Over 2.5 years since my previous PB. Felt nice.
Got back into this category for a couple weeks, and after like a week straight of getting around 2:40 flat I managed to get this PB. Solid start until I made some poor decisions in King Bulblin phase 1 and then just didn't start running on phase 2. Also somehow failed the goron cutscene escape entering death mountain. The end was solid though, and was glad to PB by enough to get down to a 2:38. My goal when I got my 2:39 was 2:37, maybe 2:36. It's looking like 2:37 should be reasonable enough, and will see how I'm feeling for 2:36. Trying to be a little more flowy and go where motivation takes me, so I probably won't stay playing just this category for an extended period. For now I'm still enjoying it though.

This run was my Losers Round 1 race of the Wolfdash 4 Main Bracket/Top 16 against TheGuyDownstairs (see the restreamed version of it here youtube.com/live/eU1hoHWjKCs)
My mindset during this was interesting. i wasn't watching TGD at all until quickly checking where we were at while entering Arbiters, but I was pretty sure I'd be ahead given I was playing pretty well. Was disappointed to miss gorge void, but was playing really well all through Eldin apart from that so felt good.
Once I got through Lakebed decently though, and got a string of golds, I starting thinking about PBing for real instead of just focusing on playing as well as I could to win the race, especially knowing I had a minute and a half to save on spinner. Interestingly, after that being so far ahead started to psych me out, was thinking too much about PBing and thinking way far ahead, imagining what times I could get if I played well in the endgame.
Spoilers, I did not play well in the endgame.
After I started making mistakes I tried to go back to just thinking about the race since that's what mattered, but I was so far ahead that it didn't actually help me and made me play a bit too casually, so I had to reel it back and keep trying to focys properly, and I'm glad I didn't throw so much that the PB was no longer possible, but Zelda definitely helped with that.
Some of the timelosses in endgame were pretty hilarious though. Got knocked into a weird ledge grab on a falling block in the first room of city, failed the fan room quick cycle in two spots, and then in palace got hit by squeebles on the way down with the sol and jumped down without it... leaving me waiting forever for the hand to come and grab it for me.
But hey, PB'd in a race, which meant I won, and that means I met my goal for wolfdash which was to make top 12 :) Did so via the last chance pool, was a close one.
It's also satisfying because I wouldn't have been doing more proper PB attempts yet while working through segments to improve, so it's only because of the race that I gave myself a PB opportunity at all.

Wolfdash 4, the Twilight Princess Any% tournament, has returned. I wasn't even going to enter, but with all the hype and activity around it I was getting huge fomo so signed up last minute and decided to rapidly learn the new route specifically to enter and to get back into any% a bit.
And damn, I've been loving it.
Picking up the major new stuff wasn't as difficult as I was anticipating, though I also intentionally left a few things out for efficiency's sake. But much quicker than I was expecting, I found myself on *real* PB paces at the start. This run was practically tied with my old PB (which was on the BiTE Zora Armour route) leaving Arbiters, and I knew a 57 Arb time was comfortable for a first sub 3, but of course remembered my PB where I managed to throw *just enough*. In my mind I knew all I needed was to hold it together decently and I should manage it, but I wasn't expecting to play an actually good endgame by my standards and close out not just a 59, but a 2:57 for my first sub 3 :)
Wasn't without meltdowns, like failing bombhouse skip and completely falling apart in the spinner segment, but all in all I was very happy with this, and it felt pretty amazing finally (and very comfortably) getting one of the things I'd been aiming for and trying so hard for when I was last playing this category and completely burned myself out from it. Feels pretty cool to be genuinely excited to play, and genuinely liking Any%. I think it was Nimzo or Beest (can't remember) who said they'd never thought they'd see the day that I was voluntarily playing Any% :')
I did this run offline quite late at night, but turned on the stream entering Hyrule Castle to be able to share the moment with people. That ending is here twitch.tv/videos/2179270716
Looking forward to slowly working through any% a bit more, though probably not super actively. Hoping to keep up the hype.

Some of the info in the video in text form:
Yes/No saving: ~20f
Cursor movement: ~10f
Optimal console reset vs. controller combo: ~12f
The more memory cards the better. For Any% gorge route:
2 cards - ~1s
3 cards - ~2s
4 cards - ~2.5s
5 cards - ~3.5s
8 cards - ~4s
10 cards - ~4.5s
However this doesn't account for blank slots making console resets easier, so it also unlocks that timesave for each savewarp reset as well.
Using a second setup to wipe the memory cards can make 3 memory cards usable for the full timesave from having 10 or more. I forgot to mention in the video, but there was a vote many years ago about allowing the use of a second setup to set EBF during the master sword cutscene, but this was banned. That is *not the same* as this. This second setup is also how I made grinding lakebed ILs more bearable since literally the first thing you do is savewarp lol and clearing the file every time is so annoying.
You can see this in effect in my GM RTA pb here: youtu.be/AWQi9vg_oOQ?si=BqVcMyKdPzo5yIBg&t=1478
or in any IL that has a savewarp, like my Lakebed IL here: youtu.be/SppSNxqFuvA?si=9M2yS1KclxebLRvV
Something else I forgot to mention: I intentionally never did this because it's a weird thing to add to the meta and I didn't want to be the one to start it. One thing I really like about it though is the ability to have non-blank files as the unused files during the run. You can see in my GM RTA PB I have File 1 as "Simikins" and file 3 as "GM RTA". I really like this as a way to 'sign' the runs to make it more personalised and harder to steal.
The point of this video is only to show what is possible with all vanilla gear.
That's all I can think of rn, if I remember anything else I'll edit the description or add comments.
Over the last year or so beest, jeez and I developed a lot of faster strats for the cave of ordeals IL on gamecube, so I just applied most of them here.
A few HD differences did trip me up a bit though. Aiming down from the ledges with gyro is very awkward, and movement while/after shooting the bow feels more restricted so that gave me some trouble. Leevers also move differently in HD. Gamepad equips are pretty cool but I didn't fully keep on top of them, but given no pausing is required I tried to have iron boots on when I could remember.
I skipped the stamp chests which makes this Any% specifically

Choked many runs at various points including a handful on the final throws on phase 2 of blizzeta, and even had a 2nd try ladder freezard skip and a missed B&C throw on blizzeta in this run, but it was good enough for sub 7 so I'll leave it there for now.

This IL can be significantly faster with backslice moonboots key shard skip, like what Gamecube does, but I wanted to do 'normal' runs first. We'll see if I or anyone else feels like implementing moonboots sooner or later.

Strangely, I thought this was unverifiable because I had desktop audio on by accident and my local recording had no game sound, just the music I was listening to. But then when uploading, it had game sound and no music?? Idk how audio channels work lol
After tying Forest Temple I figured this would be a fun one to try next. I didn't find it very fun for the first few attempts, but got into a groove and managed this pretty quick which I was pleased with. Could of course go lower but I don't care to grind much. Annoyed about the missed bomb arrow shot, and it's pretty funny that this is the run where I completely failed the force unequip for the morpheel regrab (it wouldn't let me pick up the item with my thumb!!!) but managed to do it on the second try.

