~ bip bibop 2010-04-05 | This was an animation test I completed for Nelvana Ltd. in order to transfer into the 3-D department. I had a week to complete the test (400 frames worth!), on top of my regular quota, and I'd never touched Maya before. Needless to say, it was a crazy week!I began by following the storyboards as outlined in the test, but about halfway through (thanks mostly to lack of sleep) I suddenly decided to add a little extra action to the end. My new version of the test begins around when Manny says "Don't worry tools."...Watch for the "Backyardigan's" cameo! Luckily my operations manager had a sense of humour, and my "director's cut" of the test was accepted and I got the job in 3-D.This was animated using Maya 7.0. I boarded and edited the extra sequence using Vegas Video. Enjoy!
Rotting Hills episode 04 - The New Girl (official) bip bibop 2010-05-06 | "Rotting Hills" is a show I created and successfully pitched to be optioned by Nelvana Ltd. (Canada) as part of their "Funpak" series in 2004. I was given a modest budget and asked to complete five short episodes to air on YTV. I managed a small crew of over ten people including an Art Director, layout artists and several animators.I wrote and directed each five minute short. I also drew the storyboards, designed the sets and characters, and animated two 'halves' of two episodes myself (ep 03 and ep 04), including the 20 second opening sequence. While Funpak no longer airs, the Rotting Hills shorts currently air on YTV in Canada as interstitials (usually around Halloween.)Thanks for watching!~bipbibop!
