REFUSE (previously The Unconceding) - Megaman Zero fan animatic @sarahwarao

sarahwarao 1 year later, from initially made as impromptu fun project collaborate with artist ひなべ (Hinabe); turned out to be the longest progress had ever made; finally finish!

It still a project for fun! But I never expected it will take this long, especially us busy with real life both professional and personal. I remember I tried my best to slip this project everytime I had downtime from office work on Storyboard Pro, except one scene Harpuia said "Die!" 3 times I tested drawing it in Procreate Dream. Throughout ups and downs, we made it! 3rd animatic!

It all began when I sat down appreciating and mesmerized by Hinabe's version of Megaman Zero story in manga form (I translate + learning Japanese slowly as small hobby) it was back then the latest chapter. I sat up quickly, how strong this scene was considering Ciel has past with Neo Arcadia life and Zero's lines are top-notch.
And coincidentally, Luna & I had done old 1st animatic Pre-MMZX Ciel and Harpuia version (this is before met Hinabe). In 1st animatic, we made them established comrades between them. A lucky coincidence! I decided to give it a try to storyboard and animatic Hinabe's version scene, communicate with Hinabe for the first time to ask permission. Everything's greenlit, and here we are! Everyone please read the manga whenever you can!

Another news, this will be Luna's last involvement as Ciel for now. And I may follow her footsteps sooner or later to take a break from doing fanart animatic, or even take a break from voicing as Harpuia. Our lives will be busier than ever; she'll be furthering her acting career and I'll be furthering Master degree soon while repairing my haywire life. Not to worry! I still have two animatics left and it's not as complex as this. They will be simple scenes, no Ciel and less Harpuia involvement (I think Harpuia only has like 3 lines). After those 2 finish, I'll be off to do non-Megaman stuff; but that doesn't mean I abandon MMZ! We'll return when the time comes :D

I’m so happy! Especially Megaman franchise has been like “sepi” for quiet some (or long) time!
It is, Megaman Secret Level is the [Start] of something new!

Sorry again for long rambling yapping that is more towards animation stuff in general 🤣

I wish I get to add more information texts on video. There’s so much I want to add that I unable to articulate during live recording, but my laptop has storage disk problem that I unable to work on this video smoothly. I transferred to my Ipad, but I dont want to risk it that the file is too big. Plus, I have other works to do & time is not on my side! So here is the final result.

Although I actually dislike how I colour nowadays and can't find suitable palette that shows like a tarot card style (can't blame much irl and uni life bc that's part of life), but at the very least, I'm pleased and proud with this piece!