Had been playing TPHD casually for the first time this past week, but got a bit bored and wanted to try some speed so I did Forest Temple, and quite enjoyed it. There's lots that feels very different about HD but it's still fun. At first I didn't think I could get close to their 11:14 WRs, but as I was getting more consistent and figured out the menuing a bit better it became more realistic. Had a few that could've tied or come out a second ahead but choked them all, and this is the one that went the distance without falling apart (though I'm still annoyed about the terribly slow boss key puzzle)
I had a 1.5s advantage by playing on German, but I spent the very boring time to time all the languages so I deserve it :p
Happy with the tie, if one of them unties I might try this some more but I'd like to experiment with more dungeons now.

At the start of the year I got an interest in running this IL after beest ran it with his 100% experience. I worked on a bunch of strats (youtube.com/watch?v=U34ue9G7hEQ&list=PLOK9Ldn-nPMGvKYzTG_E9QGk6Tllx6TrG) and did runs for a little while but never got fully into it, and decided I didn't want to go for sub 20 in the end, just hoping that beest would get it (he did, but mostly without my strats lol).
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and jeez started running it, working his way to a sub 20 of his own a few days ago. In it he had a much more efficient strat for the triple darknuts on the final floor, utilising greatspin on all three darknuts at once when their armour was gone. This inspired me to at least improve my PB a bit, and maybe go for the sub 20.
This idea was improved upon in recent days by beest and jeez, and using all these strats (albeit messily) surprised myself with this run. Can definitely be lowered a lot, and I expect Jeez will be giving it a go, but I'm still pleased to get sub 20 and add my name to the list of those who've improved the record :)

Overall the run was just very solid. No meltdowns, and nothing particularly special either. I still saved for Coro Text Displacement, which I'll stop doing now as losing a minute there realistically kills PB chances. Because of how annoyingly bad my 1:17 was, I hadn't been practicing much and was just doing attempts whenever I could fit them in. With this I'll be a bit more responsible now and get back into training mode to iron out the kinks that still remain. A 1:15 is definitely reasonable, even without implementing some stupid strats, so I'll give it a go and see where I get.

Twilight Princess has been in a great state recently, in part due to the exciting injection of a new Any% route. From this I felt reinspired to do runs again myself, and due to not feeling I have the time to learn much new stuff at the moment, or go right ahead into a three hour run, a week or so ago I decided to mess around with AFS just to get back into the game a bit. AFS was always one of my least-optimised PBs that needed revisiting (in fact when I got it I said I'd beat it in a couple weeks after I'd finished moving... better late than never right), so as the untidy process of scraping off the rust went on it became more clear that PBing was a real possibility, and soon. I got a bit attached to this, which definitely affected my mindset with just getting on with playing the game again, and meant it was quite disappointing ending up 2s behind my PB last week. This run was also terrible, but it's my first non-IL PB in over a year and a half, and my first PB with 1440p upscaling, proper splits, input display, all that jazz.
The run itself was pretty rough, and came after a couple hour session of poor attempts that never made it to Coro. and I at multiple points wanted to just stop playing. Up to iron boots was fine but not good, and castle was going great until I voided. This started a pattern of weird mistakes and timelosses, such as getting two blues (that I didn't need) from the grass before hugo, failing to jump attack to skull kid for the final hit and wasting the puppets instead, missing the nut throw on the spider in forest temple, deciding to get the Eldin vessel as human despite always doing the fight as wolf and so failing, missing wolf bombhouse skip by just not dashing, failing quick pulls on the stone slab in mines, missing the outside LJA heading to the boss room.... along with smaller things of course.
There were positives though, otherwise this could never have PB'd at all. The biggest were a stellar king bulblin 1 fight despite messing up my spin strat completely, a first try coro text displacement, a strong Clawshot split, then ending with a great gold in lakebed with a 1 bomb Morpheel and the fastest death cutscene I've ever seen.
Overall I'm happy to have PB'd again finally, and am looking forward to getting more into runs as a whole.

I've been getting a lot better at the first room, which isn't surprising given almost every attempt resets to kitty jump. It can also feel annoying, since it means I get to fail the boost more often in any given session.
This time I didn't fail it though!
The failed sideroll afterwards hurts me.
Good magnet activations each time, thought I failed the second one.
Was a tad nervous coming to the next wolf gate clip, as I used to feel very confident with it... until it killed multiple runs in a row. While slow, getting through without the tektites harassing me was good enough.
Really, the big things that matter in this run are:
- the moonboots bomb boost
- Dangoro
- Beamos moonboots
So this was just another run to Dangoro, and thankfully I managed the two cycle, and then he granted me a fast third hit.
So this was just another run to the Beamos moonboots.
Hesitated a little on the sidehop lineup (I've gone straight past the beamos before, was scared), but managed to get the frame and get past.
So this was just another run to the second Beamos moonboots.
...
and I'm still yet to get a PB with first try both ways :(
The moment I saw the late frame my heart started pounding, but I managed it second try and just had to not choke to finish out what I knew would be a PB.
Got the LJA over the water barely, had decent movement, and then an okay shot at the rope bridge got me through to where I could try and catch my breath.
The last run I got to Fyrus I choked on the final shot, but this fight went okay.
I thought around this time would be satisfying enough to move on, and I'm still unsure, but missing the moonboots at the end really bothers me. Sub 9:30 is possible but I'm not aiming for that.

Edit - New PB (9:35): youtu.be/kF751qlAArg
In my previous runs I had been starting from a save outside the dungeon in order to preemptively move the cursor over magic armour for the moonboots bomb boost. This saves a fraction of a second (and makes the inputs a little simpler since you don't have to navigate the menu) but takes an extra ~13s per reset. Decided that wasn't worth it and opted to just give myself quicker resets to make grinding more enjoyable. Made me feel better about reimplementing pipe jump as well.
The first room was very good, with a fast pipe jump, quick LJA aim, and a nearly instant wolf gate clip. Got the moonboots boost first try (which is a requirement for me to PB now anyway) but setting it up was very quick. Strangely, until now I'd been using a metronome at 144 BPM for all my attempts at the trick (and by now I'd done it over at least over 50 times), but last night I couldn't get the trick to save my life. Changing the BPM to 140 today made things a bit better again, which makes very little sense to me given I'd calculated 144 as the ideal beat from lots of recordings of the trick, but it's as if I'd gone out of sync with it and needed the adjustment. I'll stick with 140 for now I guess.
Everything was very nice after that, right up to Dangoro where I did a new setupless Dangoro 2 cycle, but with shield bash instead of gale. Saves a tiny bit of extra time it seems, fraction of a second. Simpler though!
Unfortunately he bounced out of range of my spin attacks for the quick third hit, costing about five seconds, but there's not much to do about that.
In the next room I'm yet to get the moonboots beamos skip first try both ways, which means simply shooting them would be faster... oh well.
Bad aim for the LJA (which I abandoned, probably could've still done it but just jumped off in the moment) and final bridge soured the ending of what was otherwise a good run (aside from the two ~5s mistakes on Dangoro and the beamos).
I thought all I wanted for now was sub 9m50s, but now I want sub 9m40... it's a tough run.

