's strike. Rose is confused, and feels bad but Red resents her still for almost killing Rust. Red doesn't know where to go, feeling like she doesn't belong anywhere. Red eventually ends up going to the JY to save a kit (Greykit) who was kitnapped. She finds the kit's father, Moonlight, who also is there wanted to save her. Fluffy ends up turning on Red once again, and forces both Moonlight, Red, & Greykit to stay at the JY. Meanwhile, Leopardheart (Moonlight's mate) is waiting for them. Time passes, Red actually starts to like the JY cats, because many of them are actually kind, & friendly. Rosestar sneaks in to their camp with her plan set fire to the place, still thinking the JY cats are cruel. She murders Fluffy, and offers Red a home back in Roseclan again. She refuses, and watches as Greykit & Moonlight are reunited with Leopardheart, & watches them leave w/ Rose. Meanwhile, with Fluffy dead she decides to become the next Guide (leader, basically) for the JY, and leads them to safety as the fire spreads. But she is still pissed, thinking about the innocent cats who lost their home just because Fluffy was in the wrong. She decides to give Rosestar a taste of her own medicine, and takes the fire and burns Roseclan camp. She tells Rust to warn Roseclan members ahead of time though, to make sure Greykit doesn't get harmed. Rosestar is unexpectedly there behind Red as she thinks about her father, and misses him. Rose, pissed at what she did, attacks her and they fight, leading to Red being extremely wounded. Greykit appears, extremely upset. Seeing Grey cry, Rose realizes what a huge mistake she made. They both bring her to Moonwaters, where her fate is left unknown. That's it! I didn't explain the very end but feel free to theorize, I don't want to give everything away. Also, there are some things I left out and changed a little in order for it to work for the video.
