Just to be clear about the “cultural controversy” line: I know there are elements of the English fan translation of Mother 3 that may be problematic or hurtful to the LGBTQ community, and I’m not sticking up for that. My point is that Nintendo could address the stickiness of localizing Mother 3 to English-speaking markets if they really wanted to, but they’re some combination of cowardly, lazy, or they selfishly refuse to put effort into something that might not turn enough of a profit to make it worth it for them, even if fans continue to clamor for it.

I wrote the first draft of this in 2015 after playing Mass Effect to see what all the hubbub was about. Musically, I think of it as being a close cousin of my earlier songs “Meet Me in the Dungeon, Dear,” ”The Bioshock Song,” and ”The Bioshock Infinite Song’ since it has the same vocal style and a similarly outdated (read: COOL) musical style. I began to burn out on YouTube in 2015 and this song fell by the wayside. But with Season 12 in full swing, I just had to finally do it justice! And one more thing: If this song sounds vaguely familiar, that’s because it’s HEAVILY influenced by Tom Lehrer’s 1965 song “The Vatican Rag.” Thanks for watching!

RARE Favorite Mushroom Party Hits Mario Tape, 1989 - Brentalfloss

brentalfloss 2018-12-31 | This is an extremely weird 1989 Super Mario cassette tape where Capt. Lou Albano acts as a DJ for a playlist of golden oldies. I could barely find any evidence that it ever existed on Google, so decided to record the Mario bits and put them on YouTube. What a strange obscure little piece of Super Mario history. Enjoy!