I thought after my 5:43 it'd be time for small optimisations, but since then a couple new things were found to save a whole lot more.
First, chrisisawesome found you can do a jumpslash bomb boost to get past the turning bridge, instead of the jumpstrike moonboots bomb boost. This is very difficult, and though alone doesn't save a whole lot since you pull the bomb as early as possible in both boosts, it removes lots of pauses.
This also led to the discovery that the fence is a little shorter on the right side, so you can jumpstrike up without moonboots. These combined mean iron boots aren't required after the first moonboots to get the big key, saving some more pauses and equips!
Second, and most significant, was Jeez much faster Diababa phase 1, by doing an LJA to the bombling. By throwing bombs from the logs, waiting for the heads is no longer necessary, saving a huge amount of time.
This run itself had a bit of slop, with some slow aim and failed equips (and a random bomb toss lol) but I got everything important first try (as well as a cute quick death at the big key) which meant a huge PB.
This also came only a handful of attempts after getting a 5:37 WR tie, but with a second try bomb boost :x
There's more time to save with aim, 1 hand grabs, an unbuffered bomb boost, and little movement cleanups, but all I wanted was a decent run and this is that.

Missed the first bow shot again lol, but that's probably one of the bigger timesaves now. Next would be unbuffered jumpstrikes (scary), pulling bombs earlier for the boosts... and idk, faster aim? German saves two frames as well lol.
Clipping or boosting back out from the big key would be a significant timesave over dying as well, don't know if it's possible though.

Took everything pretty safe as I just wanted to finish a run with the death warp. Started with enough health to have two attempts at the first bomb boost.
Missed the first bow shot, buffered a lot, failed the moonboots jumpstrike onto the fence, and messed up an equip. Sub 6 comfortably with no major mistakes, beyond that becomes optimisation station.

With the discovery of some crazy moonboots bomb boosts by pokemongenius, it became possible for an IL run to completely skip the boomerang. It's hard, but a lot faster. This run has many mistakes, and is my third full completion (previous two were 8:06 and 6:55), but still blows gale runs out of the water.
Prepped this file a couple days ago, and implemented a few optimisations that Jeez didn't do, so despite my mistakes I still barely beat it out. Glad to have gotten the 'real' WR as well as a leaderboard verifiable run, and I hope Jeez takes these improvements and implements them himself too!
Main timelosses were spiders and failing the first bomb boost, but beyond that there's still time to be saved by doing unbuffered jumpstrikes (scaryy) and faster aim/less hesitation. Not to mention better luck. German saves 2f over Japanese on the boss key textbox, and I'd actually prepped a PAL file a week ago or so, but realised the file was possible without map glitch, so did it for the style points. That counts for something right?
Obviously I'll beat this again, there's a lot wrong with it, but I don't know when that'll be so I'm uploading this so the leaderboard can finally have a galeless run.

Twilight Princess has two distinct glitchless rulesets: バグ無し (JP Glitchless) which used to be called Bug-Limit and is the original Japanese ruleset, and a new western Glitchless category with a few different rules. This run follows the Japanese ruleset, which allows bomb boosts but doesn't allow savewarping.
Mainly did this to set a benchmark for the dungeon with glitchless strats, as well as to start a conversation about glitchless ILs. This file has an extra bomb bag to save time on equips. Backslice may also be useful to skip the bomb boost, though I didn't have any hidden skills on this file.

Very very bad.
Since Adam came up with this route using Coro text displacement to get into mines, there've been two new timesaves found:
- Clipping behind the Gorons instead of reloading the room (s/o Demon)
- Gate clip in mines as Wolf (s/o pokemongenius)
Together these amount to about a minute of timesave.
This run actually had a pretty nice start. Third try gate clip is slow, but goats were good and Bo was perfect, which gave a perfectly reasonable 7m12s boots. Castle, S&S skip and Faron Twilight/EMS were all very clean, making the pace quite good... until I just jumped right past Skull Kid.
Mad.
Failed BiT once, and no spider skip. Mad.
Getting to Eldin was actually good, with the Midna text skip and good luck on King Bulblin, but Eldin is where things really came apart.
Bad basement bugs, mad. I have annoying muscle memory there, where if I kill the last bug with a B attack I always press start. Missed the tear twice in hotel, whatever.
Bombhouse skip though... oooooh boy. Timed my sidehops badly so didn't get onto the railing with my jump attacks... twice... so because I was mad :) I tried the sidehop method, which I failed.
Run sucked so I didn't save for TD, which I got, woo.
Everything after that was just really sloppy, all through Mines and Forest Temple. In Lakebed I missed Deku Toad's tongue completely, because I aimed in first person. I'd never had issues with just targeting for the shot, until the day before this run, so I switched to c-up and just straight missed lol. Mad.
Failed BK skip once, Mad.
3 Bomb Morpheel. Mad.
Between my previous PB and this one I had an invalid 1h18m49s run that I did TA because of an interruption partway through, and thankfully I at least beat that run, but that's about the only positive to this run for me; Having a valid PB.
Not running for a while so this'll have to remain, but a 1h16m time would be actually acceptable when I come back to this.
Also German is fastest for this category, but I ran in Japanese because my Swiss memory card corrupted and I refuse to play in 480i.

