Sky Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure - On-Ride and Off-Ride Ccron10 2022-07-28 | The other day I went to Six Flags Great Adventure and started out on the left side of the park and planned to head over to the right side on the Sky Ride to ride Nitro, and Jersey Devil. The park was slow so I figured that there wouldn't be much of a wait... turns out I was wrong as the Sky Ride looked to have the longest wait in the park with only one side running and maybe around 10 gondolas running.The history of the Sky Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure is kind of interesting as it has a lot of history and fascinating info behind it. It is the last dual Von Roll Skyride in operation and is actually a combination of two dual skyrides as the towers were from one that operated at the defunct Freedomland Park in New York and machinery and cars from the Swiss Sky Ride that operated at the World's Expo in 1964 and 1965.Over the years the cars were replaced with the current ones that operated at Six Flags Great America and only two of the original cars exist today. During my visits to the park in the 2010s the number of cars the Sky Ride operated has continuously dropped to the point where it is today and it is pretty depressing. I counted around 14 gondolas on the unused side when I was there yesterday. The operating side had three gondolas in the storage area and one or two were missing their door. The park did get about 20-30 new gondolas from the recently closed Sky Buckets from Six Flags Over Georgia last year, but they all currently sit in the boneyard next to Nitro without hanger arms or clamps. I really hope this is a work in progress to add more gondolas to add more years to this ride, but in it's current state it wouldn't shock me if it closed in five years.Included is a POV I took back in 2018 going from Dream Street to Frontierland when it had more gondolas and both sides running. You'll see the otherside briefly E-Stop too.

Rusutsu Resort - Loop the Loop - An Ultra Rare Japanese Shuttle Loop Coaster Ccron10 2024-02-16 | This next video is of a coaster that has been on my bucket list for quite some time due to the fact that it is the last one operating of it's kind. Loop the Loop at Rusutsu Resort in the Hokkaido mountains was built by Japanese manufacturer Meisho and has a layout that was cloned to many other Japanese parks in the 1980s and 90s. Many of those parks closed during the 2000s, but the ones that survived also closed possibly due to cost to keep them running. One thing is certain is that they had a history of being incredibly intense coasters with g-forces in the loop being upwards of 3.5g.The intense experience begins with the train traveling forward from the station and connecting to a catchcar and being hoisted to the top of the incline. The train releases and you travel backwards down the hill, through the station and into a tight vertical loop that pushes you tightly into your seat. The train then graually rises up a curve and experience a slight momoent of weightlessness before traveling forward again and back into the intense vertical loop a second time, through the station where you gradually slow down, and partially back up the first lift. The train then rolls backward where the brakes carefully park the train.This coaster was the main reason I wanted to visit Rusutsu Resort along with the Ultra Twister coaster as these were two unique coasters that can not be experienced anywhere else and it is unknown how long they would be open until. The trip was definitely worth it and it makes me hope it sticks around as long as possible.To visit Rusutsu Resort I definitely reccomend renting a car as there is limited transportation to and from the resort, which is an hour drive from Saporro. There are several hotels on the property, but they can be pretty expensive and luxurious. The amusement rides are open spring until October and the rest of the year the ski resort operates.

Duel GP Crazy Racing Drifting Attraction- Suzuka Circuit - Japan Ccron10 2023-12-20 | At the end of my last trip to Japan back in September I stayed with a friend for a few days in Nagoya. I normally go to Nagashima Spaland, but decided to do something different this time and visit Suzuka Circuit this time. I honestly went into the park expecting to ride the coasters, call it quits and maybe stop at Nagashima for a ride on Hakugei, but I discovered that this park had a lot more to offer.Throughout the park were many different interactive attractions that were for all ages such as three different car rides where you had to eitherdrive through an obstacle course and not hit the sides of the track, keep your car running at a certain speed and the classic commplete the course by a certain time. Another was a suspended monorail where you had to drop a ball on a target. Duel Gp though is an interesting one though.Similar to Test Track at Epcot, Duel GP is a powered ride where you board a Formula One-sttyled vehicle and race a second track. When you get to a turn you are supposed to steer into the turns, fail to do so and you end up spinning your vehicle and slowing down. If you win the race and don't spin out, you are given a souvenir "driver's licence", which was a cute touch!On a sidenote of getting to the park, I took the Kintetsu Limited Express to Shiroko Station. I was going to take a bus from there to the park, but it didn't run often during the non summer season and ended up taking a taxi for 2000 yen one way (some accept Suica/Pasmo) and a bus back.
