Kits World | 8 Books That Made Me Cry (Spoilers) | BookTube | Kit's World @kitsworld | Uploaded June 2021 | Updated October 2024, 2 minutes ago.
So, I thought I'd put together a list of Books That Made Me Cry. Because I like crying at books. Sometimes. These books popped into my head in no particular order, and I have since thought of others which I should have included. Maybe I'll do a sequel.
I filmed this video on the grounds of the beautiful Newstead Abbey, where I spent a couple of joyous sunny days taking in spectacular views of the lake, where swans and ducks swim sedately with their baby signets and ducklings; and in the lush, exquisitely pretty Japanese Gardens where I enjoyed the richly diverse flora and some attractive waterfalls and streams.
This list is by no means comprehensive, nor is it particularly well organised, and for that I apologise. It is not a ranking list either. Also...
I CAN'T COUNT! I know, I put a title on this that says 8 books, not 10, and I filmed the whole thing thinking I was discussing 8 books. I'm a moron. Move on!
It does, however, contain SPOILERS. I made no effort to hold back on any information, and in most cases blatantly described the endings of the books. For the purposes of the subject matter, and because none of the books listed are particularly new, I felt justified in describing the parts that made me cry.
The Books Listed Are:
Tarka The Otter - Henry Williamson. (1927)
Ring of Bright Water - Gavin Maxwell. (1960)
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - C.S. Lewis. (1950)
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - C.S. Lewis. (1952)
Watership Down - Richard Adams. (1972)
The Plague Dogs - Richard Adams. (1977)
Born Free - Joy Adamson. (1960)
The Singing Tree - Brian Parvin. (1985)
Assassin's Apprentice - Robin Hobb. (1995)
Fool's Errand - Robin Hobb. (2001)