Goron Mines RTA is my favourite category, and yet because of always being caught up with other goals or not having time for the game, I haven't run it since November of 2019, when the record stood at 59m35s. Since then a few new timesaves were found/figured out:
- Sidehopping past the rolling Gorons to avoid taking damage (s/o Taka)
- Skipping the Goron elevator cutscene and simply talking to him from behind to move him (s/o Asxce), which led to a faster warp point within the mine entrance (s/o Skyreon)
- An early third hit on Dangoro (myself)
- and most significantly, crystal gate clip as wolf (s/o PokemonGenius)
All in all these save about 40 seconds or more, and my run from 2019 had a very poor start, so I was aiming for a 57, and then maybe a 56. Skyreon had already lowered his time down to a 57m29s time, which was then beaten by just two seconds by Demon, so it was clear 57 and 56 could be within reach.
Apart from checking for directions to Forest Temple the start was very good. 19s goats followed by a nearly flawless castle (aside from a hesitation after the first text skip I have nothing to complain about) put me on a very nice pace to Hugo.
He gave me some resistance, and I probably could've gone a swing sooner than I did, but my confidence with the slide method isn't as high as without. So, a few seconds there, but that's par for the course.
Faron Twilight I was very happy with. Aside from not attempting Faron Spirit text skip, and getting three fast swings at EMS (which cost almost 10s...), I have no complaints.
In grove I lost a few seconds to failing the quick climb before skull kid, but otherwise it all amounted to very comfortable pace at Master Sword.
A 1 frame backflip after clearing the twilight skips Midna's text, a nice bonus. For safety, I fully unplug the controller for bridge BiT, as I'm terrible at doing the bridge hang manually, and didn't yet feel confident enough in my regular strat of jump attacking off the bridge.
In my 57 pb (which happened only a few hours before this one) King Bulblin was atrocious. Mostly due to my poor spur management, but also from bad luck. In this run I saved nearly all 40s I'd lost, with practically perfect KB rng, losing just a few seconds to outrunning him a couple times. Again, an extremely comfortable pace at Eldin Vessel, just over a minute ahead.
From here is where my 57 was good, so I thought I'd bleed time and maybe catch a high 56 or a low 57, but the pace didn't relent.
A 6m45s Eldin, my best ever (which I was glad to finally get, I've felt overdue for sub 6m50s, let alone sub 7 Eldin's for too long) put me even further ahead at what is practically the halfway point of the run.
Then came the calm back and forth that is getting into Goron Mines. I'd been hiding my splits for some time since I knew the pace was good and that I'd get nervous, and while that definitely helped somewhat, I was still a bit shaky. This showed itself in the form of two hits taken from Gorons while ascending the mountain, and bonking on the stairs up to the hidey-warp-spot. A few painful seconds but in truth they helped calm my nerves.
Bo was something I was also slightly anxious about, as in my previous runs in the last couple days I had extremely poor mashing. Luckily in the second phase he didn't punish me for failing to push him out fully. Slaps lost me about 6s, but that's still a very good Bo, especially in a category like this where he's past halfway.
Early elevator was solid, and entering mines I knew I was on 56 pace.
The first room was very clean, in the second I made the early platform cycle, and in the third I had only one extra roll to clip the slab.
The wolf gate clip wasn't great, but I beat the Tektites which is what's important. Heading into KSS I felt the nerves, and let out a laugh when I got it first try (and then my stomach lurched when I almost hit the wall when jumpslashing down). Dangoro was very clean, and from there is where things got sloppy due to nervousness.
In the end though, I made it through unscathed, laughing nervously at every room I passed without choking, and finished with a far better time than I was expecting.

My first PB in this category since November of 2019 :') Also my first run using my Japanese disc!
Previous run (59:35): youtube.com/watch?v=HuXVT82eL90
Being basically a 'derust' PB, this run is bad. For a bad run, it definitely had it's moments though.
Third try gate clip and generally poor rolling left me with a slow cage break to start, though goats were alright. Castle was abysmal, missing a text skip and voiding on the rooftops.
Faron Twilight was pretty good except for the gate clip, which I probably just shouldn't do, and EMS. Four bad swings is a fun way to lose time.
Grove was fine until I tried to react too early and scared skull kid. Silly mistakes like this are a bit of a theme. No backflip text skip is a few seconds lost, and I unplugged for bridge BiT because I suck at doing it manually. Need to get back into practice for jump attacking off.
Then here is where surprisingly good parts start.
King Bulblin was very good, probably one of my best fights considering he steered left after the first three hits.
Eldin Twilight was also pretty good. Not without mistakes but I'll take a 6:52 when I'm rusty for sure.
Movement up to Goron Mines wasn't too hot but the new warp spot made up for it a little.
Boots though... I forgot to practice mashing! Didn't get very good luck anyway but could've been better if I could actually push Bo. Oh well.
Had a scare during early elevator, thought I'd clipped out the other side as wolf but my camera had just gotten messed up, took it slow.
Mines in my old PB was pretty good, but the new wolf gate clip I knew would give me some leeway.
Movement overall was pretty sloppy but fine. Can't expect perfection at this point. Lost about 20 seconds on the wolf gate clip unfortunately, still getting the hang of it.
Heading into key shard skip I knew if I got it quickly I had a chance at a real PB, but was fine with losing a big chunk and just completing a run for practice's sake.
Got it first try.
This was the first point in the run I felt any kind of nervousness, as I knew a real PB was on the cards, and a decent but not-great ending gave me the 58 :)
Hoping to push for a 57 pretty quickly, then more focused practice towards a 56, but we'll see how that goes.
Feels great to be running this category again!

Master Sword RTA is a category I have a lot of attachment to, first because of the little back and forth Kejs and I had with it, but also because (and we've both said) it's a category short enough that getting 'the run' feels more within reach. This is not 'the run,' but the prospect of potentially achieving that led me to implementing new and unique strats for this run that seriously increase the level of optimisation potential, and will hopefully inspire others to implement them into regular runs (as I know I will).
The first faster strat I implemented for the first time recently can be seen at the very start. After a very fast gate clip, I didn't bother with a sidehop like normal, but just jumped off the bridge and did BiT with a console reset. This is something Kejs mentioned thinking of doing for this category but that I didn't take seriously until recently. At first this gave me a lot of trouble, as when testing for the frame I was using dolphin, and turns out the reset feature built into dolphin is wildly inaccurate to console. The real timing in fact feels identical to BiT on the Wii version, and after realising that things became much easier. This saves around a second over sidehop BiT.
Solid rolls through Faron, combined with this faster BiT method, left me with a 3 52 cage break, a milestone I hadn't broken until recently.
Goats have historically given me a lot of trouble in MS RTA runs, where any good run I had couldn't get under 20s, but here I managed an 18, putting me on my second best ever pace past goats.
Castle was another place for optimisation. Unfortunately I missed several 1 frame Midna jumps, so overall the castle segment was poor, but they were offset a little by small things: Talking to Midna in the sewers from outside her cutscene trigger range (Thanks for that Hab, saves a bit under half a second), and jump attacking up the broken battlements on the castle rooftops, to skip climbing the ledge.
Hugo didn't play nice for S&S skip, and I was a little hesitant after his resistance to the pushes, so lost several seconds there. Sadly, between castle and Hugo, I'd bled almost all of my 4s lead, and entered Faron Twilight only half a second ahead of my 18 43, but that's just how TP is.
The next new implementation is the gate clip in Faron Twilight, which when done well can save 1-2s over digging, and has the bonus of removing a 1 frame dash from the run. This is not a new trick, and has been known to be possible for many years (I first saw it from a casual player in TPHD: clips.twitch.tv/HappyEasyLion4Head, then again in an older clip from Skyreon: twitch.tv/skyreon/clip/MotionlessPreciousPuppyBibleThump), but I guess anyone who tried deemed it infeasible to do consistently enough to save time. For me, the trick was doing it from the opposite orientation to normal gate clips, though I waste some time with a C-up lineup for consistency's sake.
The rest of the segment was very nice, getting the remaining two 1 frames before approaching the shadow beast for EMS.
Optimisation time again! This faster EMS position has been known again for many many years, but almost nobody attempts it RTA. I've been practiced at it for way too long, but this is the first PB (aside from a random MS No S+Q run lol) where I've done it. Unfortunately you need Jamal to be pretty close to the wall for it to work, so I can only go for it maybe half the time. A fast swing cost me a couple seconds, which is a shame as without that this could've been the sub 18 40, and that would've also been a gold segment, but you can't have everything! My 18 51 lost the sub 18 50 to a fast swing as well... sigh.
Sacred Grove was very clean, despite signs of nerves, so I'm happy to have squeezed out this PB. Still improvable, but it's finally a run that includes all the strats I wanted to implement. I'll leave sub 18 40 for another day, and for now be content :)
Also props to SwiftIke for getting the first sub 18 50, a very nice 18 46, and getting me into high enough gear to really push for these improvements.

