This benchmark was done under DirectX9, ofcourse the built-in benchmark is not really representative for the game itself as it is capped in framerate too.

I've done a benchmark just driving around off-video on DirectX9 and 64GB DDR5-5600 XMP a while back and this is the result:

It is possible to run this game with DXVK wrapper aswell to drastically improve performance, just drop all the .dll files in the game directory:

Make sure to add commandline.txt in game directory with the following to also set the native resolution as DXVK wrapper may not let to set the right resolution:

-nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 11264 -norestrictions -fullspecaudio -forcehighqualitymirrors -noBlockOnLostFocus -d3dmt -width 2560 -height 1440 -refreshrate 165

Change availablevidmem to the amount of VRAM your GPU has, the rest speaks for itself.
DO NOT use the commandline -no_3GB as it will cause pop-ins!

Far Cry 2 - 1080P & 1440P DirectX10 Benchmarks - i9 13900K & 1080Ti - 4K 60FPS

So this might be the only Far Cry 2 video on the planet right now with this game functioning on this processor. The problem lies in the fact that the game is simply NOT compatible with the amount of CPU threads that these processors have available, the game will simply not launch and close itself.

This does not only occur on Far Cry 2 but I've read reports of Far Cry 3 aswell and personally experienced the same for Catherine Classic and F.E.A.R 1 (First Encounter Assault Recon) and there might be more older games out there like this.

While some people suggest to turn off hyper-threading, I have not done so to achieve a working result, there is another workaround for this problem. This avoids having to reboot and turn off settings in the bios and have less CPU resources available on the system. Turning off hyper-threading might only work for a short amount of time until processors get more and more physical cores. I have not tried this on the i9 13900K but considering it already has 24 physical cores at it's disposal I do not think it will work.

THE FIX TO RUN THE GAME WITH LIMITED ASSIGNED CPU-THREADS:

1. Create a shortcut to FarCry2.exe
2. Move the shortcut to game directory where FarCry2.exe is located.
3. Open properties of the shortcut
4. Modify 'target' to the following value:

%ComSpec% /C Start /Normal /Affinity FFFF FarCry2.exe

5. Click Apply

Now when the shortcut is opened (might have to run as Administrator) the game will start with only a maximum of 16 CPU-threads assigned to the process on start-up. The game will continue to load without any issue.

If you want to run the game from a shortcut outside of the game-directory you need to do an additional trick as creating a shortcut to a shortcut does not function.

1. Make sure steps 1-5 are followed above.
2. Create a .bat file in the game directory where FarCry2.exe is located.
3. Edit the .bat file in a text editor and enter the following:

%ComSpec% /C Start "lnk" "X:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Far Cry 2\bin\FarCry2.lnk"

Make sure you replace the drive X for your installation drive (like C) and make sure the game directory path is correct and points to the created shortcut file created earlier. (in my case FarCry2.lnk)

4. Create a shortcut to the .bat file to any location you wish.
5. Rename the shortcut to your liking.
6. Edit the properties and change the icon to the one of FarCry2.exe

If the shortcut is ran, it will run the .bat file that launches the shortcut file in the game directory that actually launches the game with limited CPU-threads. (might have to run as Administrator)

If you want to run the FC2BenchmarkTool or FC2Editor (Map Editor) you'll have to apply the same fixes above for these executables.

IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO RUN DIRECTX10 WITHOUT CRASHING:

The game executable FarCry2.exe by default has a 32-bit limitation that it can only consume up to about 2GB memory, once this limit is hit the game will crash to desktop without any error.

Because DirectX10 hits this limit fairly quickly, the game might even fail to load past the loading screen because of this issue.

There is a fix however: ntcore.com/?page_id=371

This 4GB memory patcher patches the executable FarCry2.exe (or any executable you desire) to be able to use up to 4GB memory so you can enjoy the game in a fully optimized DirectX10 glory, because it simply runs A LOT better under DirectX10 than it does under DirectX9.

Halo Infinite - i7 3930K & 1080Ti Multiplayer Gameplay - 4K 60FPS

The i7 3930K was not capable to provide a very smooth experience in this game, even with a 4.4Ghz overclock the CPU would be sitting roughly at 100% most of the time producing anywhere from 10 to 50fps depending on the map size, large maps would create massive freezes during big action.

The upgrade to a i9 13900K, Albeit using low settings for maximum framerates, has increased the framerates to 100-120fps with maximum FOV and beyond with a fraction of the total CPU processing power (15-25% roughly) while still being 99% GPU bound.

All recordings were made on 1440P and upscaled to 4K because YouTube to this day still refuses to offer us better bitrates at a lower resolution without paying a premium so I guess we'll keep forcing it another way, their loss. 🤷‍♂️

Please note this is recorded with Shadowplay which may remove a few fps and G-sync was activated (while V-sync was off) which might skew the ~165fps region a little bit causing them to be slightly lower than otherwise.

Doom Eternal Full Gameplay Playthrough - 4K 60FPS

Even though this is a full playthrough of the game, the clips do not contain 100% of all the gameplay but most of it.

Near the end I ended up playing with some cheats because I just wanted the game to be done with and see the rest of the storyline.

Any freezes that might occur in the video or short missing parts were due to Shadowplay recordings being saved overloading the HDD during recordings as I was using the feature to record only the last x of minutes but for the most part it's fine.

Battlefield V - Stationary PAK 40 Gun Rapid Fire Glitch - 4K - 60FPS

This is done by repeatedly spamming enter/exit on the gun while pressing the shooting button.

This could be a disaster in multiplayer. :')

Battlefield V - Teleporting When Closing Doors - 4K - 60FPS

When you're outside the building and close the door you're able to move away to the inside of the building.
However, if you try to exit the building while closing the door the system teleports you back into the building.

This could be experienced as pretty annoying in multiplayer.
