Game Tech Hub focuses on new companies making or leveraging technology for game developers. Tools like the Unreal Engine, Unity 3D, Discord and others have shown the massive potential of these companies, but traditional accelerators do not cater to or understand their needs.
With support from the Fusen.World (https://fusen.world/) accelerator platform created by GGDA Chairman Chris Klaus, Game Tech Hub invests $500,000 in its participating startups in three milestone-based tranches. It puts the startups through an eight-week game technology-focused short curriculum. It connects startups directly with game studios that can use their tools while providing insights only they could develop. We also connect the startups to informed mentors who can help them on other areas, including investments, marketing, sales and more.
Since we operate internationally and our accelerator sessions occur virtually, we accept startups from anywhere in the world. We do require incorporation in the United States, and our sessions are in English. Apply to join our first cohort by April 30, 2023. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSckLs4Q7p8D6fRmeGmHeBfor-xcJMDHDiJddmCpZeO8hKcpTg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Two of the most frequent questions we get asked about game jams is what tools jammers should use and how their teams can work together more effectively. UME.Studio is a powerful online collaboration platform that allows teams to share screens and application windows simultaneously for seamless remote collaboration. This is especially useful during game jams, where quick decisions and problem-solving are essential. With UME.Studio, teams can share code, game engines, and art tools without the need for constant switching, saving time and avoiding confusion.
Co-founder Daniel Roizman, with his expertise in games, animation, and education, will be demonstrating how teams can use UME.Studio to iterate faster and keep their team in sync during game jams. As a special offer, UME.Studio is offering the platform to GGDA's Global Game Jam participants for free, so don't miss out on this opportunity to improve your game jam experience with UME.Studio.
If you are a GGDA member, contact us for an invitation to the presentation itself so you can try out the tools with the developers and get any questions answered immediately.
Please note that the GGDA does not take money for these showcases, but uses them as an opportunity to introduce useful tools to its members.

Based on a review of existing literature, as well as new research conducted into character design preferences, learn what qualities gamers over the age of 45 are looking for in game avatars. This includes a discussion of pre-designed player characters, as well as player characters that are created through customization. Older adults are a multi-billion-dollar audience for the industry and creating engaging characters is an important way to support this profitable player base.

A postmortem of all the talks PuzzlesbyJoe has given over the years, with a focus on what advice really holds up after 12+ years as a Solo-Indie-Dev. Intelligent attendees should be able to glean an abundance of wisdom and go out and improve their lives afterwards. This will be a retrospective of all the advice given over the years, and what you can do with it.
Joe Cassavaugh is the founder of Puzzles By Joe and the creator of Clutter, the little game that could. The Clutter series is quickly approaching $5 million in sales. Joe just released Clutter’s Greatest Hits, the 13th game in the increasingly poorly named Clutter Trilogy. This is Joe’s 6th game developed in Unity. Joe is arguably the most successful semi-solo indie in Atlanta (since moving here in 2010). Joe is finally living the Indie Dream where he gets to do pretty much what he wants to do (within the scope of the Clutter Franchise). Look for Clutter RefleXIVe, out early in 2022. Later, he hopes that his 13 year dream project, Clutter Diamonds: A Peter Zelle Mystery, will see the light of day. puzzlesbyjoe.com