Solid run!
Good rolls up to cage, but had kinda messy pushes. Still was my best push so far. Sub 20 goats, into a solid castle, though I missed quite a few 1f jumps, so a few seconds to save there.
Got hit at the very end of castle, and luckily I had enough health to survive, but 1/4 for S&S skip at EMS was worrying...
Until I was blessed by a fairy :)
Hugo swung a bit so was a bit slow, but not bad at all.
Comfortably got to EMS, got it first try (unlike my previous pb, so I saved a good 22s here...), and coasted through to the end.
Still lots to improve, but I'm happy with this for now. I did this category mainly for the purpose of learning Bokoblin pushing, and I've gotten so much better at it. My initial goal was also sub 21, which I had before this by 1s, but having a 20s timesave on a single trick in a pb just won't do.

Baby's first Bokoblin push.
Because of recent discussion about different methods of killing the Bokoblins, and watching Demon do No S+Q, I decided to try learning Boko pushing, and figured doing this short category would be a good place to start given I already know how to do everything else after cage break.
Pretty terrible of course, but I'm still happy because this was my first time doing the boko push in full sequence (in the past I've had to save and quit to refill my health while testing stuff, obviously not allowed here lol).
Definitely have more respect for the people who are good at this now!

Also the first to utilise the ice boost in Snowpeak, which done perfectly is the fastest method of beating the dungeon when using Rusl Text Displacement.
All Dungeons has been having a bit of a revolution recently, first with the discovery of Ice Boost, which would make the theoretical route that uses text displacement from Rusl faster than the traditional route that uses spinner to enter Goron Mines (Shown in Demon's 3:40:11, which I'd bet will be the last AD WR to use it, a route that lasted many many years).
Ice boost was mostly deemed non-viable, and a couple small optimisations were found to slightly improve that old route, one being Adam's AG Ooccoo idea, and Zach realising you can use EBF on phantom Zant by not skipping the cutscene at all.
Then Ekke/Dragonbane found that you could do ToT before City by doing early City as human (a very very old trick) then leaving and talking to shad to make him leave, thus allowing you to warp the cannon with Midna, skipping the main requirement for map glitch.
Lots of crazy ideas later, and this is the route. Or at least how I did the current route idea. It's bound to change. Early-Eldin-Text-Displacement-Ice-Boost-Map-Warp-Skipping-AD.
I haven't been able to play much in the last couple months, and was feeling bitter about all the crazy progress TP was having while I had to watch from the sidelines, so I decided to abandon my normal preparation standards and do a mostly-unprepared run, while I have the chance.
It was worse than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty bad.
Terrible start to Bo, missed S&S skip, average/bad everything up to snowpeak where I failed snowboarding at the very end, then because I hadn't practiced it much, I lost 12+ minutes to the ice boost I was so proud of being able to do. Whatever.
It had also been over a year and a half since I last fought Morpheel without Zora Armour in a run, and it showed. Goodbye 17 minutes.
After that I'd frequently stop to talk with people in chat, take breaks, and check the route/ZSR/people's runs for reference, making this run more of a first stroll through the route, but one that was done in a single sitting and that I'll still call my first All Dungeons run.
I was extremely tired by the end of it, but glad that I didn't decide to just quit (I was very close).
Anyway, I'd of course like to beat this, the fact I didn't even manage sub 5 is frankly embarrassing, but who knows, maybe I'll get caught up doing other stuff and not be able to do longer runs. Wouldn't it be funny if this stood as my AD PB for some time.

Back in Time Equipped Zora Armour route. Haha.
Previous PB (3h0m49s): youtu.be/CmvBcBvPu9s
I'm good at throwing.
Run wasn't anything special up to Arbiters, had some good segments and some small disasters (sketchiest escort of my life, final poe...), but still had a comfy arb time of 2h57m30s, which should allow for the easiest first sub 3 ever. But no.
Failed early city and aeralfos skip once each (the latter has been giving me a lot of trouble lately), but was still doing fine until I managed to lose almost a minute and a half in palace second wing. First I got hit by a keese, ok whatever, but the different platform cycle threw me off a lot, and once I felt myself starting to throw I just had to let it all go.
Funnily enough, even with a very sloppy finish to the dungeon, and a bad Hyrule, and a bad Zelda, it still could've been sub 3, albeit a bad one.
But I just had to miss beast Ganon.
Still could've been sub 3.
Just had to miss a horseback shot.
Funnier this way though.

More any% woo
This run had an insane start up to master sword, then some small mistakes (lighting torches is hard ok)... then some big mistakes. Funniest moments were probably dying to the ice waterfall, and the magic disappearing act of Stallord.
Arbiters was super scary because of getting shot before, and not having quite enough rupees.

Had been practicing any% again for Wolfdash, the TP tournament (smash.gg/tournament/wolfdash-3/event/any/brackets/891893/1424898), and while I still wasn't feeling quite up to PB attempts yet, I did this run the day before I had to leave for a couple weeks. Did some safe strats because I hadn't brushed up on everything, but the run was pretty decent up through Arbiters. It's now been a week since I did it so I don't remember everything, however I recall having at least one sizeable annoying thing in each segment (failing a shadow beast fight in Eldin for example) save for a few.
Splits image: imgur.com/a/RPcdbR7
I left Arbiters at 1h57m57s, which is very comfy pace for a first sub 3, however in City I failed Aeralfos skip three times (the second time was less my fault than the other two) and after that had a really hard time keeping my concentration. After that there were many dumb mistakes that I honestly didn't care about, such as falling in the first wing of palace (which I swear to you, I never do), missing Beast Ganon with the B&C, etc. etc.
I don't remember much but I'll be rewatching this run at some point to analyse it properly, but until then, yeah. Woo, new pb, was very disappointing but whatever.
Also I was using splits, but comparing to sum of best, and found I quite enjoyed it.

