The Storm Chasing Anthology | Storm Chasing History | Documentary, 2016 Three Reel Films 2016-09-12 | The Storm Chasing Anthology, Volume One: A 67-minute condensed visual history of storm chasing and severe weather research culture told through the words and imagery of storm chasers and meteorologists across North America. Independently produced over a two-year period by Blake Naftel, a visual journalist and severe weather historian who traveled through 35-states and Ontario, Canada interviewing 112 individual meteorologists, storm chasers, and relatives of weather enthusiasts on a broad range of topics specific to storm chasing and extreme weather. This program presents a variety of topics, opinions and personal recollections from a mix of ages and individuals from 1950's until 2015.The production was funded entirely by crowd-sourcing campaigns on Kickstarter, Go Fund Me, private donations and family support. This project was originally intended as a multi-part series, rather than a single production. Multimedia was provided by project participants, members of the storm chasing and meteorology community, and the producers' own archive chronicling severe weather and the people that pursue it.Produced and Edited by Blake Naftel.
