Black/White Wolf Fight | Cancelled Commission | DarkmaneTheWerewolf Bee3001 Art & Animation 2022-06-10 | Cancelled commission which was never paid for.Please note there is no animosity towards the person who commissioned this, I know life does get in the way of a lot of things but people do have to move on and I can't just keep holding on to the work I've done. Quick reminder - I have a Patreon too: patreon.com/DarkmaneTheWerewolfThe story: This does go back around 8-10 years now, when I had only been doing commissions for a year or so maybe. I was asked to animate two wolf characters fighting and this was completed, paid for and delivered. A while later, the same person asked for a new sequence of the same two characters and a few scenes that might combine with the first sequence to make them part of the same fight. This new set of animations was agreed, roughed out and composited with the existing scene, however it was NOT paid for. Again, I want to stress that I do not blame anyone, the person who asked for these animations had always been extremely pleasant to work with and very understanding when things weren't going well on my end too. But in the end, despite a lot of back and forth, I never received payment for this second set of sequences - 7 years ago is where my initial correspondences regarding this started, 5 years ago is the last contact I had with them.So with that, I think its safe to say that after 5 years the commission is likely no longer a priority for them to say the least and at the same time, I think that's more than enough time for me to move on too - I am no longer holding on to the work I've done and cancelling the commission. This work is still mine and I don't really want it all to go to waste as I did work hard on this at the time so I am releasing it on Youtube!Obviously this needed a bit of work before I could do that+ I separated the scenes from what was previously made and paid for - NONE of the work that was paid for is included, all of that belongs to the person who commissioned it.+ Both characters were completely changed - Nothing of the characters resemble the characters that belong to the person who commissioned these aside from the fact that they are Wolves.+ Small re-animated sections and assets removed - Replaced by more generic spells and movements, again so that no resemblance to the commissioned characters remained.So the original work I'd done had essentially been traced over with two more generic and bland coloured wolves put into the old After Effects compositions to make this, I hope people can enjoy this 5-10 year old animation at last.

I'm a big fan of Monster Hunter games and throughout the series, there have been a lot of monsters, some of which are returning in MHW, some are entirely new monsters. I've also been playing a lot of MH Double Cross (MHXX) which is currently Japan exclusive but the unique mascot dragon of MHXX is Baru Faruku, an Elder dragon that is almost literally a Jet plane with the speed and power to match! Chasing this thing down is no easy feat as it can transition areas in an instant but this is fine when you just need to enter a loading zone for yourself to transition areas too. So obviously, I would want to do some fanart for it =p I've also been dying to use the pens because they were a gift to me from my brother. He also gave me a fountain pen which I've been using to write all of the things ever (Got my christmas cards done super early as a result) but its only with doing these sorts of arts that I can properly utilise the other two pens he gave me. I love using Fountain Pens XDThe materials I use are shown at the start of the video. The only thing that might not be immediately obvious is the paper I use which is watercolour paper. Drawn in pencil first, lined with a fine fountain pen using Carbon Ink and coloured using Watercolours. I stopped following main series Pokemon after the third generation and it's not really appealed to me since... Until now.First gen was always my favorite, it came out at the perfect time when I was still at Secondary school and being a gamer from a very young age, I was definately in on it and found so many other friends who were into it too. So first gen will always have that special place in my mind as something I had immense fun playing and competing with friends.I am very late to the party, but Pokemon GO did pique my interest when I saw it was only first gen (I can't handle the 700 or so that we have now =_=) and I've been meaning to get a new phone anyway, so my old iPhone 4 got replaced with something better that can also handle Pokemon GO. For a casual mobile game, it's pretty fun =p Anyway. My last drawing video proved to be extremely unpopular in comparison to other draw videos I've done. Maybe it was the shorter length, the subject itself or other things. So heres something that might be more appealing. The archives are full of great references of a wide variety of subjects and motions including horses trotting, jumping and kicking as well as other subjects like Bison, Cats, humans, monkeys and even large and small birds. A quick goodle search of Eadweard Muybridge + query will yield great results. It's probably one of the worst Chibi MonHun draws I've ever done (Also my chibi Teo but I digress). For those of you who might be wondering why, if I was so ashamed of the old one, do I still keep it in my DeviART gallery and not just replace it with this lovely new one? I never delete any of my old work because they're all a part of my journey in learning art and animation throughout the years. They show how I developed as a young artist to what I am today, and I'm hoping that another 8 or so years is going to be just as interesting or more so than what I have at the moment. Most importantly, it shows that improvement does infact happen not overnight, but over a long period of work and study. No one starts off perfect at anything and drawing is no different. Some footage of how I made the loop of "Cat Treadmill" to show how I animate things. A lot was subsequently cut out so the video wouldn't be excessively long for me drawing essentially the same thing, the most drastic cuts are where i've faded to black.Often I plan by stages and by key frames where I will start with the legs first at extreme points and fill in a few frames between them, making sure that the 4 keys work fluidly. Next, I work with every other frame, slowly filling out the legs, tail and head (Again, starting with the extremes where the head is furthest left then furthest right), then filling how it gets from one extreme to the next. Glyde has done ecologies based on the Monster Hunter universe while I have shoehorned my namesake character mascot Darkmane into some short comic versions as comic relief. The two of us have somewhat... "Different" ideas about how to present our collaboration, where Glyde's aim is to fill stuff with as much written detailed and interesting information as possible. The most common example when learning this principle is the ears or jowls of a dog because they're so floppy.In particular, with the jowls of a Dog, I've actually had someone come up to me to say that Dogs purposely open and close their mouths while running for some reason. This is obviously untrue, but I think the problem was they mistook the moving jowls for mouth movement where actually, the jowls just flop about.This particular example has been heavily exagerated. This is how i'm able to do the stripey feather patterns so quickly because I can press X (Keyboard shortcut in GIMP to switch the selected foreground and background colours of the brush) or hole Ctrl (Keyboard shortcut to cahnge the brush into colour-picker while Ctrl is pressed) and just draw seemlessly without having to move to the toolbox all the time.I'm drawing on GIMP 2.6.10.So, heres something nice and cute with some detail. As seen, a lot of the fine details come from when i'm colouring or shading to really define and sculpt the shape of the creature i'm drawing. You can also see how many times I redraw not just the whole thing (Which I redrew twice before I moved onto the proper lineart), but I also can get stuck drawing the same small thing for a while too (Wings...=_=)Also, when I'm blocking out the character, while it may seem like i'm just moving the mouse about doing nothing, what I'm actually doing is first ensuring the "threshold"'d image is a continuous outline, then i'm getting rid of any specs that appear around the edges of the lineart. Not the best way to block out a drawing but I just couldn't be bothered to contend with all the fur and feathers...