Spent a lot of time practicing and working on my strats for this IL, which I decided to do as practice towards doing Any%. For that reason I didn't get the fishing rod, as I don't care to try rod duping for 5-10 more seconds or however much it saves (check out that strat here: youtu.be/o6yLlSkznTc). The Argarok two cycle is sick though, of course I had to do that.
The things I did for this IL file.
I generally feel that people should make their own files for ILs, without cheats. I also like optimising my files for ease of use, and 'style'. I made preparing this IL file a lot harder for myself than it needed to be, because when timing the amount of time spent in cutscenes, I calculated it'd be barely possible to make it through the run with magic armour if I had the largest wallet, completely full. I also only wanted to get the items required to beat the dungeon. This meant getting all the golden bugs, including the ones in grove, without the bow... which I thought would mean doing the TAS puppet superjump (which I almost got, very sad) but eventually abandoned, and did a rupee slide instead: youtu.be/x8K3Rpj8nk4
It was only after finishing the file completely and doing test runs, that I realised I forgot to account for the magic armour shielding from intentional damage. Adding that huge drain onto the two rupees per second that it normally uses ruined any hope for beating the dungeon with magic armour. I used the file with it anyway because I didn't wanna throw away all that effort.
As for the run itself, I worked on implementing some strats I hadn't normally done, such as riding the spinner off the edge to the first bridge, killing the baba with the spinner at the second bridge (I missed the 'proper' kill this run, but got lucky that it slithered to the spinner hitbox anyway), killing the dynalfos with clawshot, and jumpslashing down to the aeralfos. The dynalfos clawshot strat in particular is pretty minor unless you get the 1 frame roll during the door transition to get their attention early, but I didn't get it this run. Almost forgot about transforming wolf early in the first room, that saves a bit over a second done well, and is viable in ILs because you can just reset instantly if you miss, whereas in Any% it'd be a gargantuan risk.
Before even beginning attempts, I was thinking sub 15 should be doable with a really good one, just from seeing Devil's 15m13s run, which he got without the fast fan room cycle and newer strats, and with some small mistakes. I got pretty lucky early-ish into my attempt sessions, getting a 15m08s run at the end of my first session of heavy-reset attempts. This run felt very good when I did it (I was so nervous going into the Argorok fight), and I doubted if I'd be someone able to get sub 15. I knew I could pb by a few more seconds at least, so I kept grinding attempts every day or two... and I couldn't pb for my life. As seems normal with TP, I managed to kill good runs in more ways than I thought were possible. Honestly wish I kept the recordings to make some kind of blooper reel... I'll do that next time. After like a full week of an hour or two of attempts every day, I finally managed to get a run that felt really good... and it tied my 15m08s run to the frame. Was pretty cool watching them side-by-side but man I was getting tired of this dungeon. I even got a good run to Argorok a few seconds ahead, and got my second ever coolgame, how exciting.
Anyway if you're reading this you get the point, I ramble. Was pretty close to giving up and forcing myself to move on, but this hour of attempts I was super relaxed for some reason, and it barely came together. This run definitely had its mistakes (the fence slash after the savewarp hurts my soul), but overall was very smooth, even getting the 1 frame drop into the Aeralfos fight. Improvable, but I reached my goal of sub 15, so here I'll stop. Hopefully someone else implements rod duping and gets a good run, would be a sight to see.
Also I try to ignore it but two hand grab rng affects this IL so much (though aim is more important, and so difficult for me), and this run got 3/9, not bad.

Very good run. Not without its mistakes, but I'm happy with this :)
Leaderboard: speedrun.com/tp/Snowpeak_Ruins_IL
While it had its mistakes, I'm very happy with this run. My aim was super quick for the clawshot through the floor and the LJA to the lower level, where the moonboots jumpstrike is used.
Moonboots for this jump is frame perfect, but it isn't actually too bad to time the unequip, and if I missed it I'd just reset given how soon into the run it is. So of course I got it first try here. Made a mistake in sidling sideways on the ledge before climbing, and you can actually make it up clean without grabbing the ledge, but I wasn't worrying too much about that because it's more precise.
The movement to do freezard clip is a bit awkward coming from this door, and I found doing a dash cancel made it a bit easier to not bonk anywhere. In IL speedruns it's legal to have BossFlags set before the run, so there's no cutscene to activate or skip, and Darkhammer is instantly active.
Another cool thing about ILs is the ability to get items and skills that wouldn't be available under normal circumstances (through glitched routing, not through cheats. All items etc. are obtained through real gameplay), and so you can use mortal draw to defeat Darkhammer in one hit.
For the bomb boost to the second floor I implemented a faster lineup that allows for pulling the bomb much earlier. TAS pulls the bomb earlier still, and throws it up onto the ledge, but I found trying that a bit too difficult (as in, I couldn't get it).
Fast aim for the LJAs and a lucky two handed ledge grab solidified my good pace, and I got a tad nervous. My equips were very messy though, which is my fault as I was practicing a lot on a file that had Ooccoo so the items were in slightly different locations.
The faster boss key room strategy I copied from Ekke's TAS, but found it pretty challenging to get consistently. After quite a while I figured out good places to aim and stand, and a more consistent way to get the final three chilfos with the Ball & Chain throw. Often while trying to copy the TAS method the B&C would bounce off the row of chairs, as it won't break through if it hits the back corner since that's where the chairs are strongest. Twirling the B&C to hit the first two chilfos and then aiming the B&C throw slightly up helped with this, but I unfortunately aimed a bit too high and killed the final chilfos when the B&C returned. A mistake I can live with :p
Got the Midna text skip and managed to stop mashing soon enough to not sideroll afterwards, which gave me trouble at first as I find I have to mash quite fast to get the skip. Unfortunately my rolls up to the boss door weren't too great, but can't get too caught up in that.
Blizetta was very good. The first phase I spent a lot of time practicing, and I'm happy I was able to get clean hits, catching all her bounces. It's surprisingly hard to control in what way she pings off the walls, so you kinda have to get a feel for how she'll bounce around and follow as best you can.
In the second phase I break as many icicles as possible before they drop to save the time of them falling one by one. I was very close to breaking all of them before they rose back up, which would save another few seconds, but that's very difficult and I'm still happy with how the run came together.
I can see a few more seconds coming off this, but it'd need a completely insane run to get a 7 flat or sub 7, as while I had a few mistakes and have some places to improve, I also got good luck and had some things go exceptionally well. May push for further in the future :)
The record before this was a 7:35 by Devil6Lair: youtu.be/lpxkyY_U6-Q
I did a quick attempt with moonboots and beat Devil's time with the route advantage (7:30), but I both felt bad and wanted to do a run with some of the strats I was working on that had been obsoleted by the faster route, so I did that anyway (7:28). After that I did attempt every now and then, chipping my time down to this point with moonboots.

Implemented some new or faster strats, such as the pipe jump in the first room, weighted platform ledge grab, and Dangoro two cycle.
Mis-threw the Gale right to LJA to Dangoro, costing about two seconds, and wasn't able to get the quick third hit on him (3-4s). Mis-equipped after coming back through the miniboss room, costing about another second.
Aside from those things, this is a very clean run. I was hoping to beat my Wii record as well, but I'm happy settling with the top Gamecube time.

