This tutorial will take you through the making of this Surprise card - I'll show you my ink 'smooching' technique, copic colouring tachnique as well as creating the mechanism for this cute interactive card. I used Hello Bluebird products for the leaves (Tropical Foliage) and Portrait Pals stamp set. I do adore these stamp sets and dies - slowly building my collection! The pull tab is the Lawn Fawn Add on (toaster set).I had my phone videoing this morning when making it, but paused and forgot to restart it -arrrggghhhh!! so I had to do a 'mock-up' of the mechanism part - hope its clear and that you can follow it to hopefully make your own! Tim Holtz Media Mat | Trying some ink Smooshing alilovescardmaking 2018-03-06 | So happy to have had my Tim Holtz Media Mat arrive this morning. I purchased it from my local store (The Scrapbook Store, Perth Western Australia). Had to create on it to see how good it was! Was super pleased with it - love the glass surface and that clean up is so easy!! I have a pile of stained, cut-marked shabby looking craft mats that I can finally bannish! Yay!Some main points (according to my own personal opinion)- Great size - good large work surface - good quality - solid and won't slip/move easily, sturdy- love the 'defined' work sections - more efficient work process- like the 'white'/messy area - stamp sets can be easily shown here for videos too!!- craft mat - gives good variety to results/uses- clean-up super easy!!- can do 'more' processes in the one place - helps to keep work area concentrated (less 'shuffling' of items).- ability to use heat tool on mat is great!- videos - difficulty with glare might happen if you have ceiling lights for you only lighting. I video during the day mostly and have good natural lighting and some daylight desk lamps which I can angle to reduce this. Anyway - hop this is helpful for those thinking of investing in the mat. Well, I checked YT and couldn't see any other videos with this idea - so might be able to claim it as my original idea!! Wow!
