World on Fire: Isolated vocal. This is the Abbey Road difference! CatGoneCrazy 2022-06-07 | This is the isolated, post-mix vocal taken from the desk of Paul Pritchard at Abbey Road Studios. It's unmastered, but still you can get a great sense of the craftsmanship that went into creating the mix on this song. In it you can hear sparingly-used delay for effect, and a 'backwards reverb' effect to make the vocals ever-present, which sounds phenomenal, I'm sure you'll agree. The vocal was recorded in a normal living room - without soundproofing - using an Apogee MiC and a MacBook Pro. The quality of the sound is testament to Paul's immense skill as a sound engineer and I'd like to thank him again here for his superb work on my music. I haven't uploaded anything for months as I've been so busy, and while I wanted to do a better version of this cover as a slicker video, filmed properly and mic'd up separately, I actually like this portrait version taken on my phone. I hadn't intended to post it hence my having hair over my face and no intro, so sorry about that. My MacBook was sat on top of the piano recording the audio and I just added some reverb in Logic Pro. So it's very simple (and you'll probably see the join between two takes if you look hard enough), but there's something about this recording that later takes just didn't have. So I hope you enjoy it!It's not a note for note cover, and I have to sing it 3 semitones down in order to hit the high note at the end. Dirt 5 on Xbox One X review: So much for my £450 console... CatGoneCrazy 2020-11-02 | This is a video review of the Xbox One X version of Dirt 5. A little more detail on the patch situation: I played the game all the way through on PS4 over the weekend when I reviewed it for Official PlayStation Magazine, and of course having been commissioned to do that by the editor, I can't then review that version on my channel because the magazine's not out yet. So I received an Xbox code from the very kind folk at Koch Media, although it soon became clear that the Day 0 patch was not ready. Indeed, it was only ready around 9:20am this morning. Having played the game this weekend prior to the patch, I was only concerned about the graphics, but if anything it actually runs worse after the patch than before it! So this is a review of the Xbox One X version, as seen in the Day 0 patch. Some of the footage here concerning game modes etc is from the pre-patched build, but not the parts where I'm discussing the technical problems - that's all as it will be on release day. Please do read my review of the game in Official PlayStation Magazine UK as it's fair to say the PS4 version is a completely different story.Thanks for watching - cheers.