Previous WR (18m52s by Kejs): youtu.be/7DH0_QgtDeU
This time did not come easily, and it's not the sub 18m50s I hoped for, but I'll leave it to Kejs for now.
Just by switching to Italian I saved a nice 20 frames over my and Kejs' pb's, which was satisfying.
Funny, the very first run I got past Back in Time after switching to Italian almost led to a huge pb.
Who cares about that run though. It didn't pb anyway, I threw it away. THIS run on the other hand...
It took a lot to come up with. When I got that 18m55s I was certain I'd get a nice time soon, and that certainty came and went after a Saturday filled mostly with practice and attempts, and many weeknights that only ever got as far as goats, maybe to castle.
I stopped being so picky (I'd reset over anything slower than a 3m56 cage or a 20s goats) since I knew I had a lot to save in castle with the text skips and 1 frame jumps, and everything after S&S skip could've been cleaner. Because even after you get past goats, and castle... you're at the mercy of Hugo and the shadow beast, but Hugo most of all.
This run had a very clean cage break, starting out with a two frame early Back in Time. I bonked through the gate very late in the roll so thought I hadn't made it through, and had to turn and sidehop as soon as I realised. Excellent rolling through the first cave gave me a nice starting pace (as well as the Italian advantage), and while I didn't have the cleanest rolls through faron woods, it didn't cost me as much as if I'd dropped a roll and lost my speed up a big slope like in the cave or at the final path up to Talo, where I also managed to keep a good roll speed all the way up. Ended up with a low 3m54 cage break, just 0.7s off the best I've ever gotten.
With so much time spent on them recently, & the pressure of resetting if they're mediocre, I've gotten a fair bit better at goats. This time they were looking good, but I didn't account for how sensitive one of them towards the end turned out to be, so I had to chase it along a slower path, which cost me a decent bit and ended up with a 23.88. I'd normally reset over this, but given the good cage break and acknowledging I could save it back later, I kept it going. Also I got myself locked in analogue glitch running to Epona, that was a pain.
Castle had a weird start, missing boxbreak which I normally get safely, but was very clean after, missing just a single 1 frame Midna jump of three and getting both text skips.
By this point I was ahead again if only by a little, heading to Sword & Shield Skip. Hugo (the Bulblin) noticed me instantly from a decent position, and cooperated beautifully at the twilight trigger, allowing me to push him into position with ease and swinging very quickly after.
This put me about four seconds ahead of Kejs and my pb's, and I knew if I just played it out decently to the end I should have sub 18m50 relatively safely. I even got the one frame Midna jump over the mist as a bonus. After all the Midna jumps though, my speakers started to buzz, as if the signal to one of the channels had been lost. This had happened earlier while luring Hugo, but this time was persistent, and I had to wiggle my cables at any chance I got (which is why I delay a bit when running into the Forest Temple area). Given I'd already had one very good run past this point that I'd managed to lose, it went through my mind that this run would suffer a similar fate due to this distraction.
As if in agreement, after I bit the shadow beast while only half watching, I was given a fast swing that isn't safe to attempt EMS with. Normally this wouldn't be much of a bother, but in a category as short as this, it's significant. Not hearing the shadow beast at all turned out to not matter much, and despite being shaken I got EMS on the next swing. When out of bounds I considered going for the TAS EMS path to make up some of the lost time, but talked myself out of it since it'd be a waste to throw away a pb to something so minor.
I could see in my splits that I was half a second behind Kejs entering Sacred Grove, and while I knew he didn't get the quick climb in his run, I thought the fast swing had probably ended any realistic chance of beating him. This helped me, as I was more focused on simply getting a small pb after it had eluded me for over a week of trying.
Then in Sacred Grove I got the quick climb, jumped clear over the water, and didn't startle skull kid, managing to take back the record by just one second :)

PAL Gamecube disk played on a PAL Gamecube on 27th July 2020
*Edit:* New pb/wr: youtu.be/CWBpSxkb910
I recently got a Gamecube HDMI adapter, which is meant to be a little better than a Wii HDMI adapter. Unfortunately the unit I have is a bit defective, sometimes having red lines cut across dark parts of the screen, occasionally followed by a complete loss of signal for a second or so. Obviously this would be disastrous in a speedrun, but after fixing some mismatched settings with my monitor and the adapter, as well as upping the brightness a tad, the issues mostly subsided.
I did a few MS RTA attempts with it both to test it, and to get back into the rhythm of doing proper runs, and was playing pretty well, so when I got back from a small holiday I did another evening of attempts which led to this.
The run isn't anything remarkable, but it's very solid throughout. 3:56 cage break is nothing to scoff at, but my best on English is a 3:55, and German has almost a 1s advantage from the Lantern textbox (which is why I switched to German for this). 19.46s goats is pretty good, but knowing getting as low as a 16 or even 15 is possible makes it not seem that impressive. Castle had a few movement errors, and I only got one Midna text skip (failed the first one at the bottom of the tower), and none of the three potential 1 frame jumps, all amounting to about 6 seconds lost. Not that you can ever expect to get them all, but in a short category like this, that's a big timeloss.
Hugo the Bulblin was nice, giving a decent starting position to lure him from, and not resisting much at all when I pushed him into position (though I ran into the door leaving Zelda's room, costing a bit of time here).
Heading to EMS I dug too early by the gate, but after that was good movement, and got the Midna 1 frame jump over the mist.
The shadow beast gave me a good swing first try (after biting to make him chase after me faster), which put me past all of the difficult and luck-based parts of the run.
Of course seeing the pace I was a little nervous so my movement chasing Skull Kid through Sacred Grove wasn't ideal (no quick climb, jumped into the water, hesitant final attacks) but was still good enough to close out a solid, but improvable, run.
I intend to eventually implement the faster EMS position, but doing that alongside everything else will be pretty difficult so I'll let this be for a bit (or until Kejs beats it again).

Back in Time Equipped Zora Armour route
Previous PB (3:03:21): youtu.be/QeGqNGJibpA
After almost two months of stubborn on and off attempts at beating my previous time I finally stumbled through a full run and managed it... by three seconds.
This isn't remotely close to what I felt capable of, however my mentality of simply grinding runs whenever I had some spare time because I no longer wished to improve... that held me back. Toxic mindsets don't get you far!
Overall this was a pretty strange run. I recall telling someone it felt like I was watching myself play rather than actually controlling the game. Over the time I was trying to force a pb, my polish at the game as a whole was definitely fading, and this shows just how much.
The start up through Lanayru was pretty messy, with many odd mistakes like walking straight out of forest temple while setting up for BiT, failing the Deku Toad one cycle because of a running slash, and failing a bunch of shadow beast fights. Even things I'd usually be comfortable with, I was doing slightly differently for no reason at all.
Despite this lack of flow with my play, from Lanayru until entering the Gerudo Desert was all pretty solid.
Arbiters is probably the segment that represents this run the best. I entered at low health from getting shot earlier on, so grabbed extra hearts. Moldorms got in my way multiple times, forcing me to do a wolf backup for poe skip. I'd gotten such good rupee luck earlier in the run that with grabbing just a few extra rupees in the dungeon, I was able to completely skip two of the three red rupees normally required by the route (though I failed an RNG manip as a result of getting quick rupees). I had a stretch where I was at 1/4 heart, and managed to make it through just fine. Then at Death Sword I managed to fail both the B&C kill and Death Sword skip... fun times.
At the core, this run was fine, and watching it back almost a month on (I'm very late with uploading this) it's not as bad as I remember, but so much of it was just uncharacteristic play all over.
I spent ages writing notes on the whole run over the last few days and I'm tired of describing it all again so I'll leave it there. Oh yeah and I spent about an hour in the city fan cycle room. Was a pretty strange experience overall.

I don't remember much about this run but I wrote notes on it, wow! So here were the main highlights/mistakes:
- 34s goats, bad, but was still a decent boots time of 7:41
- Second try EMS and missed picking up the master sword for a bit
- Almost got killed by shadow beasts before FT, luckily remembered to get a heart to do BiT after which I was then forced to get first try, and then got spider skip (nice)
- tried to get extra rupees in arb and it cost me lots of time
- Got DSS
- Missed ooccoo jump in city
- Failed LJA in palace to second wing, and then in second half palace got hit off the floating platform...
- Missed grabbing ganondorf as wolf once
There was of course more good/bad stuff but I can't really be bothered listing everything :p

Third Gamecube run. My goal for this version was to get good enough to compete with people better than me in Wolfdash, and to get sub 3:10 by the end of the tournament. I didn't think I was already good enough for it, and honestly wasn't even intending to do runs outside of the races, but practice got boring after waiting ages for my second match. Since it's hard to switch back and forth on the fly, I'll likely stay in Gamecube mode until the end of Wolfdash (end of March-ish?), or if I feel like I'm close to getting a good time I might do some more attempts before going back to Wii stuff. Though saying that, there is some other Gamecube stuff I'm vaguely interested in doing, so maybe I'll stick with Gamecube for longer. Dunno.
Also I got owned by the Keese in Zora's Domain

This was my first Gamecube version Any% run, done in the first seeding race for Wolfdash 2, a Twilight Princess Speedrun tournament. I retimed this to a 3:23:18, but the video cut out halfway when my internet cut out, so I added another 20s to try compensate (not that it really matters but whatever).
I've been playing Gamecube so far for the tournament as that's how I can get the best result. For a first run I can be pleased with this. Got pillar clip first try, as well as the Epona slide over the gorge, but the highlight was definitely getting Death Sword skip first try while on the main stream: clips.twitch.tv/VastAnnoyingFerretRaccAttack

*Edit again:* I've now beaten this time (and the WR at the same time) youtu.be/R9JiCuobX8o
*Edit:* Kejs, utterly despising having to share the record with Wii version scum, has since achieved a sub 19 time, which is the new untied WR: speedrun.com/tp/run/z01doq8y. Actually though I woke up to my run being verified and then 5 minutes later I receive a photo of an 18:58 like how screwed up is that?? Of course he then used his top player privilege connections to get one of the moderators (remaining un-named but you can check the run on speedrun.com to see who verified it) to verify it instantly so my WORLD RECORD (tied) run was only listed as the WORLD RECORD for like an hour??? I managed to get a screenshot in this small time window to PROVE I had three of the most prestigious twilight princess world records AT ONCE, despite Kejsmaster's efforts. I'm actually so upset about this?? I'm just yet another victim of KEJsmaster's bullying. The discrimination against the Wii version never stops. I almost feel like I'm not part of the TP speedrunning community when things like this happen and it's really hurtful. And to think he had the gall to say I FORCED him to get a (very impressive I'll give him that...) sub 19 time in his comment on his run? It's just adding insult to injury at that point. It sickens me this mafia-like arrangement some of the top runners and moderators have going, and I won't stand for it. They thought this would make me go back to Wii Any% where I 'belong' but no, I won't stand for it. I'll overthrow this rigged system all by myself if I have to.

Master Sword RTA means getting the master sword and fast as possible from starting a new game.
Timing starts upon starting the game on the TV adjustment screen, and ends upon starting the Master Sword cutscene.
It's a side category that's kinda dumb, as it's just the start of a normal Any% speedrun without getting Iron Boots. Because it doesn't get far enough into the game for version differences to matter though, the Wii version can compete with the Gamecube version.
This run isn't anything special, but was decent enough. It's actually a pretty hard category to do fast since you need good goats, a good S&S skip, and a good EMS, as well as just good rolls and getting lucky with 1 frame Midna jumps.
Don't care to do this again, but was fun to run for a little bit. Good goats/S&S skip/EMS training I guess

Sloppy run, but it's the record.
Previous record (59:38 by Skyreon): youtu.be/tHsF2SX3TlU
Previous run (59:52): youtu.be/x3IN3p9Wrn0
The start of this run was not good. Lots of really stupid mistakes all through (missing the rope in sewers, bonking the wall in Faron Twilight, missing Skull Kid...), but it wasn't bad enough to be worth restarting. Bo was nice this time, and since the run was still salvageable I went for key shard skip, which I got on the 3rd cycle. Goron mines overall was pretty solid, some silly mistakes but I played very risky. Beat Skyreon's record by 3 seconds.
I could still beat this *without* key shard skip but I don't know if it's worth it. Might try for a 58 and stop there.
Goron Mines RTA is a side category in Twilight Princess, where the aim is to beat the Goron Mines dungeon as fast as possible from starting a new game. Because the first dungeon, the Forest Temple, is completely skipped and so the Gale Boomerang is never obtained, GM RTA is actually faster on Wii due to the exclusive magnetic ceiling glitch. I'm playing this on Gamecube however, simply because I wanted a break from Wii and this is a very fun, short category.

Second sub 1 hour GM RTA! Pretty good run for my abilities. Wasn't fantastic by any means (lost 20s to EMS and Bo, and my Eldin wasn't great) but I'm very pleased to have achieved this without key shard skip. I think I'll spend a lot more time just practicing and testing before trying to beat this and Skyreon (probably with key shard skip, which saves 30s the way I do it).
A good player could probably get a 58 without key shard skip pretty decently, could maybe barely eke out a 57 on gamecube with key shard skip and a really good run. I don't know if I want to push my gamecube time quite that far though :p
I don't know exactly how much time Wii saves (an estimate would be ~1 minute) but I'll probably move to that in a wee bit.

Much better. This is a pretty good run for my current abilities, was very happy with it. Lots to still be improved but I'll need to practice a lot. Biggest mistake was failing to take off iron boots, resulting in a death in Goron Mines. I'm not yet attempting the key shard skip, which would save 30s the way I do it. I'd like to get sub 1 hour, but it'll be hard.
